Exactly. I think this thread is just stirring up worry for no reason.

If an expat can’t afford a covid shot, they shouldn’t be in Thailand. I am sure the 800,000 for retirement visa or 400,000 for marriage visa money will more than cover it.
if they are on a working visa that will also cover it.
Some will expect it for free I am sure.

I am happy to wait my turn and do whatever the thai authorities ask us to do. Give it to the frontline health workers first, then all the oldies and fat people.

If they require us all to eventually vaccinated then we will, it is their country, their rules.

And they have been very successful handling it, much better than western countries, so we are not really in the position to start complaining and telling them how to handle it.

I am sure some will. They then have to make a choice. Do what Anutin tells us to do or find some other country to live in.

    Why so bitter?

Abscond from what? He's not being extradited, end of story.

I wonder if the US will push for his arrest every time he travels

There is some precedent in cases like this where extradition to the US is denied, normally the detainee is released and that's the end of the matter.

There is an appeals process as noted in the article. He will be detained during that process as he has proved he is a flight risk.

  3. The issue is that with freedom of speech, which should be everyone's right there comes an equal right for others to disagree and to protest. He has spoken out about J. K. Rowling's bizarre rants against transgender women. It is her right to believe as she wishes and to state that belief, but it is also the right of the transgender population and those that support them to protest using their threat to boycott her products.

It's strange that they've decided to go down this route of allowing the virus to spread en masse all over the country.

Still, what do I care, it's their country - they can do what they want.

No one allowed it, it happened. You perhaps can put blame on those who allegedly allowed large numbers of untested immigrants enter the country I suppose but not the government as a whole.

I am really going to miss the good news and peace deals in the MENA region. It was, as we remember before Trump, a lost cause and a hopeless and worsening tragedy. Incredible effort and achievement by one man and his select team. Showing the career diplomats how it's really done.

That's funny. All of the nations that have now officially normalized relations with Israel were just putting to paper the relationships they already had with Israel so Trump could take credit.

Let's not forget that about 70,000,000 American's supported what Trump did and they wanted (at least) 4 more years of the same. That will be a massive problem for Biden because those 70 million won't change their mind only because Biden tries to do a good job.

Some of those who voted for Trump will never change their mind, ever. It won't matter how much money is in their pocket or what the mood in the country is. However some will change their mind and added to the 80 million that voted for Biden, will help close the gap between both sides.
