chai-yo, chai-yo--bravo
who is really number 1 in a typical family?.... lol
my teenage daughter said 'you love your birds more than me! because you always feed your birds first!'
my teenage son said 'you love my sister more than me! because you always buy ice cream for her first!'
my wife said 'you don't love me. you just use me like a buffalo! always running off with my children!'
my mother-in-law said 'why are you always staying home every night taking care of the wife and kids?
go out and have fun in town!!!!!'
my wife's sis said 'what is the matter with you farang kee-nok (ref to bird shit, a thai slang, meaning
worthless). i never get to see your ugly face in my pub at all! have you lost your mind?! everyone
should have some fun sometimes! are you afraid of my sister or something?!'
who is really number 1?
pathetically, in the final analysis, the old fool thinks that he is still #1 forever.... lol

gee wiz....
it is truly a horrifying relationship and story to read, especially at 4 in the morning.... lol
just so, our diversified farangs' experiences are balanced out, in this case, slightly in favor of thai lady....
there are also other farangs, i believe, who have positive relationships with their wives/gf. one particular
family came to mind.
the thai wife owns everything, with her name on everything--even the brandnew pickup truck which
was purchased with the usd. the land itself stretches from one 2-lane freeway to another. within this
property sits a western styled resort, waterfalls, steams, brooks, caves and amazonic miniature
rainforest for tourists and diners to enjoy.
what is it worth? let me see.... yes, i am still counting....
yes, this is a true story.
is the man invalid perhaps, in some way? physically? mentally?
no, he certainly is not, definitely not, that i know of anyway.
why on earth am i relating this real life story anyway?.... lol
oh, yes, i remember now....
just for us to realize that we do not all look at and treat thai ladies
the same way and at the same level of desire and appreciation....
and most importantly, most thai ladies are not at all very
experienced and sophisticated with the exception of those educated abroad.
besides, they are easily led astray by us as well.... shame on me.... lol
-
a truly sad story indeed....
most of the time, the suspiciousness is right on the mark!
be kind to your companion in life, even if she somehow, sometime mistreated
your majesty grossly.... lol
just wondering, if i missed something in my poor speed reading exercises.
how is this story related to any farang interrelationships.
i must have missed something.

personally, as a person coming and going out of hkg very frequently, i do not think you and
your tw would have any immigration problem entering and leaving hkg when papers are in order.
as we know, appearances, mannerism and protocol are vitally important in oriental culture.
if you are more individualistic than most, then macau would be a much better accommodation.
they are much more accepting of individualistic life styles.... lol
a few chinese phases might go a long way too, if you care:
ah sirr; officer,
tor-chay; thanks,
tor-chay-sai; thanks alot
umm-goi; excuse me pls
don't jump on me yet.... this is cantonese, applicable in hkg
but if you are in china, it is different entirely:
sae-sae: thank you
tui-puur-chee: excuse me
nin-how: how are you? for both musculine and feminine
jai-jian: farewell, solong, goodbye
oppp, sorry, got carry away a bit.... but that was all
the chinese i know.... lol

in reference to withdrawal from atm:
there seems to be a withdrawal limit set by the atm-owners, in addition to the ones imposed by
your own bank or the withdrawal limited personally selected by you.
i was able to withdraw from atm 15,000 usd in hkg but i was rejected by all major thai bank owned
atm in thailand--all displaying on screen message such as, contact the issuing bank.... lol
currently in thailand i was able to withdraw only 40,000 baht each day, not each transaction either.
whenever there is a need for more, i need to approach the bank teller who would go thru the
imprinting routine. most tellers were friendly but a few were different acting as if they were
protecting their money rather than giving us our money.... lol
try a different bank and/or a different atm machine, you may get the amount you want. good luck.
and THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR VISITING/STAYING/LIVING IN THAILAND.... honestly!
and from the bottom of my heart as well.... !

well, can we try this out?
any of us who thinks he/she can help (not involving money) in starting up a group of people
of likemind like us who would like to help thailand to reconsider its pending nuclear generator plant construction
project, sends email to this email address which would then, by august 1, 2009, one month from now; tabulats
its received ideas and opinions; then, we would proceed from there.
perhaps, afterwhich date--aug 1, 2009, someone who is more knowledgeable would pickup the ball running.
the email address is [email protected]
thank you very much for trying to help getting this important info to the thai people

MIKE
YOU FORGOT ONE IMPORTANT THING!.... THE US EMBASSY IN BKK
IF YOU DO WHAT YOU SAID YOU ARE GOING TO DO, YOU WILL NOT PASS THE US EMBASSY COMPUTER INQUIRY....
THE COURT ORDERS, THE CHILD SUPPORT/WIFE SUPPORT WILL FOLLOW YOU WHEREVER YOU GO--THAILAND OR OTHERS
DON'T DO IT, MIKE!
YOU WILL HAVE WORSE THAN A DOG'S LIFE, HAVING TO LOOK OVER YOUR SHOULDER EVERY SECOND OF EVERYDAY
EVERY KNOCK ON YOUR DOOR WILL MAKE YOUR HEART SKIPS....
MIKE, DON'T DO IT, PLS!

ignore it.
the term often used to refer to negativity.
specifically, the word is used to refer to the arch fallen angel, lucifer,
who wanted to be equalled with God and was thus expelled from
heaven together with those who supported him. if my memory
served me correctly.

what are you offering in exchange for the 550k you need?

ALL MY FRIENDS IN THAILAND
just in case you have not noticed--99%+ OF THAIS LOVED THEIR ROYAL MAJESTY THE KING AND QUEEN
to the point of willing to give up one's life to protect the royal family.
whatever you say or do in reference to this most worshiped institution, you need to pay the utmost
respect.
unlike the american or the british citizen who can say funny things about the monarch, verbally or
in printed forms, such as funnies, cartoons etc.
but the thais would not be so understanding nor forgiving to hear or see their most loved royal leaders
being put into such position.
thai statue prescribes severe punishment but the individual red blooded loyal thais would be even more
punitive to the n-degree.
like the wise one said long time ago,
when you go to rome, just have fun and
do not deviate too much from the romans.... cheers

come on, ya'll seasoned global travellers
culturally, most asians are not the most outgoing types as compared to most westerners.
in my younger years, these aforementioned countries were visited several times annually.
should you be fortunate enough to run into asians who were educated in the west, they would be most
delighted to assist you, whether you were in north korea, south korea, tokyo, taipei, manila or thailand.
at least, that was my personal experiences whenever i landed in those and other asian airports.
yesterday, an american friend flew in from jfk. he was reiterating about how cold the people in london
appeared to be. besides, the parisians seemed to be so self-centered.... <now wait a minute,
my daughter in law is french.... and she is most attentive to all my son's needs.... lol>
sincerely hope, your next visit would be much more captivating with someone who could converse
in english, whether good english or pigeon english.... lol

this direct number of the ss benefits office in the us might be able to help,
but first you would need to answer plenty of your personal data questions online
and you need to speak english distinctively with proper voice and diction.... lol
so the computer lady voice would be able to decode your verbal response.... lol
before some live assistant would speak to you.
yes, i have had plenty of personal experiences.... lol
but some other friends were cussing something fierce before, during and
after the climax.... lol
here is the number 1.800.772.1213 (even though it is an 800, but you need
to pay cause we are not in the territory of the us)

been listening in on the parliamentary debate today, wed 09-06-17. the various
numbers and statistics thrown around were not much different from this main
post above.
various senators would use different sets of stat to support whatever they were
purportedly saying or pushing. most have no shame or know no shame in whatever
they were saying or implying on the floor, just so they would feel good or appear
to be right in their own arguments.
worst of all, i must have been even a greater fool myself.... to have spend so many
hours listening to whatever they were trying to say....
all the time hoping that after next election there will be more honest representatives
on the floor.
yes, summarily the current govt does seem to be more transparent in its running of
the country and the projects.

well, well.... growing rubber trees in the northern provinces....
hey, there is nothing wrong with that! with modern methodologies, technologies and hormonologies etc. and all!
just curious and wandering, if the sticky white stuff running off, of the little trails around the trunks of the
rubber trees grown in the northern provinces and the southern provinces are quantitatively and quantitatively
comparable in terms of prices in the southeast asia stock markets nowaday?.... lol
even more curious now--as it appears in the aforementioned posts, there seems to be many more farangs secretly
owning or participating in the proprietorship of rubber trees or the land they grow on, in the northern provinces
than in the south which has been widely known as the land of the rubber plantation....
is it because of the news of the unrest in the south? or is it because of the price differentiations?
just last week, some really smart alex landowner trying to sell off his prime agricultural land by asking from
my equally sharp chinese business friend, owner of a trucking company, at the price of 2.5 mil baht per rai....
and this plot is only less than 1/4 kilo from our homestead.... if someone is willing to pay such price,
we'll probably join some of you guys, moving to one of the rather peaceful northernly provinces as well... lol

this response is addressed to sanook2me's and cognos'
so it is imperceptive to 'bash farang women' in thaivisa?
and it is proper to belittle thai women or any other feminines or nationalities in thaivisa?
just wonder, how many single/married farangs who live here and/or have families here would
agree with your discriminative point of view?

another recent bike incident, another brit, wez, my friend, was fortunate to escape the kiss of death with only one broken arm and a broken foot. he too woke up in the hospital in extreme agony without being able to recall what really happened. the owner of the pickup truck slowing down near the railroad crossing reported to the police that wez was zizzling through the curve and smacked into the side
of their pickup which was traveling in the same direction and therefore was fortunate to be alive. wez ended up paying 180,000+ baht medical bill.
yes, my friend was extremely fortunate to have all his faculty members back at the cost of only 180,000 baht. he vowed never to mix the two devils again--DRINK AND DRIVE!
-
incident such as this, had it happen in the best bar in trang, cha-ngaw pub and restaurant,
its gracious lady owner p-timm, would have prabably blessed her and throw in a free drink as well....
such is the major major local attitude difference between phuket and trang where farang are
treated with genuine appreciation and 'thank you for visiting our historical town'.... attitude!
a wealthy former auto dealer, a 200 pounder, also retired there with his tiny thai wife and their little girl.
according to him, trang is the best kept secret in thailand.... to date
where everyone pays only 50 baht for a 5 kilo tuktuk drive.... lol
-
it appeared the arrest happened on may 3.
don't we have a phuket forum out there?
wonder what they discovered and knew about this very sad situation?
didn't the phuket forum members have any opportunity to
offer any assistance to ms smoel?
just thinking out loud, friends. no intention to offend any one.

hi shido
so how do you like trang? share your traveling experiences with us, will you? if you have time.
btw, did anyone there show you the unusual local thai restaurant which has been offering excellent
original thai food for the last twenty years or so? the owners guaranteed that if any customer is
dissatisfied with her food, she will gladly refund the money with no question asked--guaranteed. the owner's name
is par-toi who would often prepares your order fresh from scratch. so far, i was told, she never has to
refund any customer yet.
her restaurant is surrounded by caves, amazon-like trees, rushing streams, waterfalls etc. truly one
of its kind in the kingdom.
so far, it is the best kept secret in trang.
it is only 5 kilo from trang town at the intersection of liang-muang and nong-troot.
the place is called krua-tub-tieng.
did you visit this place?

for easethesqueeze:
yes, there are people who could go without sex for a whole year.... and longer....!
speaking of myself of course.
and it was by choice then, not by circumstances either.
granted that it was a fashionable thing to do on campus, but there were
several others like myself who just prefered to pursue other interests instead.
critics may retrot, what other interests?
to name a few, buying old houses and restoring it for resale, for example.... lol
yes, that sure was more fun.... having to, on your hands and knees,
tackle hundred of different positions.... lol
and the fun lasted a lot longer too.... 3 to 6 months at a time.... lol
but it is surely not for everyone, i humbly concur.
some might chuckle and thought.... it must be the faulty equipment that rendered
the proprietor useless....
far from it, the hormone surely was bubbling like others, but it was the conscious
decision to do something different.... not necessary more fun, but imo certainly
seemed more challenging.
to each.... his/her own.... lol

here a link for those of you who read Thai
re: webfact's post
the referenced article was about govt seeking compensation for the seriously injurious person suffered at the hand of red shirt.
it did not appear to have anything to do with the assasination attempt on sonthi.

Buying A Home With American Money
in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership

sawaddee krub, welcome. when you have time try to go back and read the numerous posts
concerning a farang owning real estate in thailand. there are many brilliant suggestions there.
but more importantly, locate a competent lawyer team to assist you in this important investment, ok?
under the current statue, any farang can purchase real estate but you can not own it, legally.
but your thai wife can. and there are numerous ways to structure this. succinctly, only thais can have
their names on the cha-note, legally.
on the other hands, there are several farangs i knew, both from the states and european countries,
who bought lands and built homes for wives and children, even though, the children are not theirs....
bless thier kind hearts. amen.
most importantly, do not try to circumvent the funny thai laws concerning properties and such, yes, i
know many smart people are doing it, but fundamentally we should avoid this approach, imho.
why oh why....? the time and money you save now, one day in the distant future, will never ever
compensate for the mega headache and legal entanglement that follow....
and the endless sleepless nights that you and yours will suffer.... when there is a legal complaint
from someone close or some jealous soul....
allow your competent lawyer team to earn their worth pls.
all the best to you and yours and your children.
the best answer is your thai wife can purchase and own real estate and the chatel.
