  1. I came here for the Thai women and Thai men, which are my good friends I met in many years during plenty of holiday trips to LOS.

Climate and a bit cheaper life are another factor. As I kind of like Thai/Asian women, if I would go somewhere only for this reason (women), I would choose another country/continent. However, not so important anymore in my grandfather age of 50yrswink.png

  2. I think Chuck Taylor All Stars from Converse are sneakers and plimsolls. Sneakers is the american term (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plimsoll_shoe). And it seems they make them also in Thailand now, before I thought they made only in Indonesia (in asia). But this info will not help the OP anyway...For size UK13 maybe better order from home and declare the parcel as a present. Otherwise the possibilty is high to pay the tax(about 40% of the purchase price?), as happen to me a few years ago when order a pair of Van´s from a british online shop.

  3. As I believe, Thailand is one of the biggest "marriage markets" for western foreigners in the world, it will be easy to find somebody for sure. More difficult to find a lady friend, this seems very uncommon in the Thai culture. I made the mistake to find a lady friend on the above mentioned Thai Friendly. Even when they tell, they only want to improve their english language skills....well not really. It seems every Thai woman only wants to marry, the quicker the better. Unfortunatly not doable for a poor bugger like mewink.png .

Ah, and for the dress style...in my experience, when I wear just normal clothes like polo shirts, long sleeve trousers and shoes, many people(ladies) here think I am a gay man or katoy kwai or whatsoever. So I would recommend to wear flipflops, shorts and tank tops, thats what make a real man or so (I not do anyway).

  4. I would recommend "Mai´s Beauty and barber salon", make sure that the owner, Mai, is in the shop. It is located in the kad klang wiang on the corner of Ratchadamneon rd.(walking street) and Ratchapakeenai rd.

  5. Hello,

i am just curious if there will be another northern soul weekender next november. Last year I couldn´t make the trip from Chiang Mai. Webpage from siamsoulagogo not seems to work anymore, but maybe somebody have some information...

  6. I didn´t find a proper tea shop in CM yet. Seems to be more coffeedrinker over here.

Anyway, I like to drink good green tea and pu-erh tea. First one my friends from Guangzhou send to me if in need.

The pu-erh tea I find at the Warorot market, 100 gramm for 500 baht, similar quality and price than the one I bought before in a nice tea shop in Penang/Malaysia. As i remember, the owner of that shop told me, she have only a very few customer from Bangkok who spend some money on tea. So possibly the market for tea connaisseurs in Thailand is not that big? I dunno...

  7. I am member of this DVD shop. Unfortunatly the name is only in thai letter. The adress is: 289 Suthep rd. and it is located at the intersection Suthep rd. and the road to the 41 area. A good landmark is the small orange Daihatsu pick-up, parking on the sidewalk.
