  1. Just got back from the Kad Suan Kaew shopping mall and I didn't see any underwear put plenty of pants and shorts up to at least size 42. I also saw a nice 4XL Tall Eddie Bauer T shirt. I picked up a few golf shirts for 79baht each. This store has a different "export" name and I can't remember it now, but they all have export in the store name.

  2. I don't know of a one stop shop that has everything. I also went through the underwear headache! I tried buying the largest sizes and they were way too small. Then I discovered these export shops. A couple names in Chiang Mai are Der export and 71 export, I would think there are other similar stores in Thailand. I have been able to buy everything including underwear although not all at the same store and the inventory changes so if I don't see something in my size one day it might be there the next. I was able to buy Champion underwear for 80 baht which are very comfortable, they had sewn the wrong label (size) into them and that's why they wound up at the export shop but other than that they are perfect. I bought a couple of different brand names and some of the underwear I bought turned out to be too big. I saw a golf shirt at one the other day, 8XL! Some of the stuff have the tags removed but not all, the most common brands I've seen are Old Navy, The Gap, Columbia, Champion, Wrangler, Patagonia, Pierre Cardin, Levis, Van Heusen, Port Authority.

  3. I have one free pass to any Maple Leaf lounge left that expires February 28. It is only good for one person and it has to be used in conjunction with an Air Canada Flight (no code-shares) and it has to be a Maple leaf lounge (it won't work in a Thai lounge). It would be good for someone who is flying in to YVR or YYZ and then connecting to anywhere else since you could relax and have a free drink or six while you wait for your connecting flight. You could also take it if you have another flight in Canada before the end of Feb.

There is no name or personal info on it, nor does it need to be put on the pass. The conditions are spelled out clearly on the pass, they give several every year to frequent flyers, I'm sure a lot of people here are Star Alliance gold members, so you know what they are. I hate to see it go to waste and am not leaving till the end of Feb myself. I live near Kad Suan Kaew and sometimes go to Number 1 bar for a drink so we could meet up at either place if you want it.

    Cheers!

  4. I like Shure. They are the in ear type and they have a model in that price range. I have seen them in Bangkok but I have never seen them in CM. There is a Thai distributor so you could call and see if there is a store in CM that sells them. They do take a while to be broken in, I thought they didn't sound so great at first but after a while I tried a pair of Creative and I realized how good the Shures really are.
