  1. there are 2 public buses (35 baht) from Don Muang to the new airport (the great majority of the new airport still live around the old airport).

I would imagine thai airways domestic will still fly from the new airport and some of the budget airlines from don muang.

I sure hope you are right, I would hate after a 10 hour flight on Thai from Copenhagen to have the problems of changing airport, after clearing immigration and customs, and then on to Don Muang and check in for the sector to Phuket also on Thai.

  2. AOT President Chotisak Asopwiriya (โชติศักดิ์ อาสภวิริยะ) said it is possible that the domestic airlines will operate at the Don Muang Airport again. However, AOT needs about 45-60 days to prepare spaces at the airport for them.

Eh, yes, but what about connecting flights? Baggage checked through?

I guess then overseas passengers will have to wait in line at Suvarnaphumi immigration (at least 30 mins.), wait for their luggage (another 15 to 30 mins.), find transportation (how many passengers will get lost?) fight their way through traffic jam depending on time of the day, check in at Don Muang (another hour).

Now if that is not going to be a logistics nightmare and more than an inconvenience for especially the "quality" tourists Thailand wants to attract to their beaches...

I think it's going to create a lot of problems, I hate to think what effect it will have on my next trip to LOS, we will be arriving on Thai from Copenhagen and connecting to Phuket 1 hour later also on Thai, this will be impossible if we have to check immigration and collect our baggage, and the find transport til Don Muang, and then check in again, I sure hope Thai Airways will put their foot down and stop this stupidity.

  3. Hope you will have a nice time in Pattaya, but I would have suggested Phuket, it's a beautiful island and a lot of things to see and do. Like boat trips to the islands, and a lot on Phuket itself, but that's just my opinion, you have the choice.

  4. The bombings will certainly have a big impact on tourism.Especially families.

The head of a family, planning the vacation, might want to come to Thailand but will want to avoid the Tsunamis areas and now with the bombings, nowhere is safe enough.

Much safer places to go. Agreed?

I'm sorry to say but I think you are wrong, friends of mine who are in the hotel business in Phuket reports the best year since the hotel opened in 1996, people forget fast nobody is worried of a Tsunami, you have to live your life and enjoy it and the chance of an other Tsunami is pretty remote. Very few people here in Denmark has heard about the bombs in Bangkok, and those who have will still go, and Bangkok is hardly the choice for a family holiday.

If any impact on tourism, I think it will very small.

  5. It must be a very slow recovery, the funny thing is it appears to affect my connection to Thaivisa. com more than other forums, I have a very good connection to Phuket-Info.Com, but kepp on loosing Thaivisa.com.

Are we having a server problem or do they use a different provider ?

  6. :o

I heard he was going to join us... But he got Hung up!

Should i laugh my butt off too if one day you're executed? Good or bad, show some respect please.

How would you feel if we could do the same to Osama Bin Ladin, I think he deserves the same treatment.

  7. I've just added a 0.5% of repulsion for muslims...I just made the on-line check in for me and my gf as tomorrow we are flying back to my home for Christmas. When you make the booking online, the plane is an Airbus A330-200, a very good plane...a few minutes ago I just made the on-line check in and guess what, the Airbus A330-200 turned into an old A340-300, no inflight entertainment, no nothing :o I call their customer care to verify this and I've been transfered to 3 different representatives, the 3rd one hooked up, I didn't even had the time to tell them what I want to ask :D

Just a bunch of dumb cheats and they're all the same, I haven't meet a single muslim not trying to BS people :D

Next time I'll spend 2 more hours in the plane and fly Austrian or KLM or whatever...

    Which Airline ?????

  8. I wish all the muslim in this country a pleasant journey to Malaysia and hope they forget their way back to Thailand :o

Please keep in mind that they are not all bad, it's only a minority which creates all the trouble, and using Islam as their excuse.

Please accept my appologies, but in my experience with muslims, I haven't met a decent one until now, hope I will eventually...

No apology necessary, we all have had our different experiences, I have lived and worked as an Airline Pilot for 30 years in mostly muslim countries, I still have a lot of friends there, young muslims I trained and worked with, most of them didn't care too much for religion, they would have a beer like any normal human being.

During the 15 years I have been coming to Phuket I have also known quite a few Thai muslims, mostly nice normal people.
