  3. It sounds very likely that you may have an intermtent fault with an electronic relay on the circuit board of the chlorinator. Ie the one that controls the pump switcing. Without a circuit diagram of the board in the chlorinator and info on the control panel, its all pretty much down to drawing assumptions.
  4. Being a suuffer rom asthma, you really need to see a doctor, to get the right dose,
  5. I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times this year they do have trained life guards on the beach . There are plenty of notices advising people not to swim when the red flags are flying. Also plenty of information in the guest rooms about the dangers
  6. The sand cleaners as sold in the west are not really suitable for sand available here unless it is a sand high in silicate, then maybe it is worth a go, but with the cost of glass media here it is not worth it. Change it
  7. Sansai animal hospital also ask for a real time pcr test as this will indicate how serious or not the problem is.
  8. As previously stated maintainance manegment companies have absolutly no idea about balanced water, It would seem to me that as labour is cheap here compared with the west a regout solves everything .Our 12x 25 m pool in our moobaan has similar problems lasted for 15 years then a regrout now it is part of the budget cycle cost 88k

  14. A bit of a pointless question ! this is a forum for swimming pools,
  15. A good advertorial explains this well. There is no chemistry involved just UV destroying the DNA string of bacteria and chlorine by products . https://www.spectralightuv.com/uv-pool-results
  16. A fullblown water softener is the only way a filter will only filter out the big bits
  17. Sorry to the original op for digressing. Forum member Bagwain has vast experiance in this field and should be able to point you in the right direct , best advice is to pm him as he wont be able to tell the real truth due to defamation laws here. Good luck with your quest.
  18. You are absolutly spot on must always keep a minimum of .5ppm of free chlorine in the pool ,to prevent any cross contamination. Another good tip is to clean the quartz glass sleeve once every 3 months or so if the pool has a lot of bathers, as body fats etc get baked on to the lamp sleeve, thus reducing the transmisity of the uv light most of the figures given in the blurb assumes a transmiity of 95_ 98 %. Which is difficult to achieve if the tube gets dirty. UV a fantastic bit of kit dangerous definatly not, exspensive that is all down to a matter of choice. As a side note chrystal clear water isa must. Good luck with your choice I am sure it will work for you.
  19. See page 7 of this forum, i cannot get the links to open maybe if you contact forum admin they may get them to work ,its under the subject heading of scientific papers. Good luck if you can get them to work. I really cant be bothered to try.

  22. Not really low levels of cynuric around 30 ppm and not above 50 are really a good and effective way of making the hypochlorus acid more effective in killing bacteria algea Unfortunatly the most sold chlorine here contains cynuric acid, this is mainly down to some unscrupulus pool companis pushing the sale of this product with absoluty know idea who what and why they are selling it ,just keep up the sales numbers There has inyears Been abig dillution of the pool industry in terms of skills and knowledge it all began years ago during the first big world reccesion with landscape gardeners getting in on the act seeing it was an easy buck Then the builders got in on the act for the same reason with no idea of pool hydraulics or chemicals Just buying packages from equally suspect suppliers just to turn the numbers over inshort the whole industry became a mess world wide , car salesmen selling hotubs etc the industry was really destroyed and just became a game of numbers, There is a wll known company on the gold coast in oz that will sell just about any one a franchise. In the UK there is a company tha will put people on the road after a months training. In America they advocate high level of chlorine in case little johnny gets a rash in his neigbours pool. If you want to swim in a relitavly Low chlori e pool Austria is the place to go Below .5 ppm free chlorine. I have attended a few international conferences on pool water treatment a nd the c oncensus amongs delegates is about the same as i have said If you are having Maintenace done choose wisly the knowledge is here on this forum just ask if you dont want to get to embroiled in a disscussion please pm me
