There are so many reasons why Trump is the wrong man for the leadership of America at this time. The world is in great need of peace, harmony and someone to unify the people of this incredibly diverse planet that we occupy. Trump is doing the exact opposite with his black heart, and hate filled rhetoric, he is dividing people on a daily basis, and he's giving permission to his supporters to display hatred, division, and animosity toward both non Americans and people of color with his coded language. He is not what is needed, and he is the exact opposite of what many of us would hope for in a good, decent, noble world leader, all the qualities that Trump does not possess.
He seems to go out of his way to stress the differences that we all have, and claim a false sense of American superiority and exceptionalism. That kind of behavior and language is not only not helpful, it's destructive, it's demeaning, it's insulting and it is driving away our friends and allies, greatly diminishing America.
At the same time he is creating a huge opening for China. Without intending to do so he seems to be building up Chinese relevance, and pushing many nations towards them, while at the same time diminishing American relevance by the day. It takes a unique and stunning level of ignorance to be able to accomplish that. Trump is Xi's wet dream.

The only time I would recommend sending large sums of US$ to Thailand is if the US$ looks to be falling with respect to the Thai ฿. The yields on deposits or the market opportunities in US are far superior to what's available here. Normally it's better to transfer what you need for the short term but have the ability to transfer larger sums when emergencies require it.
That makes sense unless you're using it as a workaround for tax liability.

What does the Constitution say about democracy?
I think the best thing we could do is repeal the 17th Amendment.
I'm not a constitutional scholar so it's difficult for me to weigh in on whether or not the 17th Amendment still makes sense in this day and age, but it was the only amendment that was added after the Constitution was written. I don't think this has any bearing on the Electoral College which I think is outdated and not only useless but has tipped quite a few elections when the popular vote would have decided otherwise.

Something about this just doesn't make sense, why would a cryptocurrency buyer meet sellers in a parking lot with a bag full of cash? I guess the presumption is that he's a criminal and he didn't want any record of the transaction?
He probably could have hired some armed guards for 10,000 bought or so?

This does not represent a revolution in patient care, what this represents is a historic betrayal on the part of the Thai government against mostly younger investors who have been invested billions upon billions in the industry and in dispensaries, with an unjustifiable sense of trust, and a hope that the government would back them on this.
This is a pox on the nation.

I definitely understand the allure of quick cash, but there has to be a limit to the amount of risk that one is willing to take in order to gain it. This just seems like way too high a risk for the potential reward. I can't even imagine what he's facing at this point but it's got to be at least a decade or two in a Thai prison.
I don't know about you guys, but I don't think I'd last a month in a Thai prison.

Inflation seems like it's here to stay, it's just a fact of life, so the fee is now $1 more than it was previously, it's not going to have a particularly dramatic effect on most of our lives. As they say, it is what it is.
I think the best workaround is to have a significant amount of money transferred from your overseas account to your Thai account of your significant other, a few times a year and then just withdraw from your local account. Fewer tax implications and lower ATM fees.

I thought it was 250 already.
Any fee that targets foreigners and not Thais, is popular in Thailand.
The fee relates to overseas accounts so a Thai would pay that fee also if withdrawing from an overseas account. No need to engage in bashing, that's not what this threat is about.

If we are not going to have representative government, why not eliminate the Senate and House as well?
Just vote on everything
Well, I would make an argument that the Senate and the House are nearly useless too, certainly they're corrupt and highly unpopular.
I don't know what getting rid of the electoral college has to do with having representative government, nor what the connection is to a third party. I've always felt that the popular vote was the epitome of representative government.

You never know until you give it a try, she could be a freelancer with a big story, or she could be a real civilian. It's likely you wouldn't know that for quite some time, but there's no harm in hanging out and seeing where it goes, as long as you're not invested on any level financially or emotionally, beyond a reasonable fee, if she is a freelancer and you guys get busy. Then you know!

There's no doubt that a new party is needed and required, both the Democratic and the Republican Party are completely broken, completely corrupt, and nearly useless when it comes to improving the lives of the American people.
And while they're at it they should abolished the Electoral College. I realize I'm dreaming, the status quo will likely continue for a long time to come.

I feel no need to defend Trump against an incident that is completely unrelated to him.
And yet you did. You can help yourself, you are completely, 100% intolerant of any kind of criticism against this guy. You're simply taking a page out of the MAGA playbook. Absolutely no dissent will be tolerated on any level, don't ever question anything he does, don't ever question policy, don't ever display any form of independent thinking.

There is a lot of very high quality, whole grain, organic bread available in the US. You just have to read the labels, you just simply have to be conscious and know what to buy and what to avoid. You always want to avoid white flour and nasty oils if possible, they inflict all kinds of harm upon the body.

Maybe he supports the Denver Broncos as well. What would that have to do with it?
You're obsessed.
Whenever somebody levels any criticism at Trump you always go back to your fallback position and call them obsessed, have you ever thought that maybe you are the one who is obsessed with defending the circus clown?

I dont support him per se, as i am normally staunchly anti American (war, bullying etc) however i like trump & his way of thinking, i especially like the way he makes all you weak feeble mens heads explode on a daily basis, with everything he says or does, or allegedly does by the fake news media. Dont you ever feel embarrassed with your nonstop frothy posts? Guess its lucky your wives dont speak English, otherwise theyd realise what bores you all are
Trump is destroying the US economy one step at a time. It could be intentional. It could be diabolical. Nobody knows. He could simply be unhinged or following the dictates of a very sinister cabal.
One thing is certain. He is accomplishing very little, he will NOT bring manufacturing back to America, which is stupid over priced (I am here now and inflation is raging at 20% or higher right now), he is causing alot of pain, he is losing support, destroying businesses, and consumer confidence, he does not have a coherent plan, and he is a destructive nimwit.
Globalization made the world great, the manufacturing ecosystems within globalization and low tariffs allowed the US economy to thrive for decades, and he's never going to bring back manufacturing to the US. End of story, just a slogan. The fact that so many people are buying into his nonsense and destruction, is what is truly sad.
It is about showing what he can get away with. It’s about showing his enemies that what they support, he can tear down. It is all about displays of brute strength. He gets off on that, and in that sense, it seems not so much an autocracy but a flexocracy. Let me show you how I can flex my bicep as I use it to power my fist coming into your face.
Whats not to like about that?

Trans people should have rights, but they should not be referred to as women because they are not women. Perhaps they should be referred to as people who identify as a woman, or people who want to be a woman, or people who are sorry they weren't born as a woman, but they are not biological females, so let's just stop the nonsense already.
They already take up way too much discussion in the public arena, relative to the numbers that they represent, which are probably a tiny fraction of 1%.
PC weakens society. Period. Woke culture is weakness.

At a time when she has shown to be incapable, possessing poor judgment by revealing intimate details to the pig dictator Hun Sen, which brings into question her judgment, intellectual capacity and her ability as a leader, she is given even more responsibility?
How ridiculous can this entire thing become and how low can this administration go?

He's your elected president, and your words are sedition.
Have you forgotten your oath of allegiance?
False. Sedition is an act of treason against one's own nation not criticism of one's leader, though it may be considered such in North Korea, Russia or China. As far as I know America is still a democracy, though the goon appears to want to change all that, and his very fragile ego and his paper thin skin seems to be compelling him to go to great lengths in an attempt to silence his critics.
And my oath of allegiance is to my nation, not to a circus clown who somehow convinced enough people to vote for him, by lying and making false promises.

Gamma, darling, where’ve you been hiding for the past thousand years? Prancing around naked in your dank hovel in CM again with the air-con cranked to 15 degrees like some frosty hermit? We’ve been pining for you, sweetheart. And what’s with the single sad YouTube link in your latest post? You used to regale us with dozens of music videos combined with epic tales of washing machines, computer towers, and every other mind-numbing gadget under the sun. This is amateur hour. Can’t we at least get a Rolling Stones rant or a Tina Turner trivia dump? Poor Eric Clapton is losing sleep over your disappointing fall from babble greatness, that's what Jeff Beck always said anyway.
Funny thread. I think gamma hasn't felt quite as needed as he was in the past since lewie london took his place as the proliferator of spent verbage. Though lewie could be consider a bit of a poet.

Unappealing, unattractive, idiotic, incompetent, hateful, hurtful, abrasive, rude, blowhard, liar, cheater, thief, infantile, failure, loser, fraud, sexual abuser, incestuous, tax cheat, insurrectionist, un-American, dictator-loving dictator wannabe, out of control, sociopathic, convicted felon, toxic narcissist & brutish A-hole.
Everything about the con-man referred to as Trump is unlikeable. He's everything wrong with the human animal, all stuffed into one specimen.
Narcissistic sociopaths are most dangerous when they feel threatened. Because of their natural tendency to be paranoid, less trusting, and more easily offended, threats can be a routine occurrence for them. When they feel threatened, the narcopath will often become hostile and aggressive, lashing out and becoming abusive toward others. As an example, consider the few Republicans that have questioned the big ugly bill and the response from the goombah.

Yes. Some do absolutely, but many don't. I have no idea what the numbers look like, we can only guess, but I know a number of Thai men that are well put together and have very strong hearts and minds, so lumping the entire population in with some bad eggs is never a good idea, nor is it a particularly accurate conclusion.
Having said that I think there are some inherent factors within the culture that do stifle emotional development. Number one people are not encouraged to look within for the source of the problem nor to take responsibility, and that is a situation that can have tragic results.
Number two, there's the issue of face which often gets in the way, from my point of view it's an extreme level of personal weakness. It comes down to perhaps the single most significant weakness most Thai people have. The pathological fear of losing face. Who cares what people think of you? For those of us with high self esteem, it just does not matter. Sure, close friends and family. But strangers on the street? Who gives a rat's butt about this? It means nothing what they think, nor what they say about you. Nothing, less than zero. They count for nothing. They are just people, and people you do not know, nor will ever see again.
Face is rife with self doubt, and by subscribing to this weakness, and man or woman is made a far lesser person. I consider the practice of face to be the polar opposite of the practice of Buddhism, which teaches the need for introspection, contemplation, owning up to a problem, and taking responsibility for issues, problems and tragedies that you create in life.
As many of us know, a percentage of the Thai population live within fairly small boxes of social convention, traditions and expectations, especially on the part of the family. That is not a life that some of us choose. Those that are bold and courageous, will find a way to break past conventions, and live a fulfilling life, based on their own choices, independence, and esteem.
But, Thailand is only a couple of generations removed from being a fairly tribal culture, so silly things like saving face is very much in play these days.

Just another reason to be discreet with your good fortune. Guys go around bragging about how well they're doing about how much money they have, about how much crypto they have, and most of us just don't want to hear it, for one, and for two you are just setting yourself up as a victim.
There's a reason why they say discretion is the better part of valor. Good survival instincts are required to survive and thrive in this world especially these days were scamming seems to be on the rise, and millions of people refuse to work for a living and would rather feed upon the blood of others.

You are correct I am very anti-Trump, for a dozen very valid reasons, perhaps I possess a greater level of clarity than many.
I happen to have a very good life, I just find that Trump is a very easy target due to his nature, his terrible policies and so much more.

I have been a non smoker of Ganga for 25 years now. But, I have always believed that the war on drugs has been an absolute and abysmal failure, and fining and arresting people for possession or use of ganja is the epitome of stupidity and ignorance. Legalizing ganja for recreational use was a brilliant idea whether it was intended or not, and betraying the hopes and dreams of many who invested in the industry is a horrific and incredibly ignorant thing to do at this time.
