  1. My new Credit Card from Kasikorn has no magnetic strip... Use only the Chip. So i guess this is saver than the old credit cards with magnetic strips.

And sometimes i also become a message from the bank, when an amount is booked from the credit card. But not always... Till now it seems, that i become messages from smaller shops.. but when pay at restaurants, then not become any message... So this feature with the message i still not understand complete.

Sorry but that's only what the credit card companies thought. If you get close enough with these new skimmers you can get information off the chip. I think this is why police thought acting strangely like standing too close to people at the ATM. Then they get all information. Name pin expire date.

  2. Micro-loans can be a great thing, but this seems like one part help, two parts pandering. I like the quote that says "...so farmers don't lose to corruption....", which is just another form of the institutionalization of corruption, and the only mention of farmers in the article. Logic would tell me that to make people less susceptible to corruption, we need to get rid of corruption, not loan money to those susceptible to it, so they can pay for the corruption with an interest rate up to 20%.

The fallacies in the logic are so apparent and bold, that it should be considered embarrassing, not praised. But hey, what would a farang know. I'm still waiting for laws that make people accountable for their actions, corruption and plainly dishonest actions in the business world.

    Agree.

  3. BANGKOK, 6 February 2011 (NNT) - According to ABAC Poll, Thai society can accept government corruption if they can also make the country prosperous, people live happily and also receive some benefits.

Corruption 'IS' the reason why there are so many poor and unhappy people here not receiving any help.

Corrupt officials having their cake and eating it.

Agree. Corruption is the reason for peoples suffering. Look at what's happening with all the corrupt governments in the Middle East.

  4. a propery forensic doctor would be able to tell by his body mass and the ration he fell if in fact he did fall on the whiskey bottle....

i think in any other country this would be a murder scene stright away.......

I agree. Any other country would deem it a murder scene until the proportion of evidence would prove otherwise. They would not just makeup a story of what they think happened.

  5. they were real policemen, one in uniform, with badges and guns.

why they didn't stop at the journalist's house to check his passport (foreigners are obliged to carry their pass at all time - or at least a cophy of it) is a little strange, probably they decided, that wallets/ring/mobiles would be an easier prise, than entering the house and leaving empty handed.

I don't think you are required to carry ID in Thailand. You just must produce it in a timely manner if asked for it by the police.
