  1. You also forgot that plenty of people buy expensive cars just because they CAN. Someone with a net worth in hundreds of millions (THB) couldn't care much whether the depreciation of a new car is one mil instead of just a half.

Yes - I agree with this and it explains the Ferraris and Bentleys in Bangkok, but it's the Golfs and Lexus (Lexi?) that baffled me, but perhaps as suggested by an earleir poster, it's the depreciation factor that closes the difference. Used cars here do seem to be very expensive

You're right. If you were here when the original Beetle came out you would notice how disproportionately many Bangkokians bought that car - and it probably wasn't the best deal back then. So yea, perhaps it is this urge to be different/original that's driving the purchases of these outrageously expensive imports. Who can blame them? I know I wouldn't drive a Camry if I had a billion baht.

  2. It's an attractive phone indeed. I wouldn't worry so much about the apps since there's an emulator coming up that will make it fully compatible with Android apps.

The screen is on par with super amoled, FM radio is hardware supported, Nokia GPS works great and the OS is optimized to take better advantage of the processor making it faster than comparable Androids...

I do not think it will be last Meego from Nokia, considering all the positive feedback and attention it's gotten lately.

The price is likely to be less than 20,000 Baht but availability in Thailand is still a big mystery.

  3. Comments about Thailand not being able to handle this are pure bs. The three plants are a necessity to ensure economic growth. The whole world is building these at the moment. Waste is not a problem as newer technologies will be able to use them for producing energy. Also, uranium is expected to last at least 100k years according to current predictions and not forgetting it's absolutely CO2 free.

  4. You better contact some research center. I know there is one that is offering big money for you if you can help them prove that with a 75 % chance. Have you thought of psychological councelling or psychoteraphy? Your problem is more probably from a real physiological condition, though. Get your blood-work tested and come back again.

  5. I didn't read the other posts, only the first one. 25,000 is normal for an REAL accounting jobs which are plentiful in Bangkok and easy to get with the right experience. Well, anyway, I don't think that should matter at all. You have got to be kidding be for even considering to give that girl money (something which has probably been said in every post so far).

  6. Welcome to the modern world. This is everyday life in Scandinavia.

No it isn't. 15-16 maybe, not 14. The average age of first sexual experience is around 16.5 years pretty much all over the world.

And if had a daughter she sure as hel_l wouldn't be spending the night with her boyfriend as long as she lived in my house. It's no secret that girls that age fall in love if you just smile and say a few nice words and the guys who have figured this out are not always the best company.

Of all the girls I knew growing up in the 90's, those that had a lot of boyfriends at age 14-16 are now mostly single moms on welfare.

Ask anyone who's that age and you will be shocked. It is sad really, but I have witnessed that myself by being a teenager not many years ago, plus I have relatives that are that age right now. :)
