  1. These guys have gutted the tourist industry and the middle class Thai people in the process.
  2. I would bet 99% of the ones flying off the Golden Gate Bridge were locals? Or citizens of the US. In Thailand it is tourists and expats mostly. A huge difference IMO.
  3. Omicron spiked threw the roof now it is dropping like a rock in the US.
  4. I studied about a year before i came to Thailand. I had been there for about a year when this happened. I understood enough to know what was being said. Kinda curious about you. You sound like you don't believe this is a serious problem in Thailand? Do you condone this? Whether you believe me or not i don't really care. But, it sounds like you are trying to say Thailand does not have a serious problem, and you are trying to make it sound like it is not a problem? Are you involved in this?
  5. I speak a little Thai Sitting next to them, I heard the daughter telling the mother about the last guy she got for her. The daughter was telling her mom all about it, the mom looked hard as a rock. Also heard her talking about the money of several guys she had been with. Very very strange listening to this.. The young girl was trying to get the approval of the mother IMO, very sad actually. Thailand is the worst country I have ever visited where it is in your face.
  6. About 15 years ago I was on a bus in Issan. Mom and daughter were decked out. Cloths , nails the works. I was sitting next to them. Her mom was her pimp. At the time I was new to Thailand and could not believe it.. While living in Chiang May, I was in an apartment and was asked if I wanted a young girl or boy! Sickening. It is all over Thailand.
  7. Don't know if this is allowed , but here is a guy that was diagnosed with Covid with no symptoms.
  8. Yes, I just saw a youtube guy that was taken to the hospital with no symptoms at all. He was pretty upset and not a happy camper.
  9. "A – Accelerate Demand: The model seeks to stimulate qualitative demand, build trust, and a good image by placing focus on tourists’ safety, targeting high-income segments, and delivering impressively different and valuable experiences;" What does the bold text mean?
  10. I have been traveling with no, to very minor inconvenience. Planes were packed and new jets were being added to the fleets. Reading headlines like this is so strange. But, reading the rules to enter Thailand as a tourist is even stranger.
  11. It's like this in all third world countries. That is why the family unit is so tight. Born, live together until death basically. If not living together then the family is sending money monthly to support them. Mexico, South America all the same. It has taught me to be more frugal and appreciate what I have from a rich country and try to not judge others.
  12. Yeah, Thailand is ridiculous. I just returned from 6 months in South America. And a short hop to the Mexican Yucatan. Trouble free and all flights were full. Before I left I was not sure about going, now I am not sure I want to come back to Thailand. hummm If not for the many years of living there and friends that I want to see. I honestly don't think I would go back even if the rules were completely done away with. Actually I have the powers in charge of Thailand to thank for my other travels. I love the Yucatan, clean air and beautiful beaches and safe as Thailand IMO. Also love Colombia, Although more dangerous. But, reminds me of Thailand many years ago. Pristine forests and absolutely mind blowing scenery.
  13. Thailand's new slogan has gone from "Land of Smiles" to , "A Fool and His Money"
  14. I bet the ones the ones that do come will have a field day. Basically a buyers market.
  15. It should be, but I had a horrible time with it. I think I got two that way, and only with begging. (and I am not kidding) the last time I had to fly back to Chinag Mai where I got my Extension of stay to get it sorted out. That was 3 years ago. I used BKK as a hub to fly out of with a retirement visa and it worked Ok. But, still a hassle. I won't be doing it again.
  16. As long as you don't have to put up 800K in the bank. To stay then good. I was there and on a retirement visa, and liked to travel. A total nightmare. And that is being kind. Thailand was the worst place I have ever traveled to if you enjoy traveling. I was in the south traveling and my 90 day report came up. Had to fly back to Chinag May to get it sorted out. The immigration in several cities would not do my 90 day. What a total clown show. I got my last retirement visa there and left a month later. Not worth the hassle if traveling. If occasionally traveling or sitting on your stoop in one spot then I see no problems. Retirement visa and 90 day for you guys would be something to look forward to.
  17. So, CCP were using Covid-19 as a test run.
  18. China won that war years ago. No contest IMHO.
  19. Luckily there are other places to go. Many countries are cashing in. Thailand has lost it's appeal to me. The horrible pollution, Senseless Thai bureaucracy, Just an endless quagmire of nonsence.
  20. Looks like the Philippines are opening also.. Looks like that is where my first Asian hop will be. Thailand is still playing games.
  21. Just came back to the US a few days ago. Was in South America and Mexico for 6 months. There everyone wore masks and hand sanitizer was in every store. Very clean and sanitary. Today went to Home Depot in San Antonio , no hand sanitizer , about half were not wearing masks. It was a covid outbreak waiting to happen. I felt much safer in South America. No wonder the idiots here are getting sic.
  22. New mandate, 50,000 US dollars in Sickle insurance before entering Thailand.
