1. It is not the same as a visa on arrival. A visa on arrival only allows a 15 day stay after you apply for it and pay a 2000 baht fee if your are from one the 18 countries allowed to apply for it. 2. You do not have to pay anything when entering visa exempt. 3. You get 30 days now. For a few months they increased it to 45 days due to the 14 day quarantine period. 4. The airline can ask for a ticket out of the country within 30 days. It can be a one way flight to anywhere. Immigration does not normally ask to see the ticket out of the country. 5, You apply for one 30 day extension at immigration. You have to apply for a Thailand Pass to enter the country. If doing the Test & Go entry after March 1st you will need to reserve a 1 night stay at a SHAplus+ or AQ hotel and a RT-PCR test and then on day 5 do a self test using a ATK and submit the results.

The embassy in Washington DC states this "2.4 Proof of flight confirmation/reservation, indicating the trip from the US to Thailand" but I suspect the e visa site will ask for a departure ticket. Soruce: https://thaiembdc.org/2020/12/28/special-tourist-visa-stv/ (LA consulate website takes you to the same page for the STV See: https://thaiconsulatela.org/en/visa/visa-type/) Either change your reservation or get a temporary onward ticket (search for owner ticket) to submit for the application. LA is a official Thai consulate. There can only be one embassy in a country.

Couple of questions about ED visa.

Leaving without canceling your extension based upon attending a school will not crate any problems when your return. At one time their was limit on the amount of time you could study a language by taking advanced courses for an additional 6 months. Their has not been a lot of discussions about language schools since the pandemic started. You would not have a problem if you changed languages to study. -
CW immigration covid ext embassy letter
ubonjoe replied to RoyLee's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I don't think the Canadian embassy will issue the letter. Perhaps send a email to them asking about it. A letter from you emassy is not normally needed now. You just complete a affidavit. The agent was wrong. The order for them has been expended to March 25th. What type of visa did you use to enter the country/ -

I don't recall immigration putting anything but it being a visa free entry on the arrival stamp. This is what is normally what is written in Thai. -
Covid extension for HK passport applicable?

In the past the Hong Kong citizens could not apply for the 30 day extension due to their visa exempt entry being from a bilateral agreement. But now Hong Kong is also under the standard visa exempt scheme now. If you download the file I posted a link for you will see what I am say plus there is addition info at the page. This the clause of the immigration order that allows for the visa exempt extensions. (2) is probably the reason you cannot get the extension since Hong Kong was not on the basic visa exempt list before. I suggest you try to show immigration the list of countries that are now on the standard visa exempt list. -

You can only fly into Cambodia at this time and need a Thailand Pass when returning to Thailand. -
Covid extension for HK passport applicable?

You can try to get immigration to cancel the 7 days to leave the country and possibly do the 30 day extension. Children under the age of 15 do not pay overstay fines when leaving the country but it is always best to keep their stay in the country valid. -
You will be extending your 90 day permit to stay (it is not visa) for 60 days that will start from March 9th not the day you apply. Clarifications of some your list follows. A signed copy done by the mother of her and you child's tambien ban registry will be needed. Signed copy of her ID card as well. You daughter will need to be with you and the her mother as well if possible. A statement by the mother that you are living with her and your daughter. The only photo you should only be the 4 X 6 cm photo for the TM7 application form.

Covid extension for HK passport applicable?

The 7 days is to leave the country not a extension. I think immigration is not aware that Hong Kong at this time qualifies for a normal visa exempt entry instead of it being under a bilateral agreement. See this list for visa exemptions from the Department of Consular Affairs of the MFA in English and Thai. List of countries for visa exempt and visas on arrival dated October 2021. Look at the bottom of the page the note that is for double asterisk on the list of countries. You do qualify for the the 60 day covid 19 extension as well.
