talking of reincarnation... my fan's dead father (died 13 years ago) has just come back as her nephew (now 1.5 years old). ( Confirmed by his ex wife and now grandmother!)

wish i had a belief... lost any i had long ago. Be nice to think of the wife and family seeing someone they loved again.

    good luck

Is he really busy around Christmas time ? Santa lives!!

And you need to visit Sayuri Entertainment Complex, quite obviously .

Or Pandoras ..... same same area and cheaper

Opens at 3 30 every afternoon.

    Enjoy ; ) ..... dave2

what if the OP is a female? i have a strange feeling its a she!

Good intuition. I am a she (hence the "Angela" in my name). I don't know what Sayuri Entertainment Complex or Pandoras are, but given YOUR reply, tigerbeer, I have a strong suspicion. :o And if I'm correct...I have no interest.

And ChiangMai2, I'll leave all the pre-ops for you. :D

Your "strong suspicion" Angela, is probably spot on.

Many of the people responding to your post are real "chok well's" TB excepted.....

    What's a "chok well?"

    Ask a Thai :D

    I think he means ชักว่าว

A kite ! Marvellous, I have been as high as a kite before but I've never directly been called a kite.. Lovely xx

  3. I forgot to mention Moon Muang Soi 2 (just behind "Mad Dog"). There also are a couple of bars, which can be quite busy sometimes. The most popular seem to be "The Jai Yen Bar" und "The Halfmoon Pub". Most customers are Brits.

I have a bit of a problem. Maybe it's because I'm a bit slow, but it was you who you started the thread about "where to go after dark now, without being the only customer? That's the question nowadays. As far as I see it, there are only 3 farang orientated places left, where you can be sure to meet other farangs" (and went on to nominate three bars "where an expat might not be the only one there")

Now you have added another two bars.

It would seem that in the past three days you have got yourself out and about and according to your last post might now have to admit that your OP was a long way from having any veracity. :o

Do you know what " I forgot to mention " means ?

Personally after dark ( sunrise ) I'm usually in bed or preparing breakfast! Chok well ?!?

  5. Tonight I was with my Thai wife at the restaurant at the Gymkhana Golf Course, which is near the Kawalla barracks.

I had "Fried Beef With Oyster Sauce", which was according to the menu 120Bt. But when the bill came, it was 140 Bt. When I asked why and showed them the menu, they said "sorry but the price of beef has gone up recently, that's why we have to charge more".

If I had been there by myself, I certainly wouldn't have paid it, but my wife said, "Mai Pen Arai". So just for my peace of mind, I paid it.

Is this another case of "TIT" (This is Thailand) or another attempt to rip off farangs, who don't know any better?

I am devastated to hear this news, my heart goes out to you.. You must feel like fleeing Thailand and going back home. Very sad news! It makes you wonder eh? Please get a life!

  6. I've been here in Chiang Mai since mid-March, teaching at one of the universities. My flight back home leaves next Wednesday. Today's my last day of work, so I'll have about a week off before I leave town.

Since I know I'll never be back, I want to make sure I haven't overlooked any of the important things to do here in CM. What are the must-sees and must-dos here? I've been to Doi Suthep, of course. I've done the Night Bazzar. Sunday Walking Street. Local markets. Elephants. Tigers. Snakes. (Oh, my!) Monkeys. Cooking. Massages. Lots of Thai food. Tailor-made clothing.

What am I forgetting? I don't want to get back home and kick myself for not doing the fantastically important _________ while here.

    Suggestions? Thanks!

Have you been with a pre-op lady boy?

Failing that I'd go to Tuskers... No trip to Thailand is complete without it......

  7. If blinky bill is reading, its 4 hours.

    otherwise its a SHAMEFUL ermmm...

leave 11am, get back 6pm... i think.. in my defense, i tend to stop at the coffee shops, and roadside cafes.. PLUS i usually do it with a thai on the back!

And before you say anything... yes yes yes. I have seen the guys leaning into the bends at a crazy angle. And no, i dont know/want to !! haha!

But i did beat that fuc_king onion truck down the mountain last time! whoohoo!

blinky bile can no doubt do it in 3, I'm sure I read that he did hua hin to Chiang mai in 5 hours or summit! He's a mad dog!If you know what I mean :o

  8. Need to go to Mae Sai sometime before 26th december, will be going on motorbike for fun.

Have cb400 (faster) or chopper (laid back speeds).

Anyone want to drive up as a Thai Visa-Visa run gang by bike and back?

Luckily my Fan says its too cold to go on the back of the bike this time, so i can enjoy the winding road that much more!

Possibly going the back way via Chiang Dao?

otherwise its on my lonesome again... ie: drive like a complete nutter to break my personal visa run speed record.

what is your visa run speed record ?

  9. Sorry, what's the story here?

Drunken idiot in a bar in Thailand? Wow.

I have met them all - NASA astronauts, Concorde pilots, Australian special forces, deep-sea divers and even a fat bore boasting about being ex US Navy (now that is sad).

Just move on to the next bar and leave them to it.

Just curious... what is so sad about the U.S. Navy?

The fat bore is sad for boasting about being in the Navy - Not the US Navy, they are all faggots!
