  1. Hello everybody,

This is my first time here to ask you all for your help.

I am trying to teach my students an English musical for when the 6th grade will have to say goodbye from the school. For so far I know this has never been done in Thailand (I could be wrong at this ). But the students are so excited and willing to learn in this smile.png

The musical is about two groups of street dancers (the musical is called "move it " )

To teach the students the English isn't the problem , but to teach them how to dance is sad.png .

So now I am hoping that there are some people nearby who know how to street dance and are willing to come to the school and explain/ teach the student this.

The school is located in Song Phi Nong, Suphanburi .

Hope to hear some good news biggrin.png

    Thanks in advance

  2. group b tells you Holland, but i am sorry Holland isn't a country.......Netherland is what the country is called

  3. “…really can you please back up your claim. I know two people that have this card with wp and we're assigned to siracha queens hospital. I applied for my wp last week and was told I would be assigned a hospital 5 days after getting my w p.

Normally you have to be in the system for a time before they issue you a card or assign a hospital. You basically aren’t covered during that period.

I don’t know why the Labor Office would be talking about Social Security. Those are two completely different agencies. WP’s and SS have nothing to do with each other.

“The school should be deducting and paying your social insurance irrespective of whether you are in a private or government school. Just because it is a private school it is not immune from paying social fee, if you have a work.permit.”

Private school employees were taken out of the SS system a number of years ago.

Having a WP does not entitle you to SS.

“Are you working legally, i.e. with the correct visa and workpermit? If so, the school should provide you with the social security, if not, you're working illegally, you have virtually no rights.

Not every person working legally is eligible for SS.

You actually have a lot of rights under the Labor Act, even working without a WP.

“I work legally and have all the proper papers such as workpermit, ministry of education (krusapa) and my visa. I work for 2 school that are temple schools, but i teach for free. maybe this is the cause why i didn't enroll yet.

Temple schools are not government schools, I assume. That is why you aren’t enrolled – you aren’t eligible.

“I turn 60 later this year and am planning to retire in mid 2015. In my case:

    1. I am presently an insured person, and will remain so while I am employed (and contributions are being made) whether on or after my 60th birthday.

    2. On the above basis, I understand I can retain SS membership after retirement in 2015.”

(“if you're over 60 the government will not admit you to its health scheme.”)

I think you misread what was said. The person wrote that if 60,you won’t be admitted to the system. In your case, you are already in the system, so can remain in it.

Yes, you can remain in the system when you retire, quit work, are fired or lose eligibility any other way.

The fee is 432 baht a month. There is a simple form to fill out at the SS Office.

Thank you for this helpfull information :) Now i took my own insurance by AIA .

  4. Maybe a stupid question, but i have a workpermit for 4 serried years already. I work as a teacher English, but never recieved a card for healthcare. Is this something everybody always gets or this depend on the arrangement with your school? Please help me out here. Thank you.

Are you working legally, i.e. with the correct visa and workpermit? If so, the school should provide you with the social security, if not, you're working illegally, you have virtually no rights.

  5. to donate money for poor students there is also a foundation for in thailand.this foundation has the intention to go nation wide, but is just founded.

    see: www.kfforganization.org

this organization will provide all that is needed for the students to go to learn up to m3.

No street address, no names, but there is a PayPal site to donate your money (to what/whom and for what is not clear).

<p>Good luck with all that, [email protected]!!

already updated. the site is brandnew, so here and there some missings

the bankaccount on the name of the organization is pending, it should be there in 2-4 weeks. we are waiting for the last paper from the headoffice in Suphanburi.

and ni names is not true, see the tab about kfforganization.

but it is easy to make a comment, but not easy to do something good.

i spend 200.000 bath of my own pocket to get al the papers done. and yes it is true not everything is done , but you can read that also on the website. i qoute: when we are official we will tell it here.

  6. but when you want to teach for for free in your local school you have to do everything .and it is not even sure that you get an aproval from the teachers council......

i am busy with my papers and teached in the netherlands for 5 years . but even now i have to wait for there green light. (and they told me already i have to study here for 1 year, witch i am not intended to do )

i live here now for 4 years already, speak a hand full off thai, learned the culture, but clearly it is not enough.

this is what i do not understand when they are short of teachers .

  7. and where is this pong nam? i cannot find it on the map. i really like to know fr driving there myselfes

    Almudena:

Can you remember the name of the shop you booked this visa run with ??? 1700 baht is a good price... I would like to try their service for my next visa run.

That puzzled me a bit............1700 baht sounds like a coach as opposed to a mini-bus and i never realised any coaches did that run. I know the outfit in Soi Bourkhao opposite the end of Soi Lengkee do the run but have never used them..........i have used in the past 5 Star visa Runs who operate out of The Sportsman Soi 13 2300 baht last time i went.........would use them again.

    Booked it through:-

    CAMBODIA INTER TRAVEL LTD

    261/5 SOI BUAKHAO

    TEL: 038-421590

If you go along Soi Buakhao (from Pattaya Tai, they are on the right side of the road with a blue sign that says "visa run to Cambodia 1700baht". They even ring you up the night before to comfirm.

I was expecting a coach to pick us up as I travel better on coaches opposed to minibuses. But to my surprise it was a minibus. There were 8 of us in the minibus. No entertainment, but comfertable.

As I said before the cost for me was 1700baht and 400baht for my Thai wife (as she likes shopping in Cambodia). There is a market near by the Cambodian immagration office for shopping while you wait to get your passport back as this company has a Cambodian representive who takes care of everything so you don´t have to queue and wait and because of this representive, this is why they can do it so cheap.

As before I´ve used the border at Klong Yai and paid 1300baht for the visa PLUS they want an extra 300 for leaving the same day.

So before this new border opened I´d started useing the border at Mea Sot (TAK) as with the train fare and hotel to get up there and back from Pattaya was cheaper than useing Klong Yai.

At the moment they run a bus only twice weekly, but I´m sure this will increase to a daily service with demand.

Freindly tip for EU passport holders:- When you get your passport back and you have been re-admitted back into Thailand. Very carefuly peel off the visa from Cambodia as qickly as possable before the glue dries. Then you have a free page left. As 30/46 page passports don´t last very long when you have to do visa runs. :o

  8. which bridge you mean?

we went monday the 26th to mae sot and it was closed. had to go to laos they said and so we did.

does anybody have a telefoon number from mea sot? it would be welcome, then i phone them first before we travel 500km

    monique

called that number, ext 12, told I can do it, same bridge, etc

    thanx for your replies

    went on saturday,4pm.

Tried to pay $10 but burma customs insisted it was 500bt after 12am.

market was flooded so could not go shopping in burma

had to be back by 5pm when the border closed

  9. Let's face it...

    01. Still a very tight group of people run the show, like some 0.8X per cent of the populous which own every thing

    02. Thailand is now a G20 member and no more 'golden triangle' or 'tiger' - state & desperately tries to westernize; i.e. 'jay-walking' laws

    03. There's much concern about Farang mingling into the power circles - protectionism - see Russian & Western housing/building companies

    04. Wouldn't you be kind of jealous or 'not amused' to see places and the stuff going on in like Pattaya as a Thai citizen - brothels etc.

    05. You can get teachers and other low level 'employees' from countries like the Philippines or Morocco for a 1/3 of what 'white people' get

    06. There seems to be a movement to regain control of certain areas & get rid of people which just bump around in 'their' country

    07. Everyone in the region sees the ASEAN Union as the emerging force which makes 'western investment' rather unnecessary / avoidable

    08. We see enough coverage in the media of Farang's bad behavior, i.e. the Australian Mom stealing sitting matts & swinger cartels

    09. Aggression is best focused against 'outsiders' to divert the internal struggles, i.e. yellow vs. red shirts (which is a farce)

    10. We can just hope that it will not end in repossession-ism / deportation B$

Please read and think twice if you will; this is not a condemnation but a point of view and many of you I guess have seen similar movements and streams. Honestly I am sick of the newsletter when every second blurp is dealing with 'crackdowns' on this and that. As for myself, I always tried to maintain a respectful and honest approach to the Thai's in general but I also am concerned of the 'status' of the Farang's image in the Kingdom. There is a breaking point in every relationship sometimes; sorry to say, but these messages simply tell: 'Behave, play after our rules or be kicked out / not allowed to come back'. Seriously hoping that our 'image' and 'treatment' will continue on a basis of mutual understanding and R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

    Thanks for your time

    &

stay healthy and happy in this wonderful country!!!

    :)

    this is true!!

sorry to tell everyone, but if we just behave ourselves then nothing was going wrong.

and as it always was..the good suffer from the bad.....

it is logic what they do now

  10. In my circumstances last year i payed 15'000 baht for a Non-Imm B multi entry visa. My visa ran out 16th March so Im now back in UK and will apply for another similar visa. I called a company the other day and they told me for 25'000 baht they will issue me with a Non-Imm B visa which is valid for 1 year without having to make any border crossings. Additional to that they tell me after 3 consecutive years using this visa I will be illegible for a 10 year semi retirement visa. I personally believe its expensive but what else can we do?

One year B visa with no border runs and a 10 year semi-retirement visa? Sounds like someone is selling snake oil to me. Visas are issued by governments - not by companies.

Yes of course but i get my visa through a company who deal with all the paperwork required, and then my passport is sent to the Thai embassy for final processing

for 15 k i want to have a workpermit, but i think it will not that easy. you say they will take care of all the paperwork. but if you do franchisers work you cannot get a permit that easy.

if they do it that easy, without asking what you do or want to do please let me know

  11. Everyone who is over 18 years old, speak thai (only english is also welcom but hard to speak with the thai people then)

this is about a german produkt new in thailand.

it is a franchise job , so this means it is on commission , you earn for your selling . you can earn between 100 bath and 5000 bath a day, depend on how good you are.

only for people in the province suphanburi!!!!!!

for information you can call: 08-67928063

    with kind regards,

monique paanakker, song phi nong, suphanburi

  12. I was really contemplating moving to Thailand for my retirement in 18 months time, but now I'm wondering if its going to be worth it :o

1 I have to have 800.000 bht in a bank which dont pay any interest

2 I can only buy a condo, asuming its a majority of Thais who own it

3 I will face a 2 teir system of pricing (Thai and Farang)

4 I have to contend with a Bht that is all over the place with exchange rates

5 I have to report every 90 days to immigration to prove I'm still capable of staying

6 I dont mind getting all the paperwork (like a retirement visa)

7 But I think I'm going to end up like a second class citizen

8 All I wanted to do is live out my time in relative comfort, with my ENGLISH wife, (not a Thai wife or any other import, unless you include Liverpool in that :D )

9 As much as I like and enjoy the Thai people, I dont like being laughed and spoken about in a language I know very little of (as I have read in the forums here

10 Are Farangs actually wanted here in Thailand ? (either as tourists or retirees ?)

Can anyone just give me a 'heads up' on this ?

Not a slagging off or a slating, just helpfull advice, please

    IS IT worth it ?

that depents on what you expect to find here and specialy where in thailand you want to live.

we are a complete dutch family, live upcountry. to give you answers:

1 we are not 50 years or older so this rule i donot know

2 we own a house with land by a compagny with indeed 49% of theshares, but we have shares that have a vallue of 3 votes and the that have shares with a vallue of 1 vote. so notting wrong

3 we pay the same as the thai here in the stores, even in the market. so no difference

4 the bath exancerate is not always the same that is true

5 you can send a paper every 90 days to the immigration nearrest to your home.

6 you have to by verry patient with this, it takes a lot of time. the firdt visa please make in your homecountry, much easier

7 we are here the same, and sometimesmore. they respect us and help us without paying them

8 up to you what you want, but by carefull with thai people in you house!!!!

9 sure they laugh, they do with and to us also. but in our case because we make some mistakes with the language and due to other habbits

    10 we feel wanted.

our visa is still a non immigrant o multiple entrys, we go every year to the netherlands for it. we donot have to show 800.000 bath into the bank, we only show money comming in every month.

our doughter now speaks thai verry good (after 22 months) and we a little. but that is no problem at all.

if you have questions please feel free to contact us

  13. Not sure that I understand any of this. I am here on a Non Imm O Visa, Multiple Entry. I have always left within the 3 months.

I have a Thai wife and children.

I arrived the last time on 5th Oct and I am not due to leave until 27th Jan so I booked a flight to go to Singapore last week to renew my visa and of course couldn't leave.

I can show both 50,000 + per month and 400,000 + in my bank.

Does this mean that I can now stay up to a year without having to leave. Do I not have to go out of the country before 5th Jan now.

Just a quick visit to immigartion office on Hua Hin to get an extension??

Be really grateful for a clear answer. Many thanks

Yes, you meet the requirements for a one year extension.

so if i read this right we do not have to leave thailand anymore every 90 days? non immigrant o visa multiple entry we have.we are not married with a thai

  14. This is confusing the hel_l out of me... OK guys laymans terms please, heres my situation:

We are a british couple and ive bought a condo in Pattaya. At the moment im still working overseas and at best would only spend 1 month at a time in the country before leaving again so no probelm there. So lets look at worse case, I find myself out of work, im only 45 so no retirement visa option and I dont want to return to the UK to support Alistair Darlings retriement fund...

So to live in Thailand for a whole year (or 5 year if they are still available) , what visa do I apply for and how much do i need in the bank... thats it pure and simple.

    Nidge

Youll more or less in the same situation as my brother,

from what hes told me, he will need to do the 60 day tourist visa which he does from KL, then do 15 *6 border runs then start the process again, apart from marrying a thai lady he hasnt any other options as there are no visas from what I know of for non worker under 50 not married to a thai.

if he get from anyone a paper with in that a agree for rent then he can aply for a 1 year visa multiple entry

  15. This is confusing the hel_l out of me... OK guys laymans terms please, heres my situation:

you do just the same as us.

we go every year to our homecountry for a non immigrant multiple entry visa. we egt it on base of our income and we own (by my compagnie) a house and land. that is the netherlands enough to get your visa

  16. so if i am reading everything correctly them we have no problem at all.

we are a family of 3 dutchman (me my husband and our doughter) not 50 or older( and not work here). and have a income from netherland of 80.000-90.000 bath a month (depent of the euro versus bath). every year we fly to netherland for our visa and we go every 90 days to the border.

You are not on an extension of stay, so this does not relate to you. You can still get a multiple non-immigrant and get 90 days at the border.

    tnkx for your qiuck reply
