I went to the Terrace to try their pastrami but they only had Rueben and it was very disappointing.
It had couple of slices of meat, if you can call it that, and russian dressing wasn't up to the par either.
In L.A. we have a place call Langer's that has a thick juicy slab of pastami with fresh baked rye bread.
That's what I was craving for.
Well, I guess I am not in L.A. anymore......

I live on next soi to Emporium.
I will stop by tomorrow and let you guys know how it is.

Thanks, Mac.
I think I know the area.

I am craving for a nice thick pastrami sandwich. I was desperate so I went to Subway but they don't even carry the pastrami. Is there a really good deli in Bangkok? Please help!!!!!!

Thanks, dotcom.
I will look into it.

Where is the closest DMV near Sukhumvit 26?
I would like to get a Thai driver's license.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

I totally agree with you, Tyke.
It's the style.
I went to furniture fair in Bangna today and saw some solid wood furnitures.
And they were soooooooo not my taste.
SB and Index have nice solid wood beds and real leather sofas.
Not everything they have are veneered.

Thanks, I was planning to go to MBK this week.
-
Thank you onethailand.
I am looking for better quality furniture.
If SB is higher in quality, then, I will go with SB.
-
Hopefully for good.
I just found a condo and probably kick back for awhile then I will look for a small business to run.
Not enough nest egg to retire and still young at 40something.
-
Thanks Klyph.
But I am looking for little more comtemporary furniture and maybe balck and white.

I need to furnish my condo and I was wondering which company is better.
Index or SB Furniture.
Which has more selections and better quality?
And any suggestions about eletronic store that has audio, vedio and home appliances?

I need a handyman to do a minor work like installing a glass shower door, moving a A/C unit...
Anyone know of a decent handyman in Bangkok?
He doesn't need to speak English as I have a Thai girlfriend.
Thanks in advance for your input.

Great infos, everyone.
Thank you.
I arrived in Bangkok day before yesterday and still suffering from jet lag.
I am considering living in Bangkok for now since I have to get back to making a living after awhile.
But I'll keep all the suggestions in mind when I visit Pattaya and HH.
And maybe someday soon, I will be able to buy second home by the beach.

It would help to know where you are situated.
joskydive,
I am in Bangkok and looking for someone in CBD.
Thanks.

I want to set up a Thai Limited Company and I am hoping someone could recommend an attorney or a CPA other than your usual Sunbelt or Siam Legal.
Thank you all in advance for any recommendation.

Well, Chaimai, I am a single male with TGF and really looking to kick back and relax after working over twenty years.
I am not retired but trying to take couple of years off before starting again.
I am not looking to party anymore and from what I hear Pattaya is very active party town.
Fact that Pattaya is close to Bangkok is plus but I want peace and quite. Beautiful beaches and breathtaking sunset is must.
Carefull with taking a couple of years off and then going back. I took a couple of years off in 1984 (on my 50th birthday) and never did make it back to work. Found out it is way to much fun being retired.
Let me confuse the issue a little more, my wife and I live in Cha Am about 15-20 minutes north of HH
Since you not into the party scene it might suit you.
It is quieter than HH
No night life
IMHO better beaches than HH
Less expensive than HH
Closer to BKK
Not as close to mall shopping
Great fresh food market
Not yet discovered by farangs much
A nice place to live.
But suggest you come to LOS rent for 6-12 months and look around. I think it is a nice place to live.
I can't retire yet, I don't have enough nest egg.
I was looking at couple of condos in Cha Am, and you are right, they are cheaper than HH.
How far is it from the shopping malls?
I don't need to go into town everyday but I don't want to drive 2 hours to shop.

Thanks, steveromagnino.
Great info.

Then if I were you I would rent a place in each location for 6 months similar to the type of place you would eventually buy and see how you feel after that. You might not like either and then would at least only have wasted some rent money.
I think that is really good idea.
Thanks dsfbrit.

Thank you, gentlemen.
It sounds like Huahin fits what I am looking for except for the distance from Bangkok.
Although I would like to hear from someone about Pattaya.....

I am looking for a beach front condo but I don't know where to look.
Which is better community to kick back and enjoy the sun?
Convenience to bangkok is must.
Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks everyone.
As your average Asian American I shouldn't have problem finding clothes.
And Ulysses, as far as Mexican Food goes I, as an Angeleno, am partial to El Tajurino.
Best tacos and burritos in L.A.
Jingthing, thanks. Since I use Fusion I will go to Costco and stock up years worth.

I am finally moving to Bangkok in August.
What are the items do I need to bring from the States?
Are there somethings you can't find or too expensive in Bangkok?
Thank you in advance for any input.
30days Tourist Visa
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
I am an American and came in with 30days tourist visa.
I am currently applying for an one year ED visa but have not received an approval letter from the Ministry of Education yet.
My question is, can I get another 30days visa if I go to SG for a day?
Or do I have to stay for more than a day?
I would appreciate any input on this matter.
Thanks.
