Step closer today, yellow book and a pink id card at last.
Few questions for anyone with prior experience on these matters.
1) Points for salary, read conflicting information on calculation.
Assuming last calendar year was on one rate, part way through this year increased. Can I base on currently monthly rate? Or this year average? Or last year tax report average?
2) Had an immigration official mention that if cases are equal, service towards Thailand (eg. volunteering/charity work) push cases along faster.
Not entirely sure if this referred to citizenship or PR, already got some under the belt but curious whether this fits past applications or not.
3) Points for time on yellow book, seen mention that some have got the max 5 points (without PR) for less than 5 years on yellowbook.
Any experience, if so, how long were you on?
-
Can be quick or slow, no normal period.
Sometimes a few months start to finish, sometimes several years.
Occasionally applications will be left on a desk if staff change, department head on holiday etc, one of mine they didn't fully understand so it got stuck for ages.
Need to chase up for a status report periodically, but not too frequently or too pushy since you need the officers assistance.

After a few weeks finally got through 317 pages.... few remaining questions if anyone can help.....
1) Does anyone have any experience in how calculations for the salary is determined, in the case of a recent increase.
Seen that current or past year are different options, with different levels, but whats criteria for current.
To clarify, have been above minimum for enough years, just increased salary to equivalent for max this month. Pro rata annual at end of this year /12 should be max, but half year pro rata when I may apply wont be.
Key question: How do they calculate current salary? How long should I wait to apply?
2) Yellow book - I am in chonburi but think have an option in BKK planning to use.
Am I best to apply for yellow book first in Chonburi where I have house/wife/kids and then transfer after issued? Or apply first yellow book in Bkk?
3) Any issue in change of yellow book location mid application?
Can I register BKK to apply through main special branch, then move yellow book mid process while waiting on MOI?

If you have the money to show do it the right way, no doubt about that.
But if you don't, the alternative works fine, bulk of the "fee" goes to the immigration officer who places money in your bank for the verification then processes the visa correctly as normal. Based on behind the scenes first hand knowledge.-

Though workpermit should be returned to labour office when you cease employment, whether the permit expires same day or not. Might not matter if you leave for good but could have effect on future permit.

Foodland in Pattaya klang has some non iodised natural sea salt for 15b or something similar. Bought a few weeks back for some bacon, turned out great.

First problem with this thread is 50% lack of knowing what startup even means. SME or new business is not the answer.
Next, foreign VC concerns of Thailand are real but not critical. Omise, hotel quickly, agoda, grab... Highlights of Thai startups are all incorporated overseas with local operating branches. Mine too.
Pessimism of Thai ecosystem also not true, the ecosystem exists and is growing. Recently raised Angel funding, joined incubator pre revenue so discard those claims.
It's not the valley but can be done. -
Siam Country has closed, noticed today but could have been before. U talking about that one or is it city wide?

Why would a restaurant have a consultant? Manager is more realistic and same workarounds involved.

Yes, they are. Try getting seed money to grow your idea and you'll hear the advise "incorporate in Singapore or Hong Kong and we might look into it". Take a looksee at AngelList and it's pretty apparent.Besides, they know the nerds are already working under the radar in Starbucks, McDonalds and the local internet cafe. Crafty bastards, those nerds.
And Where's the problem? Doesn't stop you running a successful, profitable Thai BOI supported company that is wholly owned by a Hong Kong company that is supported by investors.
Tax and IP benefits in the structure, solves Thai legal issues though if the workforce is here Thailand still benefits through tax and wages.
Ignoring seed investors concerns is nothing to do with Thailand and a simple reflection of the business they refused. Many Thai based startups got millions of dollars in investment.
Number of shareholders been an odd Thai company rule but not an issue ever for foreigners. 7 was added paperwork but changed years ago, 3 for ages was easy. 51% thai is key factor that's not changed but impossible for a single foreign owner.
But BOI, foreign businesses license and preferred shares make the reality less complicated than the scare stories.

No knowledge on nursing courses, but on my record breaking day I interviewed 12 computer science graduates looking for programming jobs where not one could pass a simple test that is the equivalent of 'check the pulse' eg. day 1 training in the industry.
13th candidate no better but turned up uninvited to closed interviews!

They make it sound like the ferries are now no longer needed.... But unless they worked ultra fast on the second bridge (not mentioned in article) since I last visited this only replaces the shorter of the 2 ferries.
Still will help a lot, should cut hour journey down to 30 mins.
-
Always found true fast but horrible for things where connection matters, eg. Voip, ssh etc.
3bb been great at home and work for years.
But if you truly want low ping, it costs. 20k for 2MB leased line will be better ping, better latency and overall better performance than a 2k 100MB shared connection.

Shareholder no.
Director signing docs outside country no.
Director signing in country yes.

Seemed clear to me, which op confirmed on reply.
Can a computer be identified even after being wiped clean and new os (linux) installed.
All answers relating to Windows and software identification irrelevant.
Mac address on lan, wifi and Bluetooth etc identifiable still although many can be altered manually.
Motherboard serials etc can be identified but not so commonly transmitted.
Advice to op: wipe hard drive by writing 0 start to end multiple times, place in a plastic tub of acid, take remains into sealed metal box and send into space. Now non identifiable.
-
Sounds like you are interested in whether the pc can be uniquely identified despite new os.
If so windows gone solves part, most hardware doesn't communicate serial numbers, but network devices such as wifi and network plugs will have Mac address the same on Linux as it was under Windows.

BOI cost is generally the same, occasionally more if they force you to pay to convert the previous valid visa you already paid for.
Plane tickets and hotel sounds like including visa with work permit (often done).
20k for visa+work permit is a good price likely done internally without outside help.
20k for just work permit ok price through service company, or if done in house from the sticks and needing days to get to labour office.

Yes, carrier grade Nat as stated in the quoted post.
And the solution also stated in quoted post, ask your ISP. It's free, no need to pay and no need for static IP, public dynamic one is fine.

Do labour and social security departments talk to each other? No.

Been doing the same nua to ekamai trip regularly for months now. Never happened once until last trip a week or so ago both trips out and back stopped at that exact same gas station.
My guess is paid off with cheap fuel to force passengers into the shop. Made a long enough journey even worse, will be looking into alternatives from now on.

What everyone needs to understand is lazada is a marketplace and not a shop. Some things they sell themselves and control the full reliable service. Others are 3rd party sellers, some good, some bad, some local, some overseas, all clearly labeled, and lazada cannot be blamed directly for all 3rd party activities.
They control and manage as much as possible, but some beyond their control.
Overall, with own products and good name sellers, excellent service.
No name sellers, same as any street market. Expect what it is and avoid risk with great benefits.

Exactly the point.First number 100 right? Secondess than 64?
Those are unrouteable addresses. They will never be reported by web sites like whatsmyip.
Got the less/more than 64 wrong way round but OP confirmed anyway.
Router has been assigned a carrier grade Nat as the public IP address.
What's my IP sees the true public (sharded) IP address.
Port forwarding etc impossible, but most isps will put you on a white list to not get carrier grade Nat if you ask, just need to get past 1st support line to the team that knows what this is.

Most will never use more than 4gb now unless gaming and 8gb plenty.
Like the previous poster (was it op?) I also run multiple virtual machines, dual screens and 32gb ram, currently in 60% swap after a few weeks, can use it if you really do!
But if you can use 16gb in ram chances are you do know your computers so can sift through the advice and know what's actually good and what's not, why ask!?
Agree that 15k plenty for normal use, including HD screen. Built plenty like that last few years for staff, all very fast with SSD.
But avoid my latest mistake, case with USB3 front ports while mobo has USB2 expansion pins!
