Got a 1 TB Western Digital for 6,050 baht at Pantip today. Yeah......time to download..

if money is no object and reliability is the main thing you're after. There is only one choice. La Cie
Indeed, LaCie is far superior in quality and reliability than the cheaper brands (WD, Buffalo, Seagate), but they cost more as well, so as usual most people go for the cheaper options.
Interesting (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LaCie), will have a look at it for sure. Thanks.

Gents,
Thanks for sharing your experience and all the good advices. Will head over to Pantip today and see what I can get.

I had a look at 1 TB Western Digital (made in Thailand) external hard-drive. It looked good, but will check again on the disk size.
-
I am looking for an external hard-drive (500 GB), but no sure what model to get.
What is best, most reliable and easy to use?
Are all external hard-drives "plug & play" or does some models require a driver installed to run?

Danish Carlsberg Logo on Liverpool's Shirt to Appear in Chinese
29.04.2010 | news Newsdesk
Danish Carlsberg is bidding to increase its brand awareness in China with a novel one-off marketing ploy which will see its logo on Liverpool football kit written in Chinese.
The specially designed kit will appear in Liverpool's match against Chelsea on 2 May and marks the first time the logo on the kit has changed in 18 years.
The lager brand is using the shirt sponsorship to capitalise on the interest of football fans in China. The move also ties in with the brewer's role as partner of the Danish Pavilion at the World Expo 2010 event in Shanghai.
The event in Shanghai takes place on the same day as the match between Liverpool and Chelsea.
The Danish beer's longstanding sponsorship of Liverpool Football Club concludes at the end of the current season and will be replaced by Standard Chartered Bank.
The game is expected to attract over 750m viewers around the world and Chinese messages will be displayed during the match on the LED perimeter advertising hoardings around the pitch at Anfield.
The messages will read 'Carlsberg is partner of Danish Pavilion in World Expo - Carlsberg & Liverpool Cheer for World Expo'.
Carlsberg took over the sponsorship of Liverpool in 1992. Liverpool's first sponsor was Hitachi, followed by Crown Paints and Candy.
Liverpool, which has been twinned with Shanghai since 1999, is the only UK city to be exhibiting at World Expo 2010.
Keld Strudahl, group sponsorship director at Carlsberg, said: "We're delighted to have been able to bring about this momentous occasion. We believe it's a nice little gesture to our friends and fans of Liverpool in China where we know Liverpool FC devoted huge support in working things out and we also worked hard with all parties to mark this special occasion for the World Expo."
In April Carlsberg renewed its sponsorship of Wembley Stadium, signing a new four-year deal to remain the 'Official Beer of Wembley Stadium'.
The deal takes the partnership through to 2014 and covers all England football international home games, FA Cup matches, play-off finals and all major music events at the stadium.
The specially designed kit will appear in Liverpool's match against Chelsea on 2 May and marks the first time the logo on the kit has changed in 18 years.

Better re-check your math, mate.
Hmm not so sure mate, 150 baht = £3, 2 x bottles of beer = 1 pint, therefore 2 x 150 bottles = 1 pint = 300 baht = £6, surely?
1 pint = 568.26 ml = 1.722 bottles of beer of 330 ml each ~ £5.30

Unless you plan to live permanently in Hua Hin and use the house as your primary home, then don't buy.
Crime is an issue in Hua Hin and your home will get broken into if left vacant for a long time.

Isn't Kho Kham close to Sattahip?
How about Kho Man Nok: http://www.discoverythailand.com/Rayong_Ko..._of_Islands.asp
I haven't been there myself yet, but how about the 2 islands south of Kho Chang: Kho Mak and Kho Kut.
The northern part of the Andaman sea could also be interesting, just kind of far away from Bangkok: http://www.andaman-island-hopping.com/overviewnorth.htm
When are we going??

Just pick the one with the biggest breast and you will live happily ever after....

At least you are not complaining about the air quality or water level in the Mekong river, which seem to be a favourite among the northern farang population.
Get a sling shot, have a few cold ones, enjoy the sunset and teach the local dogs a lesson.

Hmmmmmm. Not trying to be TOO sarcastic but if I was in Canada And I spoke english I would ask an english speaking person where it was. She is Thai? Can she just not ask someone in Thai where it is? They would probably know more then us farangs here.
You know, these are the type of responses that often make me think twice before posting a question on this forum. If tou don't know the answer then why waste time posting something that is both unhelpful and sarcastic.
You can often ask a local a question and even though they are Thai they either don't know the answer or give you wrong information rather than saying nothing at all. My take is there are a number of farangs with Thai wives or girlfriends who might have recently gotten a new ID and know the location, so what's the big deal of posting the question here?
It would be excellent if you think twice before posting a question. Then to help people give you a useful reply, you may get all the information into the first post which you have not done here.
Have your wife call her friend in Bkk for directions, the friend who took her to the office. That friend is someone who most likely knows where they went, nobody on this forum knows but can only guess. Is there a new Rimping somewhere near the moat?
Maybe it is easier to get a new wife with an already existing ID card.

I have tried to work in minus 48 C in Siberia and looking at Ratchadamri road right now, it would do Thailand well with temperatures like that for a few weeks.
