This is a bet that we'll be 'risk-off' by the end of the week.
Sell EUR/[email protected]
Take [email protected]
stop [email protected]
trade expires on 10/29
There's some kind of little summit concluding on Wednesday and I don't think the eu can overcome its differences to the satisfaction of the market.

Because it's the philippines mate!

nah, baht seems to be more or less pegged to usd, will only move if/when thai govt wants it to.
-
yep i'm a loyal full-time user also, no viruses from linux either

try puppy linux, small & nimble, user-friendly, 529 kicks ass

dang that list is rather limited, no laos and not many european countries either

Chiang mai, thai islands, southern vietnam, Burma is opening up at the moment too and you might want to check that out, would be a good place to be for a photographer i reckon as it opens up.
Stay the hell out of northern vietnam, worst experience of se asia in my experience.

The general attitude of Thai toward foreigners is all because of hollywood.
When Thais watch foreign movies, all foreigners are young, beautiful and rich. But the ones they get are old, ugly and poor.
For them, all foreigners are hi-so. Unfortunately the ones they got are not up to their expectation.
They have the feeling to have been cheated.
That's the best point of this thread, so far.

ya you should buy some real estate in yangon, laos real estate prices in downtown vientiane have tripled in past 10 years, amid global turmoil too. Something I'd look into right now if I had the $$
-
+1 I'm also wondering about same, as well as actual finished product availability in thailand/laos region
-
Get this from www.pandarider.com it's the best and I purchase a lot of gear from there. Most new bikes have front and rear disc brakes and if not the alarm will wake all around and alert all in the shopping centre.
Jesus 11,000B for a helmet, a 200cc 3yo honda phantom bike can be had here for less than 30,000B!

Heard of this

Nobody obviously has any ideas here

I'm looking to buy St John's Wort, 5-HTP and some other herbal medicines in the North east region, also incl vientiane in laos. Does anyone know if/where these can be got?

Am now thinking of booking online using new card details, they only change the exp date and 3 digits at back.
If asked for card will present old cc, if asked any more will present copy of new cc.
Will let you know how it goes after folks

Imagine what your lives would be vacant of credit cards? Images come to mind.
Lol zzaa
Anyone know about airasia demanding credit card at check-in?

Mrman, Just after checking the moxtravel fares there and on a like for like basis they actually come out cheaper for ba flights than the ba website (www.ba.com) itself! They seem to be reliable anyway based on the comments here. However I don't have a thai bank account, but there does seem to be an option for international bank transfers. That could take up to a week to clear though, but I'll bear it in mind anyway if I cannot find a more convenient alternative.
smokie, I have been asked before (and there are others on other forums I've seen) for the cc used in making booking, hence my concern. I was thinking maybe a faxed copy of the new card would work, if requested at check-in because I read about someone who got around it that way.
It really comes down to the clerk at check-in, because the cc companies when investigating fraudulent payments will interview and possibly hold responsible the clerk in question if card not presented. So a paper copy might work, with my old card for backup and explanation.
By the way mrman, is it possible to pay moxtravel in cash anywhere? They say bank transfer, but could you just rock up at one of those banks with a/c details and cash in hand and pay?
-
If the new card is at home, why not get someone to give you the new expiry date and the three digit security code and then you can enter the details at the online sites ?
The card is there mate, but the airlines have been known to look for card used to book flight at check-in.

Not sure what kind of credit card you have. I had one expire on me years ago in BKK. I called them and they sent a replacement (new) card by registered mail to my hotel at the time ... had it within 24 hrs.
Not an option on the card I have unfortunately. My bank will only send to address on cc account, not abroad to temporary address. I could ask somebody to courier out the card (because a new card has already been issued to that address) but that's taking a chance nobody gets their hands on it before I do, and it would take at least 1 week to get here.
-
Cheers for that smokie, surprised that say it should be ok, cos another thread on here says cc required at check-in sometimes. Some people are always asked and some are never it seems from that thread.
