I doubt that Suthep will try to close Bangkok Bank since they are so big in international finance. Also, they are a big donor to his cause.

Right now I ship in only enough US $ for monthly expenses. I see further weakening in the baht based on current political conditions. Always ship in $, never baht. Do not make a conversion from Aus to US $. Ship only Aus $ from Oz.

Moradave.. Lenovo have been making phones for years
Sent from my XT1032 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
Yes, but not Motorolas with Android. I admit I never saw or heard of a Lenovo mobile phone.

I have a 2 year old Lenovo laptop. In addition to making good products, looks like they are also astute business people. Happy to see them get into mobile products. I think they will do well.

The most important thing in a democracy is the RIGHT to vote. To take away that right by intimidation is a crime of the highest magnitude and should be punished to the maximum allowed by the law.

One hundred years ago Thailand must have been a very beautiful place, large forested areas teeming with wildlife. Now it is mostly deforested, over-cultivated and thoroughly exploited, and especially devoid of fauna apart from an infestation of wretched dogs. The beaches are average and the country is verging on becoming overpopulated, with heavy road traffic in many areas.
So what exactly are all these millions of tourists coming here for? The entertainment and shopping I can understand, but for natural unspoiled beauty they would really be better going to Burma and Laos, not to mention destinations further afield such as Africa.
This desperate greed for the tourist dollar is sad to behold.
Come on. We know exactly what the millions of tourists come here for. It's for natural unspoiled beauty of course, but not the kind found in Burma, Laos and Africa.

Vote buying may not be a decisive factor, but "get out the vote" is. Isn't vote buying in Thailand not, in reality, an effort to get the most people possible to vote, hopefully, for your side? In a democracy, isn't a large voter turnout a good thing?

Try Baan SaranNuch Executive Residence in On-nut. Next to award winning green market. Easy walk to BTS, Tesco and Big C.

" When the Thai electorate elected the current government they did so in the clear knowledge that Yingluck was the Pheu Thau candidate for Prime Minister."When the Thai electorate elected the current government they did so in the clear knowledge that Yingluck was the Pheu Thau candidate for Prime Minister.
In the previous election Abhisit was the equally clear Democrat candidate for Prime Minister. He was rejected by the electorate. That he ended up as Prime Minister was due to a process which could be at the very least be described as facilitated by groups outside the electoral or democratic process. He had no electoral mandate to be the Prime Minister.
I rather suspect (wearily and cynically) that the current crisis will eventually end the same way, with Abhisit installed as Prime Minister. It will possibly be the least violent result, but will be no solution, and will only kick the can down the road, for how long remains to be seen.
Rubbish. She wasn't selected until after.

So Yinglucks selection as Prime Minister came as a complete surprise to all those millions who voted for Pheu Thai?
What an extrordinary thing to believe!

Of course the Thai electorate knew she would be Prime Minister. The number 1 on the party list of the winning party is always chosen for Prime Minister, and she was number1 on her party's list.

I do believe that the South will survive with out those officials.
Oh and you seriously believe government officials in Bangkok work faster/are more competent? I've had my case with the Attorney General's office alone for the past year and a half.
No.
I don't think that many officials at all in this country produce anything else than enriching themselves trough bribes and various scams. How many times have you had a great service when visiting any of the various Thai authorities? I can't remember any time during the last 30 years that I have been smiling and thought that I had received a great service after walking out from a government run office.
In my 8 years in Thailand I have always had great service from Immigration in both Pattaya and now in Bangkok. I also had great service at the Land Ofice in Pattaya when buying our house and at the Amphur in Banglamung when getting our marriage certificate. No bribes paid or asked for.

The anti-government motto "do as I say not as I do"
Or, as my beloved Army drill sergeant used to say "Don't do as I do, do as I say do".

I have owned an LG 32" LCD for about 18 months. Works great with HDMI connection from laptop computer. No problems. Picture OK in bright room. I am sure the larger sizes will perform equally well. Highly recommend.

This whole farce is predicated upon a legitimate government asking for their being voted for in an 'election'. Those posters crying for a Western style democracy should ask themselves how they would respond to their home countries being run by proxy from a criminal fugitive, such proxy now being investigated for the sequestration of billions of dollars from state coffers, and no wait, , asking for a further feed at the trough!
If the situation was this bad in the USA, impeachment by the House would be mounted with trial before the Senate. If found guilty, all parties would be removed from office and a new President designated according to the constitution. That president would then form a new cabinet and government to serve until the next regularly scheduled election. Impeachment of the President has only been done twice in US history with no convictions by the Senate.

If it's a wall mounted flat HD screen, it probably is digital. Measure the diagonal screen size in inches, then go to Google and key in the info such as Phillips HD TV 32". Then look for a picture of the TV that most resembles yours. That should give you your answer.

I compose my emails using Word 2010 with all of its spell and grammer checking features. I then copy the text to the clipboard and paste into the email (Yahoo in my case) composition window. No worry about the size of the window, the length of the message or losing the text I have typed. Works great.

I have owned 2 HP's (1 a Compaq model) and a Lenovo. Lenovo is by far the best. No trouble in 18+ months. Very cool running and quiet. Highly recommend. Never buy the cheapest model (ComPaq) or the most expensive (HP). Mid-range (Lenovo) is better unless you need a lot of power for gaming and/or graphics.

Fruits and vegetables. Cheaper and better than the Mexican, Florida and California grown produce in the USA.

Yingluck said it best "If you don't want me, don't vote for me".

Respect my vote is political genius. Peace and love will always trump violence and hatred. Gandhi knew this. So did Mother Theresa, Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela. Suthep needs to learn it.

Respect my vote has probably done more damage to Suthep's campaign than anything in recent weeks. That, plus the candle lighting meetings and white baloons are bound to help Yingluck and her PTP regain the moral high ground.

you need a new computer, those lenovos and dells are notorious for this fault. try asus.
Nonsense. All you need is a PDF reader on any computer that doesn't have one.

The free PDF reader I like best is http://www.nitroreader.com/download
It allows you to edit, make typewriter type entries, sign, save and pass on the document. Also allows you to enter pre-defined fields in Acrobat documents.

Don't expect too much since millions will be watching around the world. Opening ceremony at 7:30 am Thai time on Sat 8 Feb 2014.
NBC will also stream selected events, probably also on delay.
