Chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine were on WHO list till August. Some countries dropped them from their lists recently. Some are still using. So there ate researches and good clinical results.

Thailand claimed at the beginning of february, to cure covid using tamiflu, anti-flu medicine, at several patients. This medicine is made in thailand by rhe government pharmaceutical organisation and is not expensive. For flu is also used as prophylactic.

re hydroxichloroquine, you need to attach your sources with valid, peer reviewed clinical trials showing it to be effective (there are no such valid, peer reviewed research papers, don't waste your time). Your suggestion that the WHO were somehow all gung-ho about HCQ as late as August seems unlikely as the following link is from the WHO's very own website, it's research to download from *June* for your reading pleasure, it's a full 18 pages long so if it's TL;DR for you, in summary it says "HCQ isn't proven to be effective": https://www.who.int/publications/m/item/targeted-update-safety-and-efficacy-of-hydroxychloroquine-or-chloroquine-for-treatment-of-covid-19

On your second statement, am not sure what you are even suggesting re Tamiflu as it's been perfectly clear since approximately forever that it is not effective against covid 19, and how could it be? Maybe you have a vague memory of Thai doctors back in February having hit a handful of covid patients with Tamiflu and a bunch of HIV anti-retrovirals and they didn't die. Since then, all those medical approaches have proven clinically ineffective.

  2. It's big city vibes vs medium town chill, that's the question.

Terrific list of points by Seligne above.

It's tough to give you more advice because you don't say how you wish to live, lifestyle, rent/buy, house/condo etc, sports expectations? As mentioned, the visa process thing is relatively painless. But that cannot be your main question right? Give us more specifics on your lifestyle expectations and we'll say if they'll be met :)

We love Hua Hin, been here for over 6 years. Easy to live, plenty of restaurants/bars and all other amenities. Being a small-ish town you quickly make friends, meet up at sports bars, wine bars and so on. It really is relatively friendly here. It's clean(er) too.

  3. It would of course be much smarter to sell the car as it's yours and then just tell her.

But go ahead and crush it, it's this sort of batsh!t crazy stuff that makes Thai Visa forums such an essential use of bandwidth.

I for one look forward to your video and then the subsequent video that your daughter posts of your house on fire and you with a live monitor lizard rammed up your butt.

    *drum roll*

    1. 56 waist is huge. If you're that size, you have bigger problems than not being able to get a ticket on a few airlines. Impending death, needing a crane to remove your body and spontaneous combustion  spring to mind.
    2. A simple search of airline seatbelt length (google is amazing isn't it?), yields a picture of shorter seatbelts on many airlines. However, seatbelt extenders appear to be available to those who lack the self control to stop drinking rendered pork fat.
    3. The fact they won't accept toddlers on laps in biz class is by some distance Thai's best (maybe only) marketing ploy ever. Think it through.

Er no. The more toxic the bad food the quicker the reaction . Really toxic food poisoning can give you instant diarrhea at the table. Mild food poisoning might not kick in till the day after. The most famous victim of food poisoning was the film director and gourmet Michael Winner who died from Oysters bought in a posh restsurant.

Micheal Winner did not die from oysters bought in a posh restaurant

"On 1 January 2007, Winner acquired the bacterial infection Vibrio vulnificus from eating an oyster in Barbados"

"In an interview with The Times newspaper in October 2012, Winner said liver specialists had told him that he had between 18 months and two years to live............Winner died at his home, ...., on 21 January 2013"

    • It is not always the last thing you ate that made you sick — it could be anything you have eaten days, weeks or, in the case of listeria, even months before.
    • Diarrhoea is unlikely to start less than four hours after eating of food.
    • What you bring up is not necessarily the cause of your illness — it is just what was in your stomach when the symptoms started.
    • Diarrhoea and vomiting illnesses can also be caused by contaminated water from swimming pools.
    • Food does not have to look or smell bad to be contaminated.
    • Vomit does not always contain carrots — it is often lumps of orange-coloured bile.

    Facts dammit!

What airline has a girl waiting with the pass? I've flown Cathay 8 times and JAL once in business the last 3 years. They give out the Premium Lane pass on the plane along with the immigration form.

    ....

Trying to remember, for sure Finnair and Sri Lankan. Too many others I've arrived in Biz Class so cannot recall modus operandi of all... includes Air Canada, Cathay, Turkish, Austrian, Malaysian to name a few.

I suppose some will fly with the pass on board already, some do not.

  6. Duh all round.

    1. What is their basis for going to the police? Getting someone pregnant is not against the law unless she's underage, which you don't mention

    2. Just pay for DNA test

    3. If it turns out to be your son's then its time to take decisions.

Kind of like in any country don't you think hmmmm? Sheesh.

  7. Somewhat surprised to see precisely zero China Mainland airports in the World's Worst. Having spent the best part of 3 miserable years doing China on business trips monthly, I can confirm that I'd rather repeatedly lick an airline seatback tray than go through one more Chinese airport.

IMHO Suvarnapooooom comes way below China airports in my overall Kill-Me-Index. I challenge you to find a decent meal or coffee anywhere from Shanghai to Dalian, Hangzhou or Kunming. Don't get me started on Duty Free options. Dalian: "would you like Chinese White Wine or a packet of Sea Cucumber, Sir?".

  8. "Suffice to say that Hua Hin is perceived to have a much lower crime rate than Pattaya."

By two people. The contributors to the HH column number a whopping two. Almost enough for some bonafide anecdotal evidence.

Not that I disagree with the "findings", just they can't be statistically relevant.

Anyway, Pattaya is a brothel which, from some angles, and in a certain light, occasionally looks like a city.

Hua Hin is a town with just enough potholes to remind you you're in Thailand.
