  3. And what I don't like about Western attitudes:  ASSERTIVENESS.  I guess I feel "What is the point"  This is what I like about the Thai people!  I just figured It out!

nice topic for a thread, thanks !

    what I like? hmmmm....

    sincerety

even wai they give in supermarket has much more sincereity than typical western smile and "nice to meet u"

I don't know about others - but me, I can feel that these people mean it when they smile 2 me and offer respect with wai. if they don't mean it - they simply won't do it - simple enough! no any hipocrasy :o

another interesting thing is: their common habit to react on compliments: like if you say to some gal that she is suay - usually they always simply say "thank u!" it always puzzles me: no false modesty nor pride, no fuss nor agitation or annoyance of "u r trying flirt with me" .... just simple and humble: thank u, usually with averted eyes.

I guess can add something more later -at the moment these 2 things came to mind

They can forgive and forget .......

  4. How you know that she can speaks fluent cantonese ??
I was wondering as well. I suspect what he is referring is something else. I think it is the dialect spoken in "Chaozhou" as most chinese thais are chaozhou/thai. Not important though.

I think most older generation thai chinese speaks "teochew" but the most of the younger generation( i mean 30 below ) dun even know a single words like my galfren she is only 21 years old.

Well i ever came across one of the thai chinese , think she is about 35 above her cantonese is very good ........ she told me her mum from hong kong.

  5. Just wondered if anyone has any experience of this. I met a Thai Chinese girl who is charming and smart. Fluent Cantonese, Thai and English. She just seems a bit less flaky than pure Thai. Much as I love pure Thai. Just got a bit of an edge. Any thoughts.

    Hi

How you know that she can speaks fluent cantonese ?? you undertsand too ? Thai chinese smart and charming ? yeah , i admit that chinese are those cutie that i like but smart i think got to depends on how u look at it ?? By the way, my gf is thai chinese too.

No offence mean't but your'e trying to advertise an obviously public event on a public forum and yet chose to send details privately only when requested. What's the game you are playing that warrants such secrecy? :o

Here go guys, its not complete yet but will update it very soon.

Sports can be define as recreation, everyone needs leisure time because its part of our life. We get in touch with sports everyday, television coverage, newspaper sports column, sports magazine and sports websites. Sports make wonders, sports make us look good, sports are good for our health and it’s the best way of leisures. Since sports are so good, I suppose that everyone will participate in sports in some ways.

The main objective of this “Sports for Life” fair is to introduce more sports options to everyone. No matter you are 5 years old or 80 years old? No matter you are male or female? No matter you are sports active or not? I am sure that everyone can get the sports that they want in this fair. May it be membership sign up? May it be sports products? May it is TV or newspaper subscription that you want it for long time, may it be the magazine you yearn for long time but you can’t find. You name it! We have it all here because the entire participant will be the big boy in these industries.

This is a great chance for you to market your products in this ever booming Bangkok market for a very reasonable price which estimate that can invite more than 100,000 people to attend per day due to our positive marketing approach which I will explain to you in the next paragraph for this fair.

    Marketing Approach

    1) Sufficient banners and signboards will be display outside shopping malls, sports complex, Bts

Stations, bus stations, and main streets 2 months before the fair.

    2) Advertise on major newspaper and radio.

    3) Free shuttle bus will be provide on few designated Bts stations

    4) Staffs will be giving pamphlets around the event hall to inform the shopping center crowd to join these events. Sufficient signboards will be display around the shopping area to show that there are sports fair being held.

    5) Five-a-side soccer, golf trying and some sports game will be held .

    6) Lucky Draw, lucky draw will hold in every hour for a carton of beer or a mobilephone (still negotiate with the sponsorer) and a lucky draw for every 4 hour for a luxury handphone (still negotiate with Nokia and Samsung, if not the cost will bear by my company.) A grand lucky draw at the last day (a pair of return ticket to Hong Kong plus 50,000baht cash prize.)

    7) Every entry ticket will entitle a chance to the lucky draw and every purchase of certain sum or every membership sign up or every subscription will get their chances to the lucky draw too. (This will discuss further with the exhibitor.)

    Date of the Fair

October 22,23,24 over the weekends and after most of the major examinations.

    Venue

In the stage of finalising due to some technical problem but will be in the hall of shopping mall or near to the shopping mall.

    Price and Payment

Smallest booth size 3 square meter = 37,500 baht

Other sizes and design will charge accordingly base on customer needs.

  9. Yes, I think serious pool with good rules is slowly starting to catch on in Bkk. A good place to play is Flyers bar on the corner of Sukhumvit and Soi 22. They have 5 good tables, a complete list of international rules posted on the wall in English (unfortunately not in Thai, so the girls who work there and rack the balls, etc. do not know all the rules), and for good measure a couple of small signs prominently posted reminding customers that the penalty for a foul is ball-in-hand, not 2 shots. Also, Woodstock bar in Nana Plaza has 2 tables, the larger of which is pretty good, and great signs about ball-in-hand being the house rule, emphasizing NO 2 SHOTS. I love it. So, together with Megabreaks, Brunswick, Hillary, and even Colorando bar behind Hillary, where the owner Gus favors the real rules, pool players who want to play with less hassle have some good venues to choose from.

Flyers ?? this is the only place i been to so far but i find that "if the ball fly off the table the game is forfeited quite stupid" but overall i still like that place.

  10. Can we know details such as where, when, how long, how much without having to contact you personally?

    Hi thaialien8

I just send u a private message please check !!! thanks for ur email anyway.

  11. O.K, its like this, been with the G.F about 6 months, when we first met,(yes in a bar) we were out drinking and having fun all the time, basicly a holiday, i then felt it time to settle down and chill out a bit, now she moans about me being a cheap charlie, you tell me who is right

i pay 4000b p.m for the room plus electric and water all in about 5000

    i pay for the bike 2000 p.m

i give her a 300 b 1-2-call every month to yak yak with family and frinds

i give her 100b every day for food, which i know is well enough for them to eat on

plus we go out drinking twice a month, and i'll spend at least 1500b per night

so can the members here tell me, am i cheap or is she wanting to much?

p.s the fridge is always full of water, sodas bannanas....

Actually Yes and NO ......... On your part, you thinking that as a thai, 100 baht should be enuff for her for a day. MInd you , she is a huamn being not a animal she still need make up and misc ( sanitary pad, postinor and etc) SHe is in bkk if she looks pretty i think you are proud in some ways too. But If you think back , if she is going to get a normal job without you ..... how she is going to survive ?? i think less than 100baht , hehe :o:D:D:D:D

Human can never treasure what they have now , why ?????
