Update......Got the call yesterday to bring bike in this week for the inspection, said they'd have the bike for 10 days!!!!!!Gotta be some way round that?
There has got to be someone on this board who has been through this process, I would like to know what's involved
PLEASE
I was looking at buying one of his bikes, all was cool my wife was doing the negotiations. With all the problems lately (Customs confiscating bikes for not having the right duty paid on page 18 in the green book), we started asking more and more questions about the bikes history and invoices for duty etc... Funny a bike that was advertised for a very long time we were told was sold 15 minutes ago. It seemed that when we started asking questions he couldnt answer he just told us the bike was sold. Maybe it was?sounds dodgy alright by the sounds of that............
I doubt it very much, I'm guessing of course that you phoned him rather than being there face to face. What's he to think when a thai women(again,I'm guessing) calls asking alot of questions about things that might imply he's crooked in some way ?
Don't forget he was one of the vendors at the Bangkok Bike Fest.
I have to say he's been upfront, honest, and professional in every way so far.
Once I have my book and plate and verified then people here will know someone was treated right and perhaps they'd feel more comfortable dealing with him.I know it has been a real worry for me not knowing...cos it's a helluva lot of money and of course you tend to hear more about Thai dealer's ripping off farangs on forums
That's just my two bahts worth on that subject.

It's from Singapore but they look like a good company
Thanks again !
I meant that I've been waiting for 3 months now to go for the bike check/emissions test for the registration/plate/greenbook.
"If" I were to get the call tomorrow, I'd need to be pretty swift to get the new tyres sorted in time

Thanks Allan,
Fraid they're the wrong size , still gonna call him in the morn ya never know!
I'm looking for tubeless front 100/90 19" and rear 160/70 17"
Anyway, I had a look on denniskirk.com they priced front $108 and rear $158 thats $264 total=9,049 TBHT not including shipping so Paddock's prices are beginning to look better.
Just hope they are tubeless, just don't want to get called to this emissions test and fail over a set of tyres!!!!

Anyone know a specialty key shop in Bangkok where I can get a new key made for my bike(Harley). I've tried the usual key shops you always see near the entrance to Malls and Tesco's etc.
It's one of them round keys if you what I mean
Thanks
Is it a round type? Does it have a number on it?
Yep, that's the kinda key I'm talking about.I was at the Harley Dealership a couple of weeks ago ordering stuff, I asked, but then I asked if it was just easier to make a copy somewhere, they said yes Bangsomething can't remember that's why I'm asking here
Thanks

Stock handlebars are 10.5 inches tall,I'd like to go to 12" there very comfortable as is, I can see if you go to 16" plus that's when the would be dangerous/ awkward to turn. In that pic the bars look about 16"
As for ridiculous well to each their own, I've never slagged off anyone's bike or taste in bikes, not gonna start now
Soihok, What is it with you and bleedin' farmers???? Go brush yer Hair jeeeez
-
HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!
Did you actually click on the pictures??
A tractor???F.F.S.
I just thought that it looked similar to the red Ideas bike that's all, and a few fellas on here seemed to like that bike, for me it's too extreme, nice to look at but.
Here's a bike that's the same make and model as mine, I've got to say I really like the way it's been modded
As for the farmer quip your off the Christmas card list

Nah mate, I didn't til Dynabob mentioned its for reducing vibration.
I'll admit I'm no expert on all things bikes , one of the reasons I like to browse on this forum and others. There's a lot of knowledgeable people on here and I respect their opinions
If you don't ask you'll never know

Good for you!!!!,
Now what bike are you gonna buy?
-
Looks like it was built by the same shop as the Dream machine seen at Bangkok bike fest, for just 600,000 baht loverly
The new Rocker C I like this one too, this is at Chang Freemans
My trusty Transalp
My Streetbob '07 love this bike
This a beauty the "Folk bike" built by Thor choppers in Bangkok, never seen it at any of the bike weeks though

They look great but what are the benefits ?
-
btw when I went to buy the bike I paid a Thai 1,000 baht to come along and make sure everything was above board.
-
nothing else yet..........I'm waiting for the call to have the bike inspected(emissions test), its been more than 2 months now.
I have no idea whats involved at the testing centre or how long it takes ,so anyone with first hand experience can chime here if they want?
I'd say if you told Chang Freeman your situation he could do the paperwork/emissions test for you while you're out of the country...just an idea
-
Yes add on 80,000 baht to the price, but this should help you; you can pay that company half in advance then the balance when they give you the book /plate. I thought you had to pay 100%, it took me over 4 months to get the 80,000
-
His bike ise a 2006 how many bikes could there be in Thailand that theu could do that shit? Its the first bike /yeai the made it!
-
Yes, I bought my Dyna Street bob from him. Great price, No English though, he's in Suphanburi, its a bit hard to find but I can show you on any Saturday afternoon if you like.......
As far as the greenbook ,he gave me the number of the company that he deals with ,so I could deal directly with them, it's been over 2 months now, that seems to be the norm.
