I've been working in Thailand for about a year. I have a valid work permit that expires at the end of next month. I intend to change jobs starting May.My previous employer has not yet cancelled my work permit, although I'm no longer working there. I was made aware that I have to exit Thailand to acquire a new Non-Immigrant 'B' Visa in so as to facilitate obtaining a new Work Permit with my prospective employer.

Does anyone know if it is wrong to obtain a new Non-Immigrant 'B' Visa using another company without your previous company cancelling your Work permit?

Will Immigration ask for the 'letter from the Labour department stating that I have cancelled my Work Permit'?

Your advice will be highly appreciated.

Don't know how many basketball fans...college bball fans to be spcific...are in Phuket. But I'm in desperate need for my "march madness" basketball fix. If it wasn't for the agency, I'd have got my WP in a week as well. As soon as my school noticed my boss hadn't got me a WP, they kicked her ass out and asked me to join them directly. A week later I had my work permit. About 3months later I got my Thai teacher's licence, valid for 5years

Good luck man. I suppose you've heard it all in here. Thai girls are known to be drama and you're most likely to come head-on with that. You've been in Bangkok for a month. I'm not sure if you were in Thailand before then, but I would advice you to get to learn more about her before you make the move. Good luck again.

That's really tragic. I just read on the BKK post that 'Video footage from surveillance cameras installed on the bridge has also been checked, but no clues have been found so far.
