  1. wow ohh wow...

If he's guilty I hope they fry him,.... But this seems suspect.

My cynical side finds this whole thing a little odd…

He is let go in DEC, then 2.5 months later accused of this. I really wonder if there is more to this story like a contract fight. I hope that he really is guilty and it’s not him being falsely accused to settle a score or something sinister as such.

The smirk on his face is strange, guilty or falsely accused, you would think he would be in a state of panic not smirking?

  2. Will the self proclaimed saviour, dare cross the border and lead his red shirts into Bangkok?

If I recall correctly he was in cambodia during the last red protest that turned really violent. I would bet if things go as good as he hopes he wants to be close so he can come "lead".... But only if things go his way.... if things fizzle out, or if it gets really violent again he will scurry back to Dubi land

I would not be at all surprised if the story that the U.A.E. had asked Thaksin to depart for good is true.

I think they have exercised great patience with this troublemaker and now he has probably become persona non grata.

It is very likely that he will set up base in Siem Reap where he is welcome and can be closer to the action.

I guess we will see... But people thought the same thing last time around, and it turned out he was allowed back into UAE. I honestly think he is close by just incase things go his way he can swoop in at the last second and "lead".... But more than likely he will be traveling back to UAE next week.

  4. The Peacekeeping Operations Command will deploy 30,000 soldiers, 10,000 Bangkok policemen and a contingent of 10,000 civilians to safeguard the peace.

Who are these 10,000 "civilians" and what power do they have to keep peace??? Really, serious question....sounds like you dont need to fake being a police or military figure...is it just show up and ask for a uniform!

The "civilians" will be wearing the famous blue shirts. :)

  5. My company is considering to invest a not small sum of money in Thailand, creating and securing jobs for Thais (rather well paid).

When everything goes wrong they will decide for another SEA country and then thank you Mr. Fh***sin. Another crime against the people of Thailand!

    :)

How about thanking the yellow side as well, they also cripled BKK.. Probably worse than what will happen this weekend.

  6. Twenty years ago, when I was working in Dubai (Jebel Ali Hotel), they got a pool attendant deported and blacklisted just because he was chatting a little bit too long with a SAS air hostess. One kid, son of a prominent locale family, had an eye on her and did not appreciate it, so he got him reported.

As a resident manager, I had to accompany my staff back to Bombay... not to say that I never went back to pick up my job.

They blacklisted me, as well, two years for breach of contract!

Yeah they are crazy, I was watching on TV last night... Some western woman was in Dubai, with her fiance and some hotel staff raped her, so she reported it to the police. The police then charged HER because she was having sex out of wedlock with her fiance.... crazy.

I will never go to Dubai, they have one of the most crooked justice systems.

  7. would i be right in saying that the great saviour of the poor and down trodden, the almighty Kuhn Thaksin himself, REFUSED to pay out this compensation to Grandma Hai ? and the one who agreed to the payment finally was the humble Abhisit?

only five responses to this post and not one of them gives Abhisit any credit for doing the right thing after succcessive Thaksin goverments and his puppet Pm's failed her

i guess Abhisit will have to work much harder to get any public attention and appreciation for any good things he does

maybe he needs a new publicist........

Are you trying to do a round-about interview?

  8. Unless the rally is at the airport why? What does a rally on the otherside of BKK have to do with checkin times?

You don't think that they might have some extra security, maybe prior to actually entering the airport?

Yes, and I imagine traveling to the airport would take longer than normal. However it is talking about CHECKING IN, as in already inside the airport, at the computer showing your passport, and checking baggage.

I just wonder how many airlines will say sorry you where here 2.30 early not 3 as advised, you can't board.

  9. Pssst Thaksin in his own words on his own show mentioned them no longer having to line up for his 500 baht when he comes back into power :D It was recorded live and is on youtube .. the pause when he touches his earpiece after the remark is CLASSIC :D

And at the time it was said the yellows where getting 500baht a day to sit in the GOV house/airport. And could be explained he ment to say the yellow's wouldn't need to protest for money anymore, he would take care of his people even the yellows :)

It would not suprise me if both sides paid for some protestors, but their is no direct proof of either side paying for protestors....

  10. SO kids should be punished for there fathers actions? If you make a mistake, your kids should get in trouble to?

If these kids are not a part of their fathers actions they should stay here shouldnt they. They support their father in his action to destabilize this country. Their father puts others kids in harms way. Their father puts EU citizens in harms way. So I see no reason why they should be allowed to flee to the EU and stay there.

    W

You don't get it, it is their father on the phone, it is their father with the massive following not them. They should not be punished for actions of a family member.... And they can believe all the stuff their father preaches.... Does not mean they have to be their for it... I believe Tibet should be free, does that mean I HAVE TO go help free Tibet?

Don't get me wrong I think it should show all his loyal followers how little the family is willing to risk of their own for the "cause"

  11. Just to remind everyone that you need to use peoples proper names and not slang or nicknames... i have edited the posts that contained nick names thus far, but i will simply delete posts without notification from now onwards if you use slang/nick names. Thanks!

why?whats the agenda in this so call free speech forum?

I don't feel that asking people to use Political figures actual real names infringes on anyone's free speech.

I would disagree, but it does not matter. TV is not a government body and does not have to provide free speech. We all agreed to the rules, and those that don't like them can leave IMHO.

Back on topic, I think it speaks volumes that Thanksin does not fight the good fight with the people. And should hopefully make a few of his followers question their loyalties....

  12. This morning I have send protest letters to political parties in Germany and my own country the Netherlands. About Germany admitting two people and harbouring them while over 10 thousand EU citizens are under threat of harm because of actions of their dad. I wrote that it is in poor taste that the rich kiddies get protected while thier own dad is putting so many EU citizens in potential harms way.

I suggest other people do the same and write to political parties in Germany and their own home countries. You will usually get a reply back acknowledging that they will look into it. And maybe when enough people write some debate about it will start. You might also want to write newspapers back home.

  13. So, what happened to basic human rights and freedom of expression?

You are free to exercise those rights in your own country rainman.....how hard is that to understand?

The whole point of human rights is that they're universal. They're basic rights that should apply to everyone no matter where you are or where you're from. How hard is that to understand?

:) I fail to see where participation in a political battle in a country where you are not able to vote is a "basic human right".

Not all that long ago, blacks & women could not vote.... I guess we should have just jailed them all for 5 years?

  14. So what happens to the foreign journalists that come here to report (US, UK, Japan, Korean, Chinese)? In order to report they have to be at the protests.... This could be used as an attempt to suppress un-moderated information.
    Don't go looking for arguments.

Reporters have nothing to do with this.

I am not looking for arguments journalists that are reporting from/working here are "migrant workers". Tell me where it says they are excluded?

There is no point in splitting hairs as it achieves nothing. It is obvious what they mean, after all do you really thing that they would have any intention of jailing BBC/CNN reporters etc?

What the person who wrote it means(Assuming your assumptions are right to begin with), and how its implemented on the ground are often two different things. The fact is it says migrant workers, it does not exclude a certian group of migrant workers.

I would also like to know what laws allow them to do this?

  15. So what happens to the foreign journalists that come here to report (US, UK, Japan, Korean, Chinese)? In order to report they have to be at the protests.... This could be used as an attempt to suppress un-moderated information.

  16. Maybe the current legal workers are not happy with the current treatment, maybe they want to be able to buy land, or whatever the reason... There are plenty of reasons why migrant workers or Farang expats might want to protest (I am not one of them). You are basically saying if you don't have the right to vote you don't have the right to voice an opinion to/of the current government. Again if they are here legally why can't they protest?

Could they be paid, sure... Could the Thai's protesting be paid, sure... But payments is all speculation. And peoples voices if they choose to express them should not be supressed because they can't vote...

This protest is not about the treatment of migrant workers, or foreigners buying land, or whatever the reason... It is about bringing back a crook, who in his five years in direct charge and one year as puppet master, did nothing to improve the lot of migrant workers, or change the laws on foreign land ownership, or whatever. Would you go along to a "free Tibet" march because you wanted a pay rise?

The protest is to change the government, some of the reds want Thanksin back some do not, you can't be naive enough to think that all protestors have the same exact motive for protesting. If migrant workers or who ever is here legally want to participate in an attempt to force change in the government for WHAT EVER REASON THEY HAVE, give a valid reason why they should not be allowed to participate.

Now to answer your question "Would you go along to a "free Tibet" march because you wanted a pay rise" If I felt that freeing Tibet would have a positive effect on my pay raise then maybe I would.

  17. I think the point of the report in the OP isn't to stop the odd farang (no pun intended) from wandering along to join the protest, but to stop any red sympathising employer of a large group of migrant workers from "volunteering" them to go along to the protest. How easy would it be for a factory owner employing, say, 1000 Burmese to tell them they're going to Bangkok to join the demonstration, and if they don't like it they can go home? It also doesn't require a huge leap in thinking to see that such a group could possibly be seen as expendable by the red shirt leadership, opening the way for violence enacted upon them or by them.

I think you are reading it correctly, I understand them wanting to stop workers from being paid to attend. However if the workers are here with legal documents why can't they protest? If they are not here with legal papers and are caught in the protests, then they should be fined/jailed/deported/whatever the current law/fine/punishment is for being an illegal, not special sentencing for being in the protest.

Why should anyone but thai go on the march, because they will ge paid.A few oap,who have been affected by the strong baht/weak gbp,may appear but non thai workers will be there in force when the payments come out.Only thais can vote so why should any non thai be there.
