Mikhail Yuhanna, (Arabic: ميخائيل يوحنا, Mīḫāʾīl Yūḥannā‎) later and more popularly known as Tariq Aziz or Tareq Aziz, (Arabic: طارق عزيز‎, Ṭāriq ʿAzīz; Syriac: ܜܪܩ ܥܙܝܙ) (born April 28, 1936 in Tel Keppe) was the Foreign Minister (1983 – 1991) and Deputy Prime Minister (1979 – 2003) of Iraq, and a close advisor of former President Saddam Hussein for decades. Their association began in the 1950s, when both were Ba'ath party activists, while the party was still officially banned

  2. It is starting to feel like government in exile. I do wonder if the PPP war room where really big decisons are taken has relocated up north too?

Thaksin was just talking of his government-in-exile in Dubai. Now we have a government-in-hiding in Chiang Mai.

No word yet if they're still proclaiming to be "in full control" of the situation.

Maybe they are going to hire this guy for propaganda

Is he still alive ? He brought untold pleasure and amusement to so many with his statements

  3. ..I am in the process right now of buying a Japanese Imported campervan, although that is to UK

No pump out or electrical hook-up facilities in Thailand as no one uses them. However there is one company/MB dealer in BKK who upgrades the MB Vito so it has convertable seats, a sink, table and "Thetford" casette toilet which is the nearest to a motorhome I have seen in Thailand to date - THB circa 3 million though !

  4. Searching the threads throws up some very old subject matter so therefore I am asking has anybody undergone a vasectomy in Bangkok recently, say the last 6 months, and was that surgical or a nonsurgical procedure ?

If so, which hospital do you recommend and what was the cost ? additionally any comments, good or bad, on the procedure and services provided by the hospital would be welcome.

  5. Appreciate if this gets merged with another thread by badbanker but as a newbie I would like further clarity as to the options open to me.

I have a Thai wife and we have 2 young dual nationality children ( Thai/British). Whilst over the years we have visited and I have had many non-concurrent O visa, a retirement visa ( I am over 50 ). We live and I work in Thailand and have done so for 2 years. Hence my WP has been issued on a B visa.

However I now wish to stop working but do not have 800000 THB in a Thai bank that came in from abroad.

Therefore what options are open to me to allow me to remain and live here with my family and will I have to exit the country to obtain a differant type of visa for whatever option that is open to me ?

    Appreciate any factual advice

Apply for an extension based upon marriage to a Thai. You didn't have to be on a B visa to get a work permit. I suggest that the next time you apply for an extension to do it as married to a Thai that way you don't run into problems of loosing your work permit and permit to stay at the same time. You don't need to get a different visa. You just change the reason for your extension.

You only need to show an income of 40,000 baht combined income per month for a marriage extension. If working you just need to show your tax reciepts for proof of income. After you stop working you can show income by having your wife declare an income of 480,000 baht for a year at the tax office and pay taxes on that income. And then show the tax form to prove your income.

Many thanks but my wife does not have an income so how would that work ?
