  1. God, this is so boring. Talk about flogging a dead horse. There is nothing "explosive" about this story. Why would Trump's subsequent (between 2006 and 2019) denial of Epstein's past be "explosive" when it was a simple lie. It's not nice to lie, Mr President, but it's a lie no more "explosive" than saying that you would end the war in Ukraine within a day of being elected.
  2. Epstein is merely a side issue for the vast majority of people in the UK (and elsewhere). Only the media have whipped this up into an irrational frenzy. The overriding issue in many countries is the dismal lack of leadership and the absence of politicians with some minimal amount of moral probity. The Epstein stuff merely illustrates the truth of those sentiments.
  3. Maybe you should thtop lithping?
  4. While so much on North American tv is utter $hite and one's only escape is to waft from channel to channel at the click of a remote, I've never hit upon the idea of executing the producers of all that garbage (which includes all the so-called Mainstream Media). Still, now you mention it....
  5. No matter how bad this stuff is, it is more about vomitous sleaze and further exposure of lies than about government as such. Nothing I've read about this sleaze begins to equal the worst crime of the Labour government of those days: Blair lying to the Commons about Weapons of Mass Destruction, a lie that directly led to the deaths of thousands.
  6. Peter Mandelson, or Mandy, as many Guardian readers call him...
  7. How many pardons and commutations did senile Joe "sign" on his last day "in office"?? I seem to recall it was well over 1500. Oh, I forgot: Joe knew nothing about them: it was the "autopen" wot dunnit.
  8. Those medieval clerics knew a thing or two about the obligations of marriage. My mate, Geoff Chaucer, has written extensively on this subject....and I believe him when he says that many of them were "hot and randy as a sparrow." Or, as Geoff put it: "As hoot he was and lecherous as a sparwe."
  9. I wonder how many of us here on AN can empathise with Trump's mini cat-naps? Confession: I am roughly his age and plead guilty to nodding off while watching BBC or CNN. Ditto, poor old Joe Biden: even when much younger than Joe I used frequently to go into a room and have to stop and wonder wtf I was doing there. And, also like Joe, I often go into the kitchen and do a 360 degree turn there until I finally realise what I'm looking for or hoping to do. But I don't care, cos I am not the "leader" of the "Free World"....
  10. Advice always comes too late, and even then it's usually ignored. Still, FWIW, next chick you look for (on Thai dating sites) , do NOT go for a woman in her 20's. DO go for a woman in her late thirties, early forties, ideally without children or at least with one only, of an advanced age (18 or better). Also, stay away from obvious implants (in the tit dept, not the mouth) and (my own favourite) stay away from any kind of tattoo. With my Thai wife, we both subscribe to a notion of love in which "I take care you, you take care me"....it's lasted and got better and better during 13 years.
  11. There are lots of fish in the ocean....
  12. Harrisfan seems to be unaware that Wordeordie appears to be from Newcastle. No one from Newcastle is gay....
  13. Not just Chinese and Iranian, but in that sermon he just delivered he quoted from Georgi Dimitrov, one of Stalin's closest allies during the 1937 purges of the party, and one of the leading (no, THE leading) European communists between 1935 and 1945. You could say that, as a top Stalinist, Dimitrov was an expert in cancel culture, which, as in Soviet days, is now the preferred way of dealing with anyone with whom you disagree.
  14. Well, whatever you can say about Trump, at least we know he is alive and capable of speaking without having a teleprompter every time he meets the press. Unlike the walking corpse who occasionally occupied the Oval Office during the last four years. Does no one think that Biden's mental condition was a scandal that was hidden by the corrupt aides around him? And the millions of "pardons" on his last day in office? You were happy with "democracy" as practised by that regime???
  15. Putin doesn't need an "asset" (what a fatuous word) to achieve his aims in his part of the world. Nato is, and has always been, a genuine threat to the Soviet Union and now Russia. He (Putin) claims that Nato is a threat to Mother Russia, in the same way that Trump claims that China is a threat to Uncle Sam.
  16. Can you imagine Greenland with a Costco and a Walmart?
  17. The contrast between China and Thailand on this particular project is enough to make one desire a commie government. But the picture of the high-speed train, which is not likely ever to be seen chugging along in LoS before 2049, indicates that Thai business leaders at least have a sense of humour.
  18. Martyrdom is a big part of the sect in Iran, all this sabre-rattling and bravado about not fearing death because God's glory awaits the martyr, etc. The problem is, to paraphrase Peter Tosh: "everybody wants to be a martyr, but no nobody wants to die." Look up their holiday Ashura, pretty bizarre rituals. Tosh: who he?
  19. Sorry to hear that....and there was I all these years thinking you were the cute chick in your avatar.
