  1. . I feel very sorry for you

    Thank you,but no thanks! :D

I'm a very poor recipient for that kind of pity because I almost never feel sorry for myself!

Maybe you could somehow project that self-righteous feeling of pity right back onto yourself, where it belongs, and become your own pitiful target? :D

Then you can pity your own inexperience, deal with it and hopefully find a remedy!

Your being a "board brain" doesn't really solve that issue for you now.does it? :o

Let's meet again after you've successfully lived twenty years like a Thai here in Thailand without many dealings with Westerners;as I have been doing!

At that juncture, our experiences might jibe a bit better than now!?

    No hard feelings!

    Ha det så bra. :D

    Cheers.

  2. a hospital bill of thirty thousand pounds
He's on a ventilator which is directly into his windpipe. He's also being fed oxygen".

He's being held hostage under the two tier pricing system! :o

His family and friends should try to raise the funds and secure his release as soon as possible because the greedy hostage takers' ransom demand is likely to be increasing even during negotiations!

Get him out before they pull the plug on his respirator! :D

  3. Thailand could really help their exports by shipping all the street dogs off to where people have some use for them
Thais eat dogs too! :o Sakhon Nakhon is the most famous place where canines are eaten.

I think dog meat is sometimes sold under other names in Bangkok.

Some years ago a guy was caught delivering dog meat to Bangkhae Market.

He'd been doing it for a while so some of us might have eaten it in good faith.

I guess it's all in the way we see food. Maybe someday I will think of dogs as food but right now I still think of dogs as companions

    It's a cultural thing but why eat man's best friend!It doesn't sound fair! :D

  4. But many holidaymakers were also found dead in bed after sex sessions with Thai girls.
Do Thai girls do it differently? :D
“We have had a number of people just die in bed.

Viagra is widely available and in conjunction with alcohol and sex it can be fatal.”

Viagra is probably the buzz-word and scape-goat used by the Thai police so they can close cases quickly without harming Thailand's tourism industry too much.

Surely, many unsuspecting victims were cajoled into ingesting a far more potent and sinister little pill at the end of their lives than the famous little aphrodisiac they thought would show them "Heaven on Earth"! :D

    Yeah,bring it on!Swing it baby. :o

  5. Thailand's tourist police recorded only 119 tourist deaths last year, but 10 embassies representing just under half the foreign nationals visiting the kingdom in 2003 reported at least 595 fatalities.

Did any "farangs" get officially murdered in the Realm last year? :D

Are Permanent Residents included among tourist fatalities or are they survivalists? :o

  6. Guns kill far more people than any drug. But guns are still legal. The makers can even advertise.
    Is anyone shocked ?

One side claims that guns kill people so you shouldn't keep them in your house. :D

The other side argues that guns don't kill but people do! :D

I play it safe and don't keep people in my house! :o

  7. Wan Noor would remain in the Cabinet as a deputy prime minister.

How many deputy premiers do the tax-payers have to feed nowadays? :o

It's a never-ending saga with the same talking-heads who're joining hands and dancing a perpetual ring-dance with their corrupt cronies while changing positions and parties ad infinitum and ad nauseam! :D

  8. to say that most Thais are kee neeo is quite rude. :D
Sometimes I just feel the forum is a tad biased...  :D
Well, snowleopard, our experience of Thais is obviously very different.

So obviously, I wasn't rude as you first tried to claim;but, rather I was honest to my own experience!

In general,I don't like to generalize characteristics and say all 64 million Thais are like twins;or clones of one another, with the same genotype and behavior;but I was trying to make a point about the bail money which the Thai so generously posted for the Swede.

    The point was...

First the Swede burns down his life-creation worth 15 million baht so he loses everything.

Then he borrows,or somehow scrapes together, another 200 000 baht to post bail as a reward for the guy who's made him destitute.

Friendship and generosity or something else altogether?? :o

I rest my case till the Swede has appeared before the court and we know more facts!

  9. The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) has today written to Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra calling on his government to stop political interference in the media
“The IFJ calls on your government to withdraw from interfering in the media - both overtly, through direct ownership, and covertly, through pressure and manipulation of media owners,” he wrote.

    Great news!

Now Toxin is gonna be real mad! :o

  10. Reminds me of Life of Brian.
Wasn't it a really funny movie ? I loved it  Always look on the bright side of life
    Now there's an idea...I'll get a copy

One of my all-time favorites too.I've got it and also the rest of Monty Python on my hard disk. :D

You can download the whole lot free on Kazaa. :o

It takes some time but it's worth the effort! :D

    Cheers.

  11. BANGKOK: - Insurers are refusing to give health care cover to Thai politicians because many are checking into hospitals instead of hotels
"Some checked into hospitals despite being well.
But most still have millions of baht at their disposal for election campaigning

The diagnosis is that the political system is acutely SICK;and Thai politicians are chronic SICKOS! :o

  12. Everyone has the right to judge, I think, whether individuals, organisations or governments.
By all likelihood Thaksin is fast becomming a quiet dictator of a third world country

Wow!Spoiled little brat Toxin is throwing another of his pathetic tantrums and lashing out at his critics once again!! :D

His megalomaniac delusions of grandeur have been disturbed and now he reacts in the only psychological fashion his narcissistic personality allows him to-when dealing with any criticism-which is of course to retort to his critics by shouting abuse and threatening retaliation.

    Poor little rich boy. :D

Now he's gonna counter-attack with a similar report on the U.S.!

This clown is just too big for his breeches.

I think it's great that someone has the guts to stand up to this schoolyard bully by telling him a few truths straight to his face

None of the sycophants on the political scene in Thailand has the balls to do anything.

    Thank you Uncle Sam. :o

(Eventhough the current Commander in Chief is a theocratic moron)

More countries and domestic critics should follow suit and do the same thing because power is the only language this little narcissist and his political cult followers understand!

Farang-countries should adopt a unanimous policy of retorsion against Thailand.

Especially against rich Thais who own land and assets overseas.Hit them where it hurts them the most. That'd teach them some fair play.

Then consequently,Farangs wouldn't be treated as second-class citizens in the Realm anymore and Thailand would be nudged in a democratic direction with increased respect for human rights, accountability, tranparancy,

    no-more kangaroo courts etc.

That's the direction Thailand should go!

But if Toxin and his love-cult stay in power so long that they can impose their semi-secret nationalistic agenda and then also begin to build their utopian society based on their own fantasies, they will probably destroy this fair land as the Taliban once did in Afghanistan. :D

  13. to say that most Thais are kee neeo is quite rude.

I'm not being rude!I say it as it is!

Some Thais can be generous in some circumstances.

    Especially when making merits! :o

But a majority is stingy and greedy too!Often the rich ones! :D

Let me state it like this if Thai language script is supported in this thread...

    ผมคิดว่าคนไทยส่วนใหญ่ขี้เหนียวมากนะครับ แต่บางคนไม่เห็นแก่ตัว :D

    Cheers. :D

  14. Must be a scam against Skandia.
Reeks of a scam...but will anyone find out ?

I've been thinking along the same lines! There might be something fishy! :D

I read in the Swedish papers that the Swede had been visiting regularly for eleven years.

He and the owner of this holiday resort seem to be very chummy indeed.

    Almost like family! :o

The Swede accepts total responsibility for his actions and wants to compensate because he feels bad for his friends who has now lost everything.

Swedes seem to have automatic travel insurance coverage from their home insurance policy!

The bungalow owner paid the bail because the poor backpacker didn't have enough cash! Why?Aren't most Thais "kee neeo"! :D

I hope we can get follow-up coverage on how this story develops!

Will the accidental arsonist be imprisoned, allowed to leave for Sweden or will he become a shareholder in a holiday resort?? :D

  15. A hotel maid told investigators that on Friday night she saw rose petals in the couple’s bedroom forming the words “I love U”, Nipon said.
That was probably just his lame-assed way to take the suspicion off of him. Who knows what goes through the heads of psychos?

I think he did it out of guilt when he realized what he'd done! :D

This was probably a crime of passion and,as strange as it may seem,he did love her! :o

  16. All the leading Thai politicians including PM Thaksin have to declare their financial assets, yes. If so, how much does the PM state that he has? I'm not sure, but didn't he transfer most or all of his assets to family members to avoid any conflicts of interest
He should not be allowed to buy any football club. Just the same way we are not allowed to buy land or a house here in Thailand
Is he paying over or under the table?

He's given himself dispensation to money launder with impunity! :o

He knows what happened to Ferdinand Marcos et al. so it's good to have a retirement plan and a hobby in exile! :D

  17. this man is horrible !!! ... surely he's not a christian!!

You asked this rhetorical question because you were pretty sure what the answer was going to be and wanted to promote your own religion as morally superior! :o

It's fair to assume that the alleged murderer isn't a Christian because of both his surname and nationality but his religion isn't germane to this case and not to most others either.

Neither theists nor atheists commit the crime of murder.

    Only murderers do! :D

  18. The person must have left something in that suitcase for them to trace the identity. Possibly name or airline numbers or something. This person may have forgotten somehow in his haste to cover his tracks.

I listened to the Thai news on the radio and they said it happened like this...

He had packed his wife's bodyparts in two suitcases and hailed a cab to take him to Khrung Kasem. The cabbie took him down to Chao Phraya River instead and he got mad.

When they arrived at Khrung Kasem Canal, the taxi driver helped him to take the bags out of the trunk and he then noticed that blood had seeped out and called the police. They confirmed it was blood.

Nobody saw him throw the bags in the canal but they found them floating later.

The driver recognized the Israeli and police could apprehend him at his embassy where he was filing a "missing person's report".

The cops informed him that she wasn't missing anymore! :o
