Protests Threaten Return of Yingluck Shinawatra to Thailand

Of course there are many reasons and the matter is complicated.I identified a major issue because this is not an academic forum and not given to complexity and nuance. -

Sorry.I should have said Kevin Hewison who is interesting on the subject.Furthermore it is really the academic Duncan McCargo who is probably the real authority on network monarchy. No link to offer - but easy enough to research online. -
Protests Threaten Return of Yingluck Shinawatra to Thailand

Lots of middle class Thais - often Sino Thai - in Bangkok thought that way. Most sensible ones subsequently regretted the way Thaksin was ejected recognizing that it would have been better for him to have defeated constitutionally. Why? Because Thailand lost a decade and remains stuck in the middle income trap. However the Thai supporters of the coup were deceived. It was not because of Thaksin's corruption (which was real) but because he threatened the interests of the elite.Paul Hewison has written eloquently and convincingly about the Network Monarchy. But please feel free to linger in your memories of happy party time. -

Did you call for the traitors who launched the illegal military coup to go to jail? Actually in many jurisdictions they would have been court martialled and sentenced to long imprisonment, or worse. That's what they call justice. -
It is usually a terrible idea to reference Wikipedia as a source. In Douglas Murray's case it definitely is because he is "controversial." It's not a political bias on my part because Murray is on the right.I would be equally sceptical about Wiki pieces on controversial left wingers like Jeremy Corbyn.

Further to my previous post I see that a grass roots Labour Party pressure group has stated: “In the face of the systematic grooming and rape of young girls by mostly Pakistani men across English towns, progressives denied, obfuscated, equivocated, averted their eyes, changed the subject. Anything but look the dark side of multiculturalism squarely in the eye. “Those who extol the benefits of immigration and multiculturalism most loudly seem to have little interest in what their policies have meant for towns across England. In liberal society, it is seen as impolite to talk about such things. This squeamishness is moral cowardice. “We hope the attention on the most awful scandal in modern British history leads to justice for the victims. A national inquiry would be a start, but what is really needed is tougher sentencing, an end to political correctness and a total reset of our immigration policy.” I

As far as this scandal is concerned, the whole point of some people people, whether at a conscious or unconscious level, is to shift attention to a blowhard like Robinson or - obviously on a completely different level - an eccentric genius like Elon Musk.Anything repeat anything not to focus on the scandal you detail.
-
And so it goes on, the instant attempt at deflection. These people will always try to find a way to avoid the issue, namely industrial scale abuse and rape mainly by people of Pakistani ethnicity. The deniers tend to be insignificant and intellectually under powered, and one need not pay too much attention to them. One must be less forgiving of cowardly politicians, while recognizing the bravery of a few.So the issue festers and poisons British politics allowing (in my view) an ugly right wing movement to have a chance of power.
-
The issue is raping gangs not Tommy Robinson. It has become normal for the usual suspects to seize on Robinson's many shortcomings to deflect from the mass sexual abuse of girls on an industrial scale by a particular ethnicity in Northern and Midlands towns. The Jay Report of 2022 made a number of recommendations which have not been properly implemented by either the Tories or Labour. As for Robinson he was indeed one of the earliest to warn of the scandal but he is however a deeply flawed individual, and his present prison sentence is nothing to do with whistle blowing. For those that are interested Douglas Murray sums up and gives context. The usual suspects will however just stick their fingers in their ears and label Murray as an extremist.

I doubt whether many people take this conspiracy rubbish seriously or the dimwits that promote it.However for those that may not be aware of the psycho Mark Crispin Miller, a brief scan of his Wikipedia article will demonstrate his lunacy.Among other things he considers the appalling Sandy Hook gunning down of children to have been a fake.

My debit card expiry with Krungsri falls due in a couple of months. When withdrawing some cash at an ATM I received notice of this suggesting the card should be renewed at any branch.Normally new cards are sent to my residential address.I wondered whether personal pick up represents a new security measure.

Even Bt 13,800 seems on the high side. However having obtained the TIN, subsequent annual filings should be cheaper - say Bt 7000. In your position (and actually it reflects my own) I would probably pay an accountant to obtain my TIN and process the first filing and thereafter do it myself with the first filing as a guide.

Looming Crisis: Private Schools Face Closures Amid VAT Hike
jayboy replied to Social Media's topic in World News
We may not know precisely but it's already clear the receipts -never that significant in the scheme of things - will be much less than the figures bandied around. It was never the prime motive anyway,Meanwhile the dullard Education Secretary is intent on rolling back the reforms which have seen English state schools shoot up the global league tables over the past 15 years. -

Ending charitable status was on the Labour agenda but was dropped - too difficult and in breach of law. Also politically toxic. Labour's ideal would be to smash the famous schools but these are too financially robust. Therefore they are concentrating on the smaller provincial schools where they can inflict most stress and pain. Yes parents with children in the independent system tend to be better off than average. Not sure of your point. You have become confused on the tax aspect. There is no loophole because education has never been taxed. It is the parents of independent school children who are providing the subsidy, by paying for a state education they do not utilise. In some countries the state reimburses parents for this very reason. -

Wrong. It's a spiteful immoral policy which fails to achieve its very modest financial objectives. It's not clear at all (You provided a tainted source as your proof) but in any case that's not the issue. For most people, except leftist zealots, one of the purposes of life is to struggle to obtain a better future for their children. That's why rich middle class parents tend to buy houses in excellent state schools' catchment areas. What else do you want to ban to ensure equality for all - parental attention, reading habits, domestic stability, overseas holidays, extra tuition, excellent genes etc etc? All the things that give middle class children advantages in life? Here's an idea.Instead of spiteful attacks on excellent independent schools, how about encouraging co-operation between the two sectors and above all improving state schools.
