Troops deployed throughout capital city of Thailand
Thailand's Army chief Prayuth Chan-ocha has ordered deployment of troops in 1,868 communities in all 50 districts of Bangkok and adjacent provinces for civic action, intelligence collection and prevention of bombings and sabotage, an army source said.
The army chief's instruction follows the explosion at an apartment in central Nonthaburi province on Oct. 5, in which four people were killed, including the suspected bomb maker, and nine others wounded, a local media reported.
Intelligence agencies were convinced there could be more sabotage attempts and bombings of important installations, the source said.
The troops are drawn from three main units - the 1st Infantry Division, 2nd Cavalry Division, and the army's Air Defense Command. The operation covers all 50 districts of Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani and Samut Prakan where the emergency decree is still in force.
The army chief's order is for the troops to develop relations with the local people so that they can act as the eyes and ears of the authorities.
Each main force has been ordered to set up a rapid deployment company capable of reaching any location where a violent incident occurs in 15 minutes.

I remember when Thaksin offered Abhisit a "power-sharing" deal back in late 2009. Abhisit declined. Today I wish he would have taken it.
Be careful, someone might spot you as a sock puppet

everything fine here in pattaya why the hel_l do we need it
Local News Pattaya, part of Chonburi Province is now under a State of Emergency which is now being enforced in Provinces surrounding Bangkok to ensure that local branches of Red Shirt Protesters are prevented from travelling to Bangkok which now resembles a war zone in certain areas. Here in Pattaya life goes on and on Friday Afternoon we toured Pattaya to see the effects of the continuing problems in Bangkok. There is no doubt that Pattaya will suffer and tourism will be affected but Tourists are still out-and-about and spending money. The ones we spoke with are concerned about the Bangkok clashes but are not concerned about their safety while they stay here in Pattaya. A number of foreign business owners we have spoken with over the last 24 hours believe the forthcoming low season months will be “make-or-break” for many businesses but they are confident that Thailand can re-emerge as a favorite Tourist Destination. We are closely monitoring local movements and activities undertaken by the Red Shirts and pro-government groups and will update you as the situation here in Pattaya changes.

This money should come from the confiscated Thaksin loot. The idea about the rapid train line to the north and south, not good. It just adds another target for the next riot group to hijack and cut-off but with a high-speed rail would end up endangering many passengers.
Why the hel_l should they to pay the loans back this is so unfair for everybody in Travel they have sufferd for along time from when the yellow closed the airport down i have many friends here in Pattaya who run travel shop suffering very bad also there business are down to something like 70% to what it was

its time just to storm the red rally site and show no remorse this has gone to fair now

All hospital's in Bangkok should refuse treatment to these so called reds and later on just apology like they have done

all i can think of now is
I wanna love you and treat you right;
I wanna love you every day and every night:
We'll be together with a roof right over our heads;
We'll share the shelter of my single bed;
We'll share the same room, yeah! - for Jah provide the bread.
Is this love - is this love - is this love -
Is this love that I'm feelin'?
Is this love - is this love - is this love -
Is this love that I'm feelin'?
I wanna know - wanna know - wanna know now!
I got to know - got to know - got to know now!

I'd love to know the real story of what happened in the hotel room this morning....and how they started with A and ended up with Z.
The only thing that kept coming to my mind on the subject all day was the movie title... "The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight."
The Lullaby League vs the Lollipop Guild!
The police, in Thailand, seem to have a history taking Thaksin's side. The Army might be PM Abhisit's only hope, of conducting an operation, without all the details leaking out to the Reds in advance.
I'm just wondering, who is really in charge. First, there were no press conferences from PM Abhisit for about a week, then the one scheduled was several hours late and when PM Abhisit did finally speak, he handed power, to deal with the Reds, over to General Anupong.
No matter what happens, I have a feeling, it will happen quickly. The owners of Central, Paragon, etc. Shopping malls, are not going to sit back and loose millions of dollars every day, without doing something. I'm surprised, that the protesters are actually still there. One would think, the Government forces would have overrun and arrested them, when there were only 3000 Protesters present yesterday??? After all, what happened to the 50,000 plus soldiers, who were in Bangkok before. I'm sure, that 50,000 soldiers could either surround and cut off, or overrun 3000 Protesters easily. Why are they waiting until the weekend, when the numbers will swell again???
True maybe some money being exchange to speed things up also
Police fear protesters are too strong after red-shirt leader's escape act

Military admits firing at reds
Only single shots fired to minimise casualties

Some soldiers fired live rounds at red shirt demonstrators to provide cover for injured comrades as they were retreating during Saturday's clashes, a spokesman for the Centre for Public Administration in Emergency Situations says.
Col Sansern Kaewkamnerd said yestersday the soldiers had no choice but to open fire at terrorists hiding among demonstrators to protect their colleagues. They were ready to testify before the committee investigating the clashes.
The CPAES released its comments as public suspicions grow over the use of violence by government forces during the April 10 violence. Video footage, including news coverage by foreign media outlets, shows pictures of soldiers firing automatic guns in the direction of red shirt protesters.
Col Sansern told a news conference yesterday soldiers only fired live rounds for two reasons. First, they fired into the air to intimidate demonstrators, and then at advancing crowds to protect the lives of wounded comrades. They fired only one bullet at a time and did not switch to fully automatic to avoid causing more casualties, he said.
The CPAES showed reporters five video clips of Saturday's clashes. One of the clips showed soldiers firing at demonstrators. According to Col Sansern, the soldiers were protecting the injured as they were retreating from the area.
In another clip, a red shirt demonstrator was shot in the head from behind. Col Sansern said judging from the direction, it meant the man was not shot by a soldier.
Other clips include the accounts of red shirt protesters saying they saw a man wearing a blue shirt firing some kind of explosive from a rooftop of a building; another red shirt protester asks, ''Has Seh Daeng [Maj Gen Khattiya Sawasdipol] come to help us?''; and footage of red shirt protesters attacking authorities and blocking a vehicle carrying the injured to hospital.
Col Sansern said judging from the five video clips he did not believe red shirt leaders were unaware there was a group of terrorists among the demonstrators.
Meanwhile, Maj Gen Khattiya, an army specialist who supports the red shirts, claimed armed militants he called ''Ronin warriors'' fired weapons at soldiers after soldiers fired M16 rifles at red shirt demonstrators first.
He said he believed those firing the M16 rifles were army snipers. They fired from the rooftops of high buildings in the area.
''Ronin warriors'', originally called ''King Taksin's warriors'' when set up by the red shirt movement after the 2006 coup, were trained by Seh Daeng until he stopped when ordered by the army.
Meanwhile, Bangkok Emergency Medical Service's Erawan Centre yesterday confirmed two more deaths from the April 10 clash, bringing the number of fatalities to 23. The two latest victims are Pvt Anupol Hommalee, 29, and Napaton Paopanas, a 30-year-old civilian.
Pvt Anupol succumbed to shrapnel wounds to his head, while Napaton died from a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
The centre reported 195 injured civilians and soldiers are still in hospital, with 14 in a serious condition.

Their Majesties the King and Queen will graciously cover the medical bills for victims of Saturday's clash between troops and redshirted demonstrators.

The Office of His Majesty's Principal Private Secretary yesterday said hospitals and agencies had been notified about Their Majesties' concern and their intent to pay for treatments.
The royal help also includes subsidy for the funerals of those who died from the street battles.
Her Majesty and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn on Monday attended the funeral of Colonel Romklao Thuwatham, a members of staff with the Second Infantry Division, which took part in crowdcontrol operations on April 10. He was killed in a grenade attack aimed at the division command post near Sattriwitthaya School.
As of yesterday, 276 of the over 800 persons wounded in the unrest remained at 17 hospitals, with 17 of them in intensive care, the Bangkok Emergency Medical Service Centre reported.
The death toll remained at 21.
Phra Mongkut Hospital had the most patients, with 201.
Hospital spokesman Colonel Peerapol Pokpong said MajGeneral Walit Rojanapakdi, the division commander, was moved out of the ICU to a special ward for recovery from three fractures in his left leg made by a grenade fired from an M79 launcher.
Three other soldiers including LtColonel Kriengsak Nanthaphothidej, another unit commander with the Royal Guards, remained in intensive care for treatments for his brain injuries after a brain surgery, he added.
The two other soldiers are noncoms whose condition is causing concern, said the spokesman. One is not recovering well after brain surgery and the other underwent surgery to deal with chest injuries
Both unidentified soldiers remain in intensive care units.
Dr Pichaya Nakwatchara, director of Central Hospital, said the Office of His Majesty's Principal Private Secretary had told the hospital to seek reimbursement for treatment and funeral expenses directly from the Royal Household Bureau.
The hospital is deeply grateful for the King and Queen's benevolence, he said, adding that 13 clash victims were undergoing treatment there, with one still in the ICU.
The Human Security and Social Development Ministry urged those suffering from the Saturday violence to request financial aid at the centre for assistance to victims of unrest, located in the Community Welfare Protection Office at the Rajvithi Home for Girls.
The claimants should take along their ID card, household registration, medical certificate and a copy of a police report. More information is available by calling (02) 306 8657~8 or the 1300 hotline, or by logging on to twitter.com/prd_mso for.
Fugitive exprime minister Thaksin Shinawatra later yesterday offered to pay Bt100,000 to the families of each of the red shirts killed during the violent clashes.
He had earlier offered to pay Bt100,000 for each of red shirts killed in two separate road accidents during their trip from Bangkok back to their home provinces.

Govt faces difficult task locating killers bangkok post Published: 14/04/2010 at 12:00 AM
The government will find it difficult to go after the unidentified armed men it claims are working with the red shirts unless they can be lured out of hiding, a security source says.
Security authorities on Tuesday released this picture of a man they say is an outsider who shot soldiers on Saturday.
The source said the group whom Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has called ''terrorists'' would not be an easy target for security forces to arrest even under normal circumstances.
Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban on Tuesday said the assailants who killed and injured civilians and soldiers on Saturday night were linked to certain red shirt leaders.
A number of the suspects were still standing guard in front of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship's rally stages, Mr Suthep said.
The source said the shooters were unarmed during peaceful protests and many were disguised as ordinary protesters. They only came out to carry out their deadly tasks when there were clashes like that which took place on Saturday.
The government says it has been doing its best to differentiate between the red shirt demonstrators and what Mr Abhisit and Mr Suthep have called ''terrorists'' at the rallies at Phan Fa Bridge and Ratchaprasong intersection out of concern for protesters' safety.
''Those people [behind the attacks] can do just about anything to achieve their goals, no matter how many people _ either red shirt demonstrators or soldiers and government officials _ die,'' said Mr Suthep, who supervises the Centre for Public Administration in Emergency Situations.
Alleged to be the man unmasked. Military authorities claim the man is a former ranger.
United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship leader Natthawut Saikua yesterday dismissed the government's claims that terrorists had shot and wounded soldiers and red shirt demonstrators on Saturday night.
He said many were killed by soldiers with a mission to put down the protests.
Mr Natthawut said Mr Abhisit should be removed from his position of prime minister so the truth could surface.
Twenty-one people died in the clashes on Saturday, four of them soldiers.
The government has decided to set up a committee to investigate the deaths. A special police investigation team under the Metropolitan Police Bureau has also been set up to track down the killers and is calling on members of the public to hand in still pictures or video clips from Saturday's clashes to the police.
The team includes investigators from all divisions of the MPB, city police chief Amnuay Nimmano said.
They will work in tandem with two other teams led by the Royal Thai Police and the Crime Suppression Division.
The UDD has vowed to continue its rallies until the prime minister dissolves the parliament.
The Election Commission's ruling to disband the Democrat Party was not a factor in suspending the demonstrations which began in mid-March, the UDD said yesterday.
The anti-government group plans to stage a rally today at the 11th Infantry Division to press the army to stop providing sanctuary for the prime minister.
The military compound in Bang Khen district houses the Centre for Public Administration in Emergency Situations and the temporary homes of the prime minister, the deputy premier and some cabinet members

all the truths, and the main factor still stands, PCs are upgradable, in hardware and software. Companies don't exactly patch console games and fix bugs after they're released.
Look at HL2, upgraded and dated for 64 bit processing to optimise and run better. Consoles can't compare, just revise how they're programed for.
