Its wonderful,been for a 10k walk today,got back home and had a cold shower and up for anything.Must admit my feet are a bit sore but a good massage will cure that.

If i had a choice between this weather and UK i would choose Thailand any day.

Young girls sold as maids flee abusers

Almost 40 child maids who entered the country illegally ran away from their abusive employers last year.

The youngest girl was aged just 12, the Foundation for Women said.

Dararai Raksasiripong, from the foundation, said the child maids sought help from immigration police.

Almost 350 child and female labourers were detained last year for illegal entry. Sixty-three of them were the victims of human trafficking gangs - 37 of them lured to work as housemaids, 15 worked in the service sector, seven in the industrial sector and four in farming.

Most were sold to work in Thon Buri district in Bangkok and Nonthaburi province.

Now i have heard everything regarding Bangkok.

Thais (hope not farangs) are emplying underage Lao girls to work 12 hours a day/7 days a week and some are getting raped and some are running away.There are trucks bringing them over the border to <snip> ,and making them work and the thai authorities send the young girls back and not arrest the sickos who employ them.

There seems to be an increasing amount of thais doing the <snip> ,and not much the police are doing.

I am amazed there are that many thais emplying maids or are these chinese/thais.

its amazing how many posters believed the police,but dont believe them when they say there was a suicide,itsthais trying to kill us all.

I would have no hesitation to smack a farang first if he was ready to hit me but i would be more careful of where i was before smacking a thai.

So it is back to the way it was yet again. One of these days they'll get somebody in the traffic department that knows what he is doing but not in my lifetime.

Why don't they try making second road one way north down to south and reverse the traffic direction on beach road. That's about the only combination they've not tried.

There was me thinking last visit that the traffic was not so bad, should have known it wouldn't last.

seems a good basic idea but we are talking about thai logic.The big problem with 2 way traffic is the thai stalls,baht buses just stopping in the road,parked rented bikes etc etc.

i believe that in english its called 'mistress'.... but in this case, as far as we were concerned, to all the guys here, we were an acknowledged couple , string ceremony and all but still discreet. that is, others from his village that were here also knew, but 'mai mi kwaam laap' as they say in thai, so i know she knew, but i also know she preferred that to other options (hm going to prostitutes), in addition, in this case, he gave me no monetary help so i wasnt infringing on her familial benefits. ... its a bit different than the norm here in farangland i admit, and different i guess than the 'giks' and 'faan' that are also types of couples sort of...

at any rate, not bad, not good. it served its purpose for both of us for the time span needed/wanted. now happily married to thai man, visa's organized, life goes on, blablabla.

My friend does work in Phuket and he says its the most corrupt place in Thailand by far.Rotten from the top to the bottom.He lives in Pattaya and he said that its far less violent than Phuket.
