  1. I've come to a certain age that I started thinking of what will happen to my wife when I die.

As all my assets and life insurance abroad will be going to my kids, I'm wondering how the wife will cope at the initial stages after my death.

So I'm thinking of taking a life insurance in Thailand, so she can have some money available to cope at the beginning.

I've looked through the internet and there are many companies offering life insurances, like AIA or ACE.

What I would like to ask the members is, if you have heard of any reliable insurances that will pay and the wife will not have much hassle getting the money.

Of course, you will not have a personal experience as you are still alive, but I'm asking if you have heard from other people or wives of foreigners that the husband has died and they got some money from an insurance, and the name of the insurance.

    Many thanks.

  2. I thought you are an easy going guy.

Seems to be, you are a difficult one.........(nayak)

Also amazes me that you expect the Thais to understand about Medium or Rare and most of it Medium rare.

Don't know what restaurants you are eating in, but the ones I eat in, up here, when I order steak, I get a dry piece of beef that can't even chew.

Anyway, when I come to Pattaya, you have to introduce me to some restaurants.

  3. Home! I had to stop posting and instead concentrate on driving from the passenger seat. We avoided side swiping a Nissan, and I was constantly reminding him 140km was not mandatory. The missus insisted we finish the journey so I just got him to slow down and had my eyes on a few cars in front.

I think next time i'll drive......

What happened to the car that was following you?

This story can't finish like that..........I want action.........I'm very, very disappointed.blink.png

PS. Good to hear you are back home, safethumbsup.gif

  4. <script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script>

I can understand the logic of prohibiting alcohol and cigarettes on television adverts, racing cars etc, but going to the extreme of prosecuting for displaying on restaurant menus is IMO ridiculous.

And the key to this whole case " farang expatriates " wink.png

Serious question, as Soutpeel already pointed out:

Why doesn't the first sentence in the OP read: "In a case that could serve as a warning for restaurants and bars in Thailand,..."

    but

"In a case that could serve as a warning for farang expatriates who have restaurants and bars in Thailand,..." ?

Is this just by accident or does it really mean what it says? Does this law / regulation only apply to restaurants / bars owned by farang expats?

If yes, the story would be a completely different one than the title suggests.

I believe, as TVF articles are directed to the ex-pats and English speaking farangs, you are both over reacting.

The ban is for all people in Thailand.

What I also believe is that this is an extreme case with the intention to warn all parties about the ban.

  5. This is a good article to read and understand politics in Thailand.

I never had a doubt that we will see the Siwanatras back in power and we will see the police again back to their old habits, and corruption thriving at all levels of society.

I consider this junta to be just a short breath space to the history of this country.

In a short time we will see again the same situation as before.

Till the next coup in some years to come.

Whoever believes that things can change in Thailand must be living in a dream world and not reality.

  6. "The PM added that the government’s attempt to uphold Thailand’s image has attributed to an increase of more than 20% in tourist arrivals in the first quarter of this year."

Yes, PM, I'm sure the Chinese and some other tourists flooded Thailand knowing your efforts to solve the human trafficking problem......

Didn't I say to you to think before you speak?

Nobody seems to be listening to me.......blink.png

  7. You are speaking about the Issan Thais, that lots of them haven't seen the sea in their lives.

Yes, it is the unknown to them and are afraid to go in that big pool of water thats called sea.

Most of them also don't know how to swim.

I do believe Thais that live in the islands or near the sea love going into it as much as I do.
