  1. The LCD screen on my macbook has stopes working, well not completely it is still visable but only

    very faintly.

Basicly what happens is that when i powered up it was starting up as normal and then the screen

Flickered on and off for a couple of seconds then just went dim.

And yes I have tried adjusting the brightness, it's also well over the warranty period.

Ps. I did once read a thread about a shop repairing macs at pantip plaza, but I can not

    find it as yet.

  2. Hi all, i went to the motor show the other day hoping to pick up a reasonably inexpensive Roof rack/bick rack for a vigo, and all i could

find was the Thule brand good quality i know but the price tag was a bit on the high side.

Ive seen plenty of other brands here in los but don't really know which brand would stand the test of time more than the other.

I believe carryboy also make them, can someone steer me in the right direction.

  3. Correct, just rock up & pay on the door.

Do you know where the BITEC centre is & how to get there?

    BITEC

There will be a free bus from On-nut sky train station. Though be aware it might go from what you consider to be the "wrong side" of Sukhumvit Rd. i.e. facing into the city rather than towards the airport.

Bangkok Motor Show is great day out. Lots to see, LOTS of walking, some very nice curves.... then ofcourse there's the cars aswell :o

Don't forget to check out what's going on outside too.... there'll be lots.

Any idea of what time the free bus stops taking passengers on weekdays.

  4. I've just had a oral examination and need a lot of work doing.

If you are a patient or have been in the past I would be very graetful if

You could recommend me dentist that you personally have had treatment

With, preferably who has plenty of experience in his/her field.

I need to have several fillings a bridge, and a implant.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

  5. To have the map in either English Or Thai you have to change the map using the cd and a computer. its either English or Thai not both. maybe you can put the other map on a sd card but not sure. it only takes about 6 minutes to change the map.

Cheers Allan, already sussed it out but it took me a while.

I was going about it in the right way from the start but thought it was not working because the menu was still in Thai

didn't realise it changed the map in to English and then you had to manually change the scrip in the menu to English

thought it would change everything in one step,

    silly me.

Coming to Bangkok from the south, and would like to rent an apartment/studio in the suburbs of city.

not to far away from central, but will have use of transport for the duration of stay.

Would like a general idea of to which district to start my search, i am looking to pay 10,000per month

and would like to get a nice a place as possible on my budget. ( Safe Clean and Quiet)

I'm sure there are plenty of places around Bangkok that i am looking for, and have read many posts with

members describing nice places to stay.

I suppose its just a matter of knowing where? Ive been visiting Thailand on and of for several years now

and know plenty of good value, decent places to stay in the south, but when it comes to Bangkok i always

find it to be a bit of a daunting place. Like the belly of a beast. Chew you up spit you out sort of thing.

And i haven't really got weeks to search, and need to find my feet

as am starting a course on the 10th and got to concentrate on that.

So basically if you could please help me out on this one it would be hugely appreciated.

    Many Thanks in advance.

  8. Hi

Im looking to get hold of optimum whey protein here in phuket, i read a post that it is available in pattaya, but im yet to find anywhere here that supplies it. ill be damned if im paying the costs to ship it from america aswell. If anyone knows anywhere that can supply it from either here in phuket or to ship it from pattaya any help is much appreciated.

    Cheers

Hi are you still looking for whey protein in Phuket?

Yes i am but a good quality one, what brand is it.

  9. hey easylife,

for 240-250hp you need to spend close to 150-170k for full mods, includes suspension, brakes, body, engine, turbo etc.

personally i would buy the 2nd hand perfect condition Vigo, as you said, moding it will void the warrenty, thus why waste the extra 200,000k for a new one when you can get everything you want with that aditional price.

you dont need to change rubbers, im still using std rubber, though i am upgrading soon to 265/75/r16 BF A/T, but thats because mine are quite worn out.

keep your std rims are fine, larger brakes can fit on there to.

i can say 200k will be all you need to turn your vigo into something else!

    Thanks Philipm,

Can you PM me your contact number, when i get sorted ill call you.

  10. hey easylife,

i would recommend the new coilover suspensions for your soon to be Vigo 4x4, this shock is a 35mm rod, super quick damping, rideheight adjustable, and for the rear shock, it also comes with a spring, in the shock. " a rear coilover", it can be made either soft, medium or stiff, by users specification.

that takes care of your suspensions.

in reagard to the motor, how much hp and tq are you wanting?

if its about 200hp that can be just done with the advanced piggybacks i have, with a simple boost cut.

though if you want around 240-250hp your gona need to change turbo, intercooler, pipes, downpipe, cat and muffler, external wastegate, boost controller.

what would you be looking for?

Thanks for the speedy reply philipm,

If i go for the 240-250 what would it set me back including the suspension.

And would i need to sit her on new rubber and rims.

PS do you think it would be worth while looking for a good second hand one with low kms

considering i will be voiding the warranty when spec'ed up, i now trucks hold there money well here in Thailand.

Or even better how would you go about it seen as i haven't purchased the vigo yet, i could be swayed if it works out

more beneficial price wise, just remember I'm not after a drag racer just something a cut above the rest that looks good :o

    Cheers.

  11. hey mate, sorry i dont take full time to check my grammer,

i always multitask, and my full attenation is not my spelling but rather communicating and answering what people ask for.

RICK: you bought a Garrett m24 ar.50 :o (check out what is max power on it, then -30% thats its potential for diesels.)

and thanks for the comment. glad that i could help.

Hey Philipm, been spellbound reading through this thread got to hand it to ya you really know your job inside out.

I'm looking at buying vigo3lt 4x4 beginning of Jan would really love to mod it up a bit nothing to fancy, just more power

and better suspension going to be using it as a main motor and don't want to put to much strain on the engine just

want to be able to have a bit of fun every now and again.

    what would you recommend mate.
