  1. Hello everybody,

I need to get some dental work done which means extraction and denture.

I live in Samui but I didn't find any suitable solution on the island.

So I asked some bangkok hospitals for a quote and some did answer:

    BIDH

    Vibhavadi

    Asavanant

    Dr Sunil

I didn't find any recent answers on the forum so I would like to have some opinions about these clinics.

    Thanks

  2. Reading this topic, I thought I was dreaming!

I have been paying for all the expencises (private school, medical insurance, etc.) of my wife's daughter for 7 years now but her father left 13 years ago?

My wife had to work hard before we met. If the Thai law says that the father have to pay, why this law isn't enforced? What is justice in this country?

  3. complicated now allot of people are taking their visa seriously. Now i can see person after person with problem after problem.

Don't know who the other person you got a quote from with. As sometime you pay more you get more and with serious visa problems the cheaper option could be the long term the more expensive option. Obviously this is not always the case.

I would ask people to PM you with the companies they use based on their experience.

First of all: I don't have any problem with my visa.

I would like to get a bit involved in my wife's business and I look for people who got a married visa and work permit to know the best way to do it. This forum is a better place to ask this kind of question than the bars.

  4. Hi everybody,

I make this post on the Samui section because my question is specific to the Surat Thani province.

I already know that it's possible to get a work permit based on a married visa in Thailand. The company only needs a 1 million THB capital, the number of employes is 2 and the taxes are lower than with a B visa.

After visiting two different accountants, one of them told me that the labor office of Surat only gives one month work permits on the married visa. The other one was too expensive.

Is that true? does any of you experienced it? If yes, I would like to have your feedback.

    Thanks.

  5. Hi everybody,

I will have to travel from Samui to Savanakhet for my visa in september.

I booked already my flights between Suratthani an Khon Kaen but I can't find any information about the buses from there to Mukdahan (transport.co.th only gives the times for the busses fom BKK).

As I will land in khon Kaen around 6 p.m, I would like to know if there is a chance to reach Mukdahan during the night.

    Thanks for your answers.

  6. Hello everybody,

I noticed that there are two kinds of excise stamps on top of the wines bottles: blue and orange. The orange one is on the cheapest bottles. What is the difference in the product quality? Are the orange bottled in Thailand?

  7. I know that it's not legal. I've been living in Thailand for some time and I know what "legal" means here. If the stamps are real, isn't it enough?

    ------------------

    Not really.

You can assume that someone was paid off to get those dodgy stamps outside of the normal channels.

Now if somehow this fact is discovered, who will be the "fall guy" that has to pay and/or suffer for that action.

The official who took the "bribe"? Nope.

The company who arranged the visa and paid the "bribe"? Nope.

The Farang who was involved in the process of getting the visa?

Oh yes, let's blame it all on the Faramg.

(if you don't understand that, you must not have been in Thailand very long..

Because the farang is the one who has the dodgy visa, let's blame him and maybe kick him out of the country.

    It's called the "Sucker's Bet".

Because if you win the bet you win very little, but if you lose the bet, you lose a lot.

You're a "sucker" to make a bet like that.

I live here for 8 years with legal visas and I have an income from my country, but it's not a monthly income and it is not valid for immigration. I asked the question because they advertise right now at the bottom of this page. Amazing country were you can advertise for somrthing illigal!

  8. I read on this forum about a year ago in an interview of high ranking members of immigration and labor office that if you don't get any income from Thailand, working here is not really legal but "acceptable". I don't really know what it means but if you don't talk about it, don't give your business cards all around, nothing will happen. Remember that most of the farangs who had problems here were denounced by other jalous farangs!

  9. Quick point ..

Guess you have to 'buy' a Laos visa when you cross over .. $30 or something similar??

and another 'PAIN' is a whole page of your passport gone .. with their one page visa / sticker ..

    Is this correct?

That's correct. A whole page for one sticker. Then the visa fee, which depends on your original country. Paying in baht around 1,500 for Laos, as you'll also have to pay to get stamped out. Only free for Swiss guys and many Asian nationals, as the Philippines.-wai2.gif

I'm Swiss, so I did chek a bit further and as I couldn't find any official lao web site, I got this:

Visas for Laos are needed for

    all passports except

    Japan, Republic of

    Korea, Russia,

Luxembourg and Switzerland. According to agreements made since 2005,

ASEAN country citizens should be given free entry for 15 days. However,

    visitors from

Indonesia and other ASEAN countries are being charged for entry into Laos.

This may also apply at other ASEAN country border control where the free

entry agreement has not been implemented or is being ignored.
