  1. "I heard it in a bar". The epicenter of 'think they know-it-all' expat dribble.

There are lots of places selling sex toys openly, but due to social taboo mainly on the Internet.

Instead of listening to bar beer expats, have you heard of Google? If you have, then go to Google. Just underneath the search, there is a choice of:

    ค้นหา: () เว็บ () หน้าที่เป็นภาษาไทย () เว็บจากประเทศไทย

Click on the middle one, as this is the mode for searching Thai sites. Then, type in 'Sex Toy'. All the sites for purchasing sex toys will then come up, and there are a lot of them. If you dont want to buy over the Net, then on the sites are phone numbers and addresses of the vendors/shops.

  2. My biggest fantasy is being drunk on walking street and having some bald sweaty chubby guy, dressed in a tight black uniform jump on my back and shout, 'Do Not Resist Me'.

Each to their own waza mate! :)

Crikes Waka, maybe your dream will come if you post on the the gay and lesbian or teachers forum instead. :D

  3. Garden is a wind-up.

He claims he is Thai, well if he is Thai he will know that some Thai language weboards/forums are much more open to discussing sensitive topics than English language ones. Plenty of sites to discuss sensitive matter. Example websites

  4. like a college student or real estate agent. . . Or is Bangkok a much more positive place for a young farang to look for his match?

Forget taking one home, make it a short-time one month better.

It's easy to score a college girl for the month so long as pay out a bit of cash, they aren't even as half as saintly as what most of these posters are making out. Make contacts through facebook, Hi5, or even direct dating sites. Straight forward to score with a normal Thai girl, just but her a mobile that'll be enough. To make successful scoring even easier, just tell her that youlll be in Thailand for a year not a month, and that youll send her money to pay for her apartment every month once you get home.

Another good place to meet college girls are the bars near the university, nearly every university in Thailand has lots of bars nearby. Buy a few drinks and youll be scoring in no time.

  5. I was just chatting with a friend who lives in Patong who has a few Kathu Station police friends. According to a cop friend of his who is on duty today, JJ has just been talking with the police. Supposedly JJ has stated that the incident was not real and that he was only paid for acting. ie... it was a set-up. Can anyone else in Patong station area verify this?

  6. Are you kidding? How many women are victim of domestic or sexual abuse everyday. And you talk about men and equality?

    <deleted>!

Sorry, but im getting tired of all this pro-women justice stuff going around. I dont know about you but when i go to Pattaya, just how many women do i see throwing a tantrum with some guy and try to beat him up or smash a bottle over his head. Just how many of this kind of woman also beat up their husbands and boyfriends (I know plenty of men who have been the victim of domestic abuse and no-one gives a shit).

According a survey done (by ABAC?) i read in the Bangkok Post a year or so ago, physical abuse commited by Thai women against their spouse is on a par with that of men against women.

If you see man slapping a woman in public, what do you think?

If you see woman slapping a man in public, what do you think?

Hit it a woman and youll be arrested, probably imprisoned and ordered to pay damages. But if you get punched by a woman, the police will tell you, you deserved it. Where is the justice in that? Thai woman already already have chunk of the law. Another example: a woman flashes her thigh at a traffic police officer and gets waved on by while men get stopped and have to pay a 200baht bribe.

Sometimes i wish i was born a woman.

  7. I asked the Ambassador to Thailand, Mr. Quinton Quale, if our Prime Minister, Khun Thaksin was "banned" from England, and replied "absolutely not".

........ there is an answer for you. Especially those trying to scare British people into believing he wants to run them out.

Second, as was mentioned before, for those of you who may not have known, our Prime Minister is and was (counting his money that is being illegally held) one of the richest businessmen in the world, self made. It doesn't take much indepth investigating to find out who the rhumor mongering, false charge making, absolutely jealous, cracking with envy rival politicians who actually started this mess are.

Our Prime Minister has enough money to last 5 lifetimes and doesn't need to be corrupt. As it has been said before, it will all come out in the wash.

Perhaps Hearditallbefore accepted this job offer that was advertised recently in Nigeria:

Our client, originating from South-East Asia, is currently looking for 5 part-time Internet Forum Writers to contribute factual news to one of the region’s largest community forum websites.

Responsibilities include: searching the Internet database to gather as much propaganda as possible about our client, posting this information on news forums and reporting back all negative feedback for future analysis.

Credentials include a good knowledge of written English and a desire to spread moral well-being.

Benefits of the job include working from home, US500 dollars a month and an attractive bonus once our client returns home.

  8. Oh no.... yet another farang criminal apologist who continues to make excuses for a couple of cry-baby thieves. It's usually only criminals themselves who feel pity for other criminals.

You wouldn't be taking this point of view if it happened randomly to you. The judgement is made and it states there was no case to answer. The evidence from the tapes PROVES absolutely nothing, and the only evidence afterwards is completely anecdotal.

If the procedure had been that they had been taken to the cop shop, let out on bail, tried and found guilty or not guilty I certainly wouldn't have an issue with it. Squirreling people away in hotels and telling them they can pay their way out of it is extortion and a complete abuse of the system.

Corruption like this exists because of secrecy and these foreigners have called the system's bluff. The issue in my eyes is not that the people may or may not have something, it is that there is a slick organised system allowing police officers to subvert the system for significant personal gain and there appears to be absolutely no reaction from the authorities.

called their bluff? What by paying them loads of money, waiting until they got back to the UK and then crying to a newspaper.

This discussions been done to death, however hopefully all parties will get their commuppance, The police involved, the couple who stole (who's gonna hire these people with videos of them stealing all over the internet) and kingpower if they have any involvement.

Read the thread Benjie. Don't over-react before you post.

The video does not show them stealing.

They did not cry to a newspaper

Both a foreign minister and the Thai ambassador in London have been involved.

A Thai court could not hear the case or convict because of the police statement saying they were innocent and other written evidence including a bank transfer. You need to read the whole thread and maybe that posted elsewhere on the internet.

One good thing has come out of this though. Because everyone now wants to convict on the basis of video evidence, some people have been hoist by their own petard. Perhaps there was a video taken of some construction workers building some retail outlets where toilets were planned to be built.

    :D:D

Ha.... "The video does not show them stealing" what a jerk of a comment :) Nah... just shows the thief stuffing a 100 quid wallet in her handbag and darting out.

"They did not cry to a newspaper" what another jerk of a comment :D Nah... they just went banging on the door at The Times.... boo hoo - "Do you want this story, i know it's a bit boring but with your paparazi journos you should be a able to spice it up ten fold - by the way... how much you gonna give me for this story, that Ozzie bar matt thief got 5,000 dollars for hers".

  9. Did anyone see the CCTV footage of the couple stealing? Its up on King Powers website, along with 2 other stealing incidents.

Here is a direct link to the British couple - British Couple Stealing Footage

You can also visit King Powers' homepage - King Power Homepage

    :)

What! How could we NOT have seen this.

KP 'agents' have been periodically bringing this to our attention for quite some time.

One problem is this doesn't prove anything, horribly bad footage and inconclusive.

And it is re-accusing people found NOT GUILTY by the Thai authorities,

YET KP IS TRYING TO ACCUSE THEM AGAIN IN THE COURT OF WORLD OPINION..

    Ever hear of Double Jeopardy?

Face saving is better served by STOPPING the SCAMS.

Maybe then business might start coming back... might.

The pud is already will in the wringer now, hard to stop the winding up now.

    :D

Oh no.... yet another farang criminal apologist who continues to make excuses for a couple of cry-baby thieves. It's usually only criminals themselves who feel pity for other criminals.

  10. Two Thai police officers have given evidence in a Bangkok court against an Australian man who attempted to smuggle more than three kilograms of heroin into Australia last year.

Andrew Hood, 37, a former storeman from the Sydney suburb of Annandale, was arrested at Bangkok airport in December.

Hood was arrested by customs officials as he made his way to the departure lounge.

In court today, photos were produced showing bags of heroin taped to his body.

Reports say the heroin had an estimated street value of 12 million baht ($480,000).

In an earlier hearing in May, Hood, fearing the death penalty, pleaded guilty to the charges.

But he is unlikely to be given the death penalty.

He told the court in May there was "no way I'm fighting this one. You can't win. I've been informed by plenty of people."

A verdict is expected on August 5.

    http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/07/13/2624735.htm

The guy is innocent - the victim here is all part of the police airport extortion scam.

Hood had nothing on him when he was going through customs, all those photos used as evidence were not him. They are all a photo-shop job, same goes for the recorded tv pictures, they are fake.

The police mistook Andrew Hook for another Andrew J Hood who had been staying at five-star accommodation in Bangkok and bragging of recently inheriting his father's small fortune.

Receiving a tip-off to the wealth of Andrew J Hood the police arrested the wrong Andrew Hood and handed him over to a Sri Lankan 'Tony'. Tony advised Hood that he has the 13rd person this week to be arrested for smuggling drugs via the airport but for 3.5 million baht he would be let off scot-free. Unfortunately, this Andrew Hood doesn't have a dollar to his name and the police could do nothing but send him over the courts with the fabricated evidence.

According to reports, this police drugs airport extortion scam preys on an average of 60 innocent foregners a month.

Petition your local OZ MP now - Andrew is an innocent victim.

  11. In the case of shoplifting after the sun goes down ----

    Criminal Code Section 334:

Any person intentionally taking away (commiting theft) shall be imprisoned not more than 3 years

    Criminal Code Section 335:

Any person intentionally taking away (commiting theft) at night shall be imprisoned between one and seven years

  12. Depending on the management, branches of 7-11 etc.... fine the shoplifter 100 times. If the thief refuses to pay, then he'll be handed over to the cops.

Average sentence for petty theft? 6 month suspended to 18 months behind bars; depends on the value of the produce, location of attempted theft and character of the thief etc...

  13. Without a doubt: Patong Beach.

If you never heard of it, it is on Phuket Island. Patong may not be the quietest beach in Thailand but it is surely one of the most beautiful: clean white powdery sand and crystal clear blue waters.

Fun actvities too. We always go jet-ski-ing and the rental guys are really friendly (even when you damage it a bit). Ever-smiling massage girls, big-boobed tanned ladyboys and the odd timeshare guy. As for the latter, just take a quick survey of his and land yourselves 3 nights free accommodation at a brand-new five-star resort just opened.

Patong Beach is conveniently located too. From there, there are innumerable tuk-tuk taxi drivers who will you drive you around the island or to other beaches.

While strolling along Patong Beach dont forget to take the opportunity offered to you by one of the Indian tailor touts - he's not lying to you when he says that many of his regular clients include: George W Bush, David Beckham and Prince William.

  14. Need I remind everybody that there is no required age for prostitution in Thailand because it is illegal. :)

AFAIK the age of consent is 18 years in Thailand and an eighteen year old can theoretically be charged with statuatory rape for having sex with a seventeen year old, even if both parties consented to the act.

The prison sentence for rape in Thailand is 50 years, cut to 25 years if you plead guilty.

Wrong. The age of consent in Thailand is 15.

According to my police sources and the Criminal Code again you are wrong, no such thing as statutory rape for 15-17. Statutory rape in Thailand is under 13. If the victim 13-14 does not consent to the sex, then that is considered 'rape' (quite obvious!). If she, 13-14, consents to the sex, the pair can be married and the man is let off scot-free if the age between the man and girl is not too frighteningly different.

Theoretically, the guy here did not break the law. She willingly followed him into to his place (Illegal if he takes her a longish way away from her home for a longer period of time, not one night! And her parents object and inform the police before the girl returns home, not after!).

Should the 15-17 willingly go along and is not coaxed into going with the offering of cash or presents of any kind, then that all right. Again, if the parents don't object, he is on the right side of the law. In the OP case, the parents had no idea, so no problems.

However, any woman (theoretically, man can do too these days) of any age can attempt to file charges of rape/abuse in the confines of say a room the man has taken her too. This is where blackmail comes into it and the police can only help the over-age guy by advising to 'compensate' the victim.

A very old law, still applies, stipulates that a previous virgin female can order compensation from the man if the man doesn't marry her. Here is where the law can be bent, thus theoretically legalizing prostitution.

Blackmailing like this is quite irrelevant to whether the woman is 16 or 19. Only at 16, the charges for rape are tougher of course.

Blackmailing is impossible however, if the man follows the woman and not vice-versa. Example, the woman takes the man to a hotel name registered in her name. The woman has no right to claim any compensation (or cash) the next morning. Here, the law here sides with the man ie... if the woman takes a man to her room 'she's is asking for it'.

If the girl is 15-17, it is the opposite. He has forced his way into her abode, the sex here is not considered consensual.

According to my sources too, if the man does not know the real age of the girl and is duped into coercing with a 15-17 y-old he is not breaking any kind of the law and the parnets have no reason at all to bicker. If for example, he met her in a disco, he can simply say that he believed she was over 20, as that is the minimum age limit to get into such a place - such as the OP.

By the way, since 2007, the age of consensual sex etc... now applies to both female and male - same as the laws on rape etc..

  15. Yes, In his statement the Sri Lankan said the couple were extorted.

I have not seen a statement where the Sri Lankan claims the couple were extorted.

We have seen a poor quality video in which a couple probably stole a wallet. Anyone who claims to be able to positively identify the couple from that video is a liar. If I showed a video of an Asian/Farang couple taken from that angle and such poor quality,

Andrew Drummond claims to have seen other video footage and says it is the same couple

A selective and old quote. Andrew has spoken to the Ingrams who have denied the video shows any guilt. If you are going to quote read the entire Drummond site first. The facts show 1. extortion 2. an admission by the police that they are innocent.

I've searched that through Drumond's site. How the fuc_k do you know "Andrew's spoken to the Ingrams who have denied the video shows any guilt"? Are you a work colleague or drinking mate of his? You seem to know a lot about the man and your style of writing is right down his alleyway.

I have read the entire Drummond site and have found No admission by the police that they are innocent. A Sri Lankan translator in books does not count as Thai Police.

This couple are as guilty as fuc_k and as written before they are bloody lucky they aren't rotting in a 10x10 cell in Samut Prakarn Central with a hundred ball-scratching room mates.

Bribing their way out of the justice system makes them them as corrupt as the hands they buttered.

  16. Ok, King Power have done the gentlemanly thing and replied to (and silenced) many of their challengers, so isn't it about time that The Times newspaper who originally came up with the 'scam' 'planting of goods' and 'arrest of innocents' story also reply?

I doubt it, as that was a typical crap piece of one-sided British journalism. The journalist who wrote that spiced up report can thank his lucky stars if Kings Power don't sue for libel.

Dr Norris in the above story is probably as guilty as OJ Simpson. Claiming innocence is the only way to save face.

  17. I just called a friend of mine, a regular at the FCCT; he said that the FCCT made and sold/distributed the vids of Jakhrapob' speech before he was charged with lese-majeste.

So, how the hel_l can FCCT be charged?

Plus above should take notice instead of living in never-ever land. He probably hasn't a clue what Jakrapob said - if he had he wouldn't be writing these comments. Academics have been saying what Jakrapob said for donkeys years and never been charged with LM. It's just because Jakrapob was a friend of Thaksin's.

The last time i checked the speech of the video on YouTube wasn't even blocked!

Neither was Da Torpedo's really shocking speech! (unlike Jakrapob's)

The yellow-shirted ASTV/PAD are helping to destry the country's highest institution, not protect.

  18. Interview with the idiot tuk-tuk mafia boss trying to justify fixed 400 baht rides for the 8km ride from Patong to Karon. Not as bad as his predecesor who once boasted that even the head of Phuket police couldn't touch him.

Deserves an email of complaint to the TAT / Ministry of Tourism <[email protected]>,

    Here's the interview with link

Pathumwan. com interview with tuk-tuk mafia boss

Phuket Tuk-tuk Mafia Boss Asks "Aren't you afraid of me?"

''SO YOU want to talk to me?'' the deep voice on the other end of the telephone said. ''Aren't you afraid of me? I am the tuk-tuk Mafia.''

Some conversations get off to a bad start. So we made our way to the headquarters of the Karon Tuk-tuk Association with some trepidation.

What would the Mafia chief be like? Would he be surrounded by a gang of black shirts, polishing their guns, ready for the next professional ''hit''?

Would they be sharing a pizza, and talking about disposing of rival mafioso?

Actually, Porntep Chamkawn had on a bright check shirt and he even smiled quite a few times as we talked.

He has a masters degree in political science and has been president of the KT for a year, trying to introduce some changes.

Mafia? We figure he was joking. Not many media people call asking for an interview.

As it turned out, we learned a lot. Minivans, buses, taxis and other forms of tourist transport are all part of the association's 511 vehicles.

''Only local people in the Karon area can become members,'' Khun Porntep told Phuketwan. ''We have a history going back before there was even a road between Karon and Patong.''

The KT runs services at Karon, Kata and Kata Noi, and some changes are already evident under Khun Porntep's leadership.

Yellow KT signs and yellow paint on the roadway now mark 54 spots where tuk-tuks and other members can park. People who want tuk-tuks have to go to those signs to find transport.

Tuk-tuk drivers from other parts of Phuket are not permitted to make pickups in the Karon district, Khun Porntep said, and that can at times lead to harsh words with outside tuk-tuk drivers.

If a driver happens to offend not once, but twice, then three times, Khun Porntep said: ''Please don't ask what happens next.''

Fiercely protective of the local community, Khun Porntep said that fares for passengers were consistent with the high cost of tuk-tuk vehicles.

''Even an old tuk-tuk will cost 70,000 baht and a new one will carry a price tag of 1.2 million baht,'' he said. ''They have to be imported from Japan.''

A driver needs to have cash to pay for one, he said.

Khun Porntep said the tuk-tuk drivers used to see the big Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort as less than friendly towards tuk-tuks.

But after talking to the owner, Maitree Narukatpichai, Khun Porntep's view had changed.

Resorts had agreed on the new parking system, and resorts in the area can now call in tuk-tuks or other, larger vehicles as required, from the designated parking bays.

Politeness courses are now planned for KT members, along with more emphasis on service and the safety of passengers.

Times are tough for tuk-tuks, which means more time for planning . . . and for down-time football matches at Karon sports stadium.

''We want people to be satisfied with our service,'' Khun Porntep said. ''If someone leaves something behind in a tuk-tuk, they can be sure they will get it back.''

The new ideas now being introduced in Karon won't necessarily be seen in other parts of the island, he added.

''We are trying to get our area working well, but we cannot speak for others.

''I am not the Mafia, but I am trying to help the local community make sure there are jobs for the next generation.

''People say unkind things about tuk-tuk drivers. I have to say we welcome complaints because we need to improve.

    http://phuketwan.com/tourism/phuket-tuk-tu...t-afraid-11283/

''Please let me know if there are incidents that make tourists unhappy.''

He would like to fix fares, but that was no easy task. The price to Patong from Karon should be around 400 baht, depending on the precise pickup and destination.

He does not believe meters are an answer, but the whole issue of fares will eventually be thoroughly examined.

''We have it on our list of things to do,'' he said. ''Parking is now sorted, and we have a system going that works for drivers and resorts.''

People often complain about tuk-tuk drivers, but Khun Porntep said Phuket's tourists these days were not necessarily top-shelf, either.

''I have often taken a fare to Patong then had them flee without paying, or paying less than the right fare, in Soi Bangla,'' he said.

    ''That's hardly fair.''

  19. I think it's unfair to just copy and paste someone's story without even linking to it, let alone not even mentioning his name. Stephen Cleary at thai-blogs, he's translated quite a few weird but interesting stories from the Thai press.

    Original:

    Lucky Man Marries Thai Twins

Ironic in that the mods here disallow you to promote blogs (that arent thaivisa ones) but allow you copy and paste blogs from outside websites with no backlink. Guess they never heard about copyright.

I'll second that too right. Talk about double standards.

  20. Andrew Drummond also writes for the Times and the Evening Standard and many other British papers reported the story in the same way Andrew did so I think it's you who should hold your horses Jacobbells :o

What? Reported the same story in the same way; of course they would; it's only Drummond's story they got. Writes up a single yarn and sends it to every paper that's gullible to eat it.

For more Andrew Drummond exclusives, see his 'investigative" "undercover" reports on Gary Glitter in Pattaya, Sarah Ferguson getting her tits out on a private Phuket yacht and murdered Italian mafia who have their head sawn off (put in a bag) and left to dangle from Rama VIII Bridge.
