  1. Not wanting to rain on anyone's parade, but …

It looks more like You Want to rain on others parade here.

Last night in the Telephone bar there was what one waiter described as a Farang Katoey. Most people who are that unattractive would have hidden themselves away like the Elephant Man but this creature was an exhibitionist; dancing in the aisles to the voice of the resident singer.

Unless i am wrong, but the topic of the thread was not "did you ever meet an unattractive tranny?".

There are transgender people that look ugly while other look beautiful

The same way there are gay people that look ugly while other look beautiful (many gay farang in the Telephone bar are very far from looking beautiful by the way).

The same there are straight people that look ugly while other look beautiful.

But if there is a post asking about gay friendly hotels, i wouldn't start talking about that Old fat Gay guy, that we could see his hairy stomach, and how it was also possible to see that he was wearing a thong and how sick it was..............etc. It is just not the subject we are talking about.

That is the main difference between Farang and Thai people, thai people live and let other people live and are tolerant. While Farang culture is not very tolerant if you are different. (Africans are black so it is ok to enslave them, native american are not civilized because they dress differently etc...)

I am not 6ft tall, and even while dressed like a boy many people that don't know me will use girls pronoun when talking with me.

My hands don't look like bunches of bananas. Even when dressed like a boy (yes i need to earn a living and i am still not out) i had many girls comment on how my hand are small and totally look like girls hand etc....

Does this mean in Europe/USA i was never discriminated against and treated correctly? while not dancing or acting like an exhibitionist i had random people tell me i deserved to die, that people like me should be killed etc....

Western Culture is transphobic and can not tolerate difference the same way Thai do.

A few weeks ago in the USA a Toddler was Beaten To Death For “Acting Like a Girl”

    http://ourcompass.wordpress.com/2010/08/11/toddler-beaten-to-death-for-acting-like-a-girl-how-gender-stereotypes-killed-a-young-child/

  2. I agree with this. I am also most surprised that there are so many people on this forum who are outspoken against the TG that night. I guess I was wrong about the gay bars, and that I said that Thailand is a good place to try yourself out and have a good time. Especially if you are not used to dressing up in your home country, and you come across as straight in your normal life, and maybe you are not the prettiest.

Or maybe it's just this forum that is intolerant?

i am transgender and i used to live in Thailand and Thailand is indeed a pretty tolerant place. I've been to many 100% thai area, non touristic places and i did not have any problem or any one treated me badly.

There was only one case when a farang did attack me in a club (was a gay night), and Thai people working there came to my rescue immedialty and even kicked him out of the venue. (in western world in many cases if you are transgender people will not help you when attacked- and just think you deserve it because you are transgender)

  3. Having lived both in Thailand and the western world and myself being one of those dirty freaks of nature. i would like to answer the initial question: why there is more LB in Thailand that in Europe or the USA?

Thailand: it is tolerated and accepted and kathoey makes part of the society and no one will stare or say rude things or make you life difficult.

Western world: if you are kathoey expect a lot of hatred, being a kathoey equal taking the risk of being beaten raped or even killed. In the best case people will stare and make rude comment and that will be your day to day life. When you are in a situation where you have the risk of loosing familiy friends job and having very little chances of finding any proper job then many people will hide it instead of being them self.

i have a friend that was disowned and kicked from house by her mother while she was still a teen. How much hatred does it take a MOTHER to throw in the street her own daughter? How much hate is needed for a father to beat her daughter to the point she finish in hospital? you can rape a girl or sell drugs or kill someone and family in the western world will stand by you and support you and visit in prison but if you are transgender there more chances of them not supporting you or even disowning you.

    does this answer the question?

    Best Regards,

    Freak of nature.

  4. Bob,

i would say that you absolutely have nothing to fear in Thailand, in my experience it is one of the most open and tolerant places i've seen.

i was attacked insulted harressed ect..... in different parts of the world but never ever in Thailand, people will not even stair or give you any look.

  5. Like Noctiluca astutely pointed out, not understanding the language and the cultural subtext make most foreigners oblivious to the prejudices. Also like he said, if you have enough money, it can be paradise anywhere.

seem discrimination exist in every corner of the world, it most a question of how visible it is or not.

true that if one has money any part of the world can look nice but not necessarily, out of a night club in Germany i was once told that people like me don't deserve to be alive and should rather be dead. what did having money or not make it paradise or not? i can have millions but Texas will not be a paradise but rather a jail. of course if you have money then you can live in any part of the world.

  6. Does a paradise exist for LGTB people? no. but Thailand compared with the rest of the word is a paradise for LGTB people.

in a whole year i did not experience any bad incidence in thailand, either by attacking me or insulting me or even starring at me. in other part of the world i had people telling me that someone like me should be dead and i am talking about cities that praise it self as friendly and tolerant and open minded and no i did not need to stay in those places for a years as a few days were enough.

no place is 100% perfect, but while been totally our in thailand no one told me anything rude or bad or was not polite and nice to me. in Europe and the USA without even being out to people they would thing they have the right to be rude toward me just because i am difference.

  7. So essentially, I am in Thailand as a refugee from ignorance, hate, greed (consider wall street), intolerance

i am thinking about doing the same

the type of accidents below http://ginmar.livejournal.com/1622768.html

"Some trans people are killed as the result of being denied medical services specifically because of their trans status, for example, Tyra Hunter, a transsexual woman who died in 1995 after being in a car accident. EMTs who arrived on the scene stopped providing her with medical care—and instead laughed and made slurs at her—upon discovering that she had male genitals."

makes me think it would be very dangerous to transition and not live in Thailand.

  8. I know the gay scene here in Bangkok quite well and do socalize with thai gay quite often. They do take me to their places and we tend to have fun, but they are not even mentioned once on here or other sites. From my observation, if you live in Thailand, you should get out and check the other areas out, really.

Thanks Chuck for the list, would you say it is worth it if you are alone and don't speak at all Thai to check those places?

  9. Go where you feel comfortable and happy but please don't be so judgemental about others and why they go elsewhere.

i agree with you here, i just did say i prefer a club on another because of this but i did not say if it is good or bad what other people do.

i might say that a restaurant is better than another for me because food is not too spicy but it does not mean i consider people loving spicy food as bad or good people.

Ask yourself why there are so many moneyboys around ... there's a market for them!

indeed there is a market for them.

  10. i've been there a number of time, and i thought i'll share why i like it.

    1) i did not see money boys and the hungry sex tourist hungry to go out with a boy 3 time less his age and weight.

    2) less crowded and the crowd is smaller which make it easier to make friend and have random conversations.

    3) if you go there a number of time the staff and waitress they start to know you and greet you.

    4) true you have those having no idea it is a pink night :o but then this is bangkok where who you are does not matter.

what i look for is not to have a date , but more to make new friends and chat with new people and i don't find places like DJ stations or others the ideal place. or at least for me.

  11. just thought i would post this pic of a german ladyboy that i ran across today:

    from the Telegraph

well when a transgender boy start treatment before puberty or before hitting the age of 18 then they pass very well as a woman. here Kim was lucky to have open minded parent so she transitioned quite early. otherwise in many case when transitioning after the age of 18 the person is more or less fuc_ked up.

  12. 25-45, gay, professional/entrepeneur. No relaxation of the requirements, which means there is an objective or plan. What could it be?

well while i understand the professional part because this is business networking, would it be wise to refuse a business man that is 50 year old?

rumors is that men after the age of 45 have trouble maintaining an erection :o

  13. other young (45 and below but above 25) gay entrepreneurs or working professionals out there who wanna get together on a monthly basis in Bangkok. (please no bar owners or bar patron types!).

if i can translate the above i will say

gay entrepreneurs or working professionals (please no bar owners or bar patron types!): some one that i can do business with or bring me referrals.

(45 and below but above 25) : if the above does not take place, maybe i still have a chance to fuc_k with them hahah :o

  14. Hi

Just checking if there are other young (45 and below but above 25) gay entrepreneurs or working professionals out there who wanna get together on a monthly basis in Bangkok. (please no bar owners or bar patron types!). I can arrange a couple of five star hotels as the venue along with the catering to start it off. Drop me an pm if anyone is interested.

i wouldn't say a 5 star hotel venue is necessary unless you have 15-20 people at least attending the event, if you have 4-5 people in the beginning you will be lucky so i will say a nice coffee shop will not be bad for a start hihi.

let me know if an event take place and i might be interested depending on how much free time i have or not.
