  1. I'm a guy and I think a woman in one of my dress shirts is very sexy. It is partly the notion that in all likelihood, there's nothing underneath.

All that being said, the woman has to be able to carry it off. Just like clothes don't make the man, they don't make the woman either.

By the way, +1 for the Holly Golightly pics! Audrey was awesome back in the day, and Breakfast at Tiffany's needs to be rereleased. I only saw it last year for the first time and really enjoyed it! Who knew Hannibal from the A-Team (George Peppard) used to be a serious actor??

  2. Recently finished The Reapers by John Connolly. Thought it was pretty good for one of the Charlie Parker series, but I'm wondering why he has gotten away from some of the more supernatural aspects of other Charlie Parker books, like "Black Angel". I guess this latest one was more about Louis and Angel than Charlie, so that may explain it.

Also recently read the newest Elvis Cole novel from Robert Crais, but can't remember the name. Didn't really stick - enjoyable read, but "L.A. Requiem" will probably always be the best in that series.

Bought a book to read on the plane, author I've never read before, but on the sale table: "The Spellman Files" by Lisa Lutz. Pretty funny.

Now working on "Buddhism for Dummies" to get some idea of the religion before I move to Thailand.

  3. Here's a few that are all-time classics, at least at my house:

    1. From The Matrix: "That's why everything tastes like chicken."

    2. From Pulp Fiction:

Vinnie: Bacon tastes good. Pork chops taste good.

Jules: Yeah, and sewer rats might taste like pumpkin pie, but I wouldn't know 'cause I don't eat the filthy motherf**kers.

    3. From Apocalypse Now: "If I say its safe to surf this beach, its safe to surf this beach."

    4. From Tombstone: "Say when."

  4. Thanks for the tip, especially on a shorter term. At one of the places I mentioned, six months gets the lower rate, but Park Beach wanted a year or more to get the rate right. Once we're a little closer to launch, I will call our corporate secretary (Thai) and have her negotiate the deal. I'll make sure to mention the things you brought up.

  5. Going out and whatnot will be a weekend activity, I think. We're opening a new factory there, and startups in my company tend to make for VERY long workdays - come to think of it, I may not have many weekends either in the beginning!!

  6. Hi everyone.

New to the forum. I'll be moving in to the Pattaya/Jomtien area in January 2009 for a 2-year (minimum) assignment with my employer. Have only visited Thailand once before, first week of Sept. 2008.

When I was there before, I spent most of the time looking for places to live. Wondering if any of you have any input on a couple that struck my fancy and fit my price range? One is Tara Court in Jomtien, and the other is Park Beach in Pattaya.

My preferences: I'm 36, American, single, straight, enjoy going out, drinking, etc., but would still like to sleep once in a while (currently gainfully employed, and would like to stay that way!). From my limited time there, it seemed that a Jomtien location would be a little quieter, but still convenient for bars, restaurants, etc.

Your input appreciated, and hope to meet some of you in January.
