  1. I am a prostitute at work. Many times I have been ****ed and never got paid extra.

It does not give me much to talk about either. Whats up with us prostitutes?

I don't think it's the nature of the work that's really the issue, I'm quite willing to accept that many of us are ######ed over in some way and we accept it because we need the money.

However I think the issue is more that people are marrying girls who are vastly less educated and (dare I say it.. ok but don't hit me on the head with it) lower class than they are. I think you get the same issues when marrying a farm girl or ex-farm-girl waitress or someone of a similar level.

The simple answer is of course that Thai women who are sucessful and educated may have some requirements of their own for their future husband beyond having a pulse and sufficient funds to provide some inheritance soonest..

  2. People, I find this the most worrying report I've read in a long long time.. I couldn't care less about what time entertainment places officially have to close, I couldn't care less about underage sex becoming dodgy, I couldn't care less about a drugs crackdown but this is just scary. How will I get home now..? How will anyone get home after drinking more than 2 beers or whiskey-sodas or yaa dong or wharever it is you drink?

Will everyone now have to go hire a driver? Will all this experience I've gained over the years in drunk driving be for nothing now? I'm at the point now where people feel a lot safer in my car after I had something to drink compared to sober.

This is just scary.. Want to panic.. This could be the end of life as wel know it. :o

  3. > Frodo (eventually!) tosses the ring into the volcano, nearly falls in,

    > Gollum does - but seems to be fairly cheerful about it.

    > Nobody else important dies.

Sorry to butt in and so off-topic too (though Think also does movie reviews so I think I'll get away with it!) but where does this quote come from? It reminds me of the EXCELLENT 'The Abridged Movie Scripts' website (do a Google search) which sadly hasn't been updated with recent movies for a while. (Matrix was about the last one I think). Anyone knows if and where these gems can be found? And for anyone else, check out that site, it's really very funny.

  4. Hm, I voted 'no way' however I don't fully agree with the rest of that premise, namely that saying 'no' means moving on to another girl...

So no I don't pay but yes I will marry somewhere this year.

This because paying dowry, or 'byuing a wife' to put it bluntly is politically incorrect to the extreme in my culture. Needless to say I will try to take care of my in-laws any way I can, but there will be no parading of money or gold. If she wants that then she should marry a Thai or a gullible foreigner.

Also I would like to add that I see many foreigners in Thailand who pay very high amounts of money for a girl who's been married before and perhaps even already has kids!!!!!!!! That's just ludicrous. Like cashing in twice for second hand goods?

People, the 'sod' in sin sod means 'fresh'. When freshness is no longer guaranteed and goods are past their sell-by date or have been pre-owned or pre-used or whatever you want to call it than any money whatsoever is completely out of the question. In fact they should be thankful for any man accepting existing children and raising them as their own. If such graditude seems absent then I would suggest to move on.

(And don't even think of getting me started on paying dowry for a girl who's worked in the physical entertainment services field.....)

    Cheers,
