  1. A UK based digital company is looking for expat sales people based in Bangkok to call UK prospects.

This is an outstanding opportunity for highly motivated, reliable and professional sales people with experience in

telemarketing and a track record in closing sales. We sell a digital product that is needed by all website owners

    and has virtually no competition.

Our offices in Silom will not now be ready until mid February 2011 and we require new sales staff to work from home

    immediately for 4-6 weeks.

All applicants must meet the following criteria.

    • Male or female with experience in selling and closing sales by telephone.
    • Native English speakers from the UK & Ireland only.
    • Have relevant sales experience.
    • Can provide two credible references.
    • Computer literate and own a reliable, modern computer or laptop.
    • Have access to reliable, high speed broadband and able to work from home

      undisturbed for 4-6 weeks.
    • Already be living in Thailand and prepared to stay for at least 18 months.
    • Have a positive attitude to life & work.

(Candidates who do not meet the above criteria will not receive a reply)

    Job description includes:

    • Sourcing leads/prospects online.
    • Calling UK based businesses to introduce our product/service and provide
      relevant information by email.
    • Handle general customer inquiries.
    • Close sales.

    Our attractive package includes:

    • Basic salary of 36,000 Baht per month.
    • On target earnings of 190,000+ Baht per month.
    • Uncapped earnings for high performers.
    • Monthly performance incentives and bonuses.
    • Work permit after probation period of one month.
    • Full training and support.

The successful candidates will be required to hit the ground running and be able to prove them selves within

3-4 weeks. Experienced sale people will find this product a relatively easy sell although the need for dedication,

commitment and consistency should not be underestimated.

Please PM your CV and cover email and we will contact the successful candidates to arrange an interview

    in Bangkok shortly.

  2. <div><br></div><div>Lets hope they get good arrests. If they police keep the pressure on then the foreign gangs may begin to look elsewhere. </div><div><br></div><div>The problem is that the savvy criminals can easily get their hands on new ID, passports etc. </div><div><br></div><div>The sooner they make finger scanning mandatory, the better for everyone. Can't be long now!</div>

  3. I'm also keen to get some DJ lessons to get started. I'm a bass player with some recording experience so plan to mix my own bass tracks. However, i've never worked a set of decks.

    Can you help?

    Jim

  4. Go and get the visa yourself. Hand in your passport/application early and pick it up the next day.

I take it you have the documents for a single entry visa? Multiple visa's are not easy to get in PP.

Plenty of decent 25$ hotels in PP but i cant remember the names. You may even get a 4 star hotel cheaply if you book online.

It's time i went back to PP. enjoy!

  5. How many have closed because they should not have opened in the first place.

Too many people jump on the band-wagon without first doing their homework. Some will open a bar, restaurant or guest house because their neighbour is doing it and has a few customers. Those customers won't just multiply overnight - they will spread themselves over all the available establishments and everyone loses out..

To be sure the recent protests by all colours have not helped tourism, but neither they not the government can be blamed for all the tourism ills. There is just over-supply, through lack of planning.

The government should not bail everyone out.

How can you plan for an airport take over and protesters being allowed to take a city hostage for 8 weeks? No one saw that coming!

Our business was doing very well until the red shirts turned the city upside down. Same happened with the yellow shirts.

Thailand needs stability or many small to large business will take their jobs elsewhere. We're already making plans to invest elsewhere.

One more big episode and few people will ever invest in Thailand again.

  6. The solar panels are a good idea but Tuk Tuks are essentially useless things.

I'm trying hard to see any other pros so here are the cons.

    1. They dont get you there any quicker than a car/taxi

    2. They are more expensive

    3. When its hot you sweat

    4. When it rains you get wet

    5. You breath in Bangkok's traffic pollution

    6. Tourists end up in Gem stores and often get ripped off

    7. They are noisy

    8. The roof is too low so its not so easy to see out without bending your head down.

    9. They're not that comfy

    10. Many drivers (but not all) are nasty buggers.

Some one needs to redesign the thing. Make it thinner, sealed with windows with air con.

  7. Djukanovic said Thaksin had been an elected Thai premier whose government was brought down by a military coup.

Correct me if I am wrong

At the time of the Coup there was no legal government in power

Thaskin was caretaker PM and did not call an election as per the constitution

The coup was to stop a bloody massacre that was about to unfold on the streets of Bangkok

It was not to bring down a government

as at this time there was no constitutional government in power

Please correct me if I am wrong

You're wrong on all accounts! What newspapers do you read, the daily mail?

  8. "accusiation" is not a charge by law.

he might be even arrested, but if there is no proof (very unlikely there is one), he should be released shortly.

after talking to a reporter before burning happened, the brit called the times in London and explained, that he wasn't serious and he wasn't anywhere the Central on 19th.

his excuse at police might be that he have been drunk and defence can claim his mental state (throwing a stick on the road in the direction of the camera).

arresting a foreigner (or two) on some phoney charges sets a precedent to be used against them at anytime in the future, whatever the context might be - car accident, bar brawl, pickpocketing, credit card fraud etc

The falang was clearly inciting terrorism which is against the law. Maybe he didn't actually set fire to any building but he sure as hel_l will go to jail for this and deservedly so. They should give him another 5 years for stupidity!

  9. The Bangkok bank at the bottom of our street just had a grenade attack at around 5pm and is on fire

6 or 7 people on bikes then came down the street beeping the horns in apparent triumph.

No soldier or policeman in sight!

If i had a gun I would have shot the lot of them!

  10. yep, a slippery slope indeed... I suggest someone throw out an anchor to the various leaders in hopes of stopping their slide.

The only people that are fighting and destroying everything in their path are the Reds. So it is nonsense to call for Ceasefire. Some should tell them just stop. End of story

You cant tell them to stop. You have to send in the troops to clear them out.

The PM is too weak to do this and HE must now step down to save the country!

  11. This changes things. Lets hope that the more moderate leaders will be able to talk to Abhisit about the road map with out him threatening them.

Also lets hope it doesnt go the other way and his men in black don't go out looking for revenge.

    Typo

There's no more time left for talking. The PM must remove the protesters, or stand down. That always was his two only options but he seems to refuse to accept this!

  12. It's become a farce. The Red shits :) had a great opportunity on Monday to declare a moral victory, have one big party and send everyone home happy.

It's obvious that Taksin is the one making the decisions here and not the Red Shirt leaders.

The government are unable to solve this issue and have only served to drag it out longer than necessary. They are unable to send in the keystones cops and the army are just as useless.

You've failed PM and you no longer have any control over your country. Step down. Your time is up! :D

  13. Not many answers in the Phuket forum. Moved to Teaching forum.

Your TEFL Cert. must have at least 120 hours of classroom time and 6 hours of observed teaching practice, as per the recommendations of the British Council.

As far as the Thai MOE is concerned, you do NOT need a TEFL, just a BA degree in any subject!

    So if two candidates go for a job;

Candidate A: Has a Trinity TESOL, iTEFL or CELTA cert. and some teaching experience, but no BA degree.

Candidate B: Has a BA degree in engineering and no TEFL/CELTA Cert. or any teaching experience.

Guess who can legally teach in Thailand? ......... Candidate B wins!

And you wonder why the Thais can't speak English?
