     Anyone know if Nana Post Office is open today , 14 Oct. 2022 Friday. I read that 14 & 15 Oct. were added government holidays and don't want to go there if closed. Thank You for any help.  Dennis.

     I did a search but it is confusing. I have a O-A visa for retirement and need to renew the extension of stay , it is due on 4 November. I got the LMG insurance and received a renewal letter that has renewal at same as last year or new higher limit. I renew at Cheangwattana Immigration Bangkok and need get insurance that they will accept. I sent them a email for info. but don't expect to get correct info. from them.  Does anyone know if the new higher limit is required for renewal?

     I applied for a new passport by mail 14 Sept. 2022 and received it 7 Oct.2022. I checked online and could not find the option of paying with a bank draft as in previous info. . I sent a email to the embassy and the following is the reply.

I am wondering if the system is just comparing the last log on name to the new entry and rejecting it because it is not the same. I am going to try it one more time when next 90 day report is due, if still rejected try to get a new e-mail address and do mine and wife's on separate accounts. Any other suggestions apperciated .

     I am having a problem with the new 90 day report system. I signed up with my e-mail address and received a password. I did my first report and it got approved then a couple of weeks later I did my wife's and it got approved. I did my second report and received a e-mail it was rejected ( data not correct -name ) I checked and all info. is the same as first time except the date submitted. I did my wife's second report and it came back approved. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?                                                   Thanks in advance for any help.

     I am trying to find a website that was posted recently for services and countries Thai post office is currently servicing. I tried searching but no luck. If anyone knows of the site could you please post it so I can check it before I go the next time.  I tried to follow up with the post office and this is the response I got.

I got up to Bangsue around 4:30 for 5:00 appointment 25 July Sunday. E-mail said gate 1 but when I got there they said go to gate 2. Traffic was real bad and large crowd, asked a army guy if I was at the right place and showed him my appointment on phone. He said yes and sent me to a que of chairs to wait to get in. Once in had to que to get appointment , passport checked and given a form to fill out for medical history (bring your own pen to fill out). When done on to another Que to wait to get to the person who enters your info into computer and get issued Vaccination sheet with next date for second shot. Mine is 17/10/64 nurse changed it to 17/10/2021 at 17:00. On to the nurse and received the shot and told to go to next area and wait 30 minutes before leaving. I saw people going to a desk with their paper and them stamping it so I did the same. I checked the exit early before the time was up and they had people checking paper work to make sure you stayed long enough. By the time I left the people checking at the exit were leaving. I got into the slowest que to have info inputted to computer and when I got up to the number 2 chair the slow person left and another person took over and it got faster. All in all it took me 2 hours crowed but a lot of people to help and speak English. Best to have complete home address, height in centimeters and weight in kilo grams written down for person inputting your info. .     

I received e-mail inoculation on Sunday, 25 JULY 2021 (from 1300 - 1700 hrs) at the Central Vaccination Center - Bangsue Station ( Gate 1 )

Final confirmation will be sent to you via sms by 23.00hrs on SATURDAY, 24 JULY 2021 by the Central Vaccination Center - Bangsue Grand Station. You need to present the sms on-site, otherwise you will be denied inoculation.

I  received sms but it is all in Thai so I just thought it was just for confirmation. I got ready to leave the house with my wife and asked her to check the sms because it is all in Thai. She said it is saying that my appointment is at 5:00 P.M. and we don't have to go till then. I thought it was anytime from 1:00 - 5:00 P.M. but she told me appointment is at 5:00 P.M. only. so I need to wait around another 4 hours befor heading up that way.   

Hi, I also registered Wednesday around 11:45 A.M. no confirmation or appointment e-mail yet. In regards to paper work needed 1. Passport - OK ,

2. Proof of Visa ? Isn't that in the passport? , 3. Residence documentation ? I live in same place for years.  What will I need will mail addressed to my address and name do or house book copy with letter from wife and copy of her I.D. ? Anyone that has a idea what is required?

After that I will contact them and go by their office neer BTS Asoke to see about getting a policy. I have some time yet as my extension is good to 5 November 19. If any one does their's and can verify about start dates and when they are able to go in for extension Please post here and let us know.  Again Thank You All. I will post to up date when I get a policy and again when I go in for my extension and how that goes.

I don’t think I will mention any of this on application if no medical checkup required as I don’t plan on filing any claims. I just need the insurance letter for the extension. I have insurance coverage from the USA and it covers me world wide.

1.      What companys can I get cheap insurance from.

2.      Any recommendations for Brokers in Bangkok.

3.      How to do the date on policy? Start Date and Time? When will I be allowed to go in to do my Extension? Ie. The date my policy starts or up to 30 days befor?

Thank You to everyone. It was helpful but still could not find my size. I tried looking at the New Balance, the Web Site shows they make them and it is available on the web site. I searched locations in Bangkok and tried the ones around Siam Station.I Could not find the ones listed for Siam / Center- Discovery - Paragon but I found the one in Central World. I asked if they have walking shoes? They had about 3 styles , I asked if they had size 9 1/2 ? Yes. DO you have in wide 2E?. NO only have 9 or 10 in 2E not in 9 1/2. Close but not the right size. I also looked around a lot of other places and I guess I will just order off the Web site and see what happens with customs , duty, etc. Thank You again to all of you who tried to help.  

I am trying to find US size 9 1/2 W , 9 1/2 E or 9 1/2 2E walking shoes. I went to a bunch of malls such as Central World, Robinsons, Central, MBK, etc. When I tell them I need 9 1/2 Wide they bring out 91/2 but not wide and when I say I need wide like the pair I am wearing. they say they don't have and to try on another style it looks a little wider. Did anyone buy wide shoes and have any info. on where I can find them? Hopefully close to BTS or MRT. I already checked conversion charts and tried on the 43 and 44 sizes but not wide enough.      Hi, I am going on a vacation to Europe next month. One of my stops will be the Alps in Switzerland, the Travel agency said I should bring gloves as there is snow and cold. Does any one know where I can buy gloves in Bangkok for cold weather? Somewhere close to the BTS or MRT if possible.  Thank You. 

I just got my 90 day report back in the mail. Mailed on 10 Jan. , Due 28 Jan., sent to CW but when recieved back return address Imperial Ladprao. I Guess they decided to foward their mail as CW is shut down for a while. I was wondering what to do the next time it's due if I didn't get the receipt. Alls good now. So those who mailed a while ago to CW and are worried check your mail box and hopefully it will show up soon.

Inquisitive, Do a search on Google for Bangkok gun shops and you should find a article by CNNGo dated 2 Jan 2012 . That article will help you with info on owning a firearm in Thailand and cost etc. It might help with cost of importing but I think it will be a lot simpler if you apply here and purchase here if approved.

I just did my 90 day report , due on 6/8/2010 mailed it in EMS on 6/3/2010 AM to Cheang Wattana Immigration . Received it back 6/16/2010. First time I did it by mail and it had me a bit worried also. I tracked delivery of EMS and it got there on 6/8/2010. I used this web site to track the number on the receipt, C:\Documents and Settings\xp\Desktop\Track And Trace EMS Thailand Post Grasshopper.mht. Hope you get your report back soon so you can stop worrying.

Hi Upena. I retired from PWC Pearl / NAVFAC Hawaii a year and a half ago. I switched from Kaiser to Blue Cross Blue Shield before I Moved over here. Can you change over to a insurance that will cover you here? They have open season once a year when you can change over. You can also contact OPM and tell them you moved out of the coverage zone for your health benifits and need to change to a new carrier, then you don't have to wait for open season. If you need more info you can PM me with questions.

Keep one thing in mind. When you rent a place, they want one or two months deposit and first months rent in advance. They almost never return the deposit. Take your time and look for a place that you will likley be staying at for a while. Aloha Dennis.

BTS train just passed by on Sathorn Road. Guess they are open or getting ready to open soon.

The BTS is not running on Sathorn since yesterday afternoon. The MRT was operating yesterday evening but had it's roll up doors to the stations down a little and I had to duck under to get in. Not sure about MRT today. Anyone have any current info on MRT today?

Hi, Went by last night and the Beer Garden & Food Court was open. It looks like about 75 to 80 % is operational. Chang Beer seams to have taken over with large signs all over and 4 of the beer stalls that only sell Chang. The only other beer I could find there is Federbrough or something like that, with the girls with the Red Feather on the back of their shirts.
