Where I live at present the second phase has already began. 17000 doses to the over 65 crowd will start Monday. I missed it because I was not expecting it to be so fast. My doctor told me March, but the timeline has moved up 3 months. So hopefully I will get the first dose this month.

True, but you can hire a Thai agent and he will get the vaccine for you for 50,000 Baht.

I don't believe this guy, the WHO said Thailand was number on and patted them on the back for handling the virus.
WHO is the pentacle in health related matters.

The Chinese lie, says somebody who has a president who is a pathological liar.
At least in the US and other open countries we know when we are being lied to and can make a change. In China your rights are restricted and you are spoon fed lies from the CCP. Internet censured and spoon fed lies.
I lived in Asia for years and the Chinese that live and worked elsewhere did not want to go back!
Ignorance is bliss is the CCP trade mark.
Kinda curious how it plays out for China. I invest in China so I watch it pretty close. But, the market in China is restricted so much it is a pain... to say the least.

GOOGLE IT !!!
Okay I googled it. I read few articles on it. I cannot find anywhere where they are building space craft to be launched from Thailand. Only thing I find is their satellite space program. Recently said they are trying to design and build their own satellite. Also an article where they contracted out to have one built? A far cry from mission to the moon.
I think most countries in the world are launching their own satellites, nothing new here.
There about 15 countries that can launch their own satellites in orbit. Thailand is not on the list. Over 100 countries have satellites in orbit.
Conclusion: BS

We don't care if you are drunk or not, just go out there and spend some Baht.

I did not know Thailand had a space program?

What happens if guidelines aren't enough? Remember, despite what some on this forum think, Covid is NOT the plague, and it's not much more deadly than a bad flu year at this point.
My doctor told me the same thing, but she said it is much more contagious, Not to be taken lightly.

Well, how about starting vaccinations sooner? Even Mexico, Costa Rico and Chile started to vaccinate their people with the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine already. But in Thailand, there seems to be no pressure at all and no priority to do that. Very strange.
Could there be any better proof that an end of the crisis is not at all a top priority of the Thai government, for whatever reason? Were they told by China to wait for a Chinese vaccine maybe? Or to ruin the economy even more, to make it cheaper for Chinese investors? I mean, if even Mexico is able to get and distribute the vaccine in order to protect its people, why is Thailand not?
Was on a video call from a friend in Guadalajara yesterday, said started last week and was set for distribution 90,80,70 years olds etc after the front line workers are vaccinated. The older folks like me who have high blood pressure are the ones dying in numbers. I have another friend in Monterey and her son has the virus with very few symptoms.
I am not going anywhere until I get jabbed.

I should have my second shot of the vaccine by then. I will be off to the races and Thailand will be in lockdown..
Forward thinking of the government coming to light as usual. CCP got Thailand covered no worries.
I was dead wrong about Thailand opening up, it will be on hold threw 2021 into 2022 looks like.

I left in March, I am getting the vaccine free next month.
Over 65 put at the front of the line. In a couple of months I will be traveling again in Mexico and South America.
If SE Asia ever opens up again I will come, but bypass Thailand..

Rentals are a dime a dozen in Thailand. As soon as they get shabby move to a newer one.
And that was in the good times, I cannot imagine how it is now.
Buying a condo in Thailand if a retired westerner is a fools game.

These are just white collar crimes backed by the government. No different than say the reverse mortgage loans in the US and numerous others here in the US. Actually these pale in comparison the the scams in the US.
Thailand has learned well.

Thai's will always praise as long as they are pulling money out of your pocket.

Go to Thailand and get Covid. Yeah, sounds like a great vacation.

This nonsense is never ending.

The reason I left Thailand for good. I would not wish Thailand air on my enemy's.

Shot my doctor an e-mail at the hospital where the vaccine has been delivered.
Just responded, said I should expect it to be available to me early March...
-
Where I live the Health workers got vaccinated yesterday, Several big drug chains have the go ahead to prepare for the vaccine distribution. Expected to be available to general public by late March, early April.
I am pushing 70 so I hope I can get mine early. I have cabin fever... But, not bad enough to venture out without the vaccine.
My guess is after the vaccine is available the Thai borders will open if you have been vaccinated.

I did a border run in Mai Sot a couple years ago. When I was walking across the bridge to get my stamps on the Myanmar side I looked down and watched men with rafts taking passengers across the river . If the border patrol just went 50 meters from their air conditioned booths, they would have seen the same thing. Also on the same trip my sister in laws X husband was diving. He is the owner of a large shirt manufacturing factory in Mai Sot. He also has passenger vans that he says are for tourists. We stopped at one of the check points going back to Tak. He had a longer conversation with what looked like the big boss there. I asked my girlfriend at the time what was the problem. She told me to be quite. Later she said they were talking about the cost of children (brown envelope money)coming with their parents illegaly in his vans. So what I saw was even at the border crossing there is a constant flow of illegal entries.
Same here between Thailand and Malaysia, wide open. Common knowledge. When i was in down south with the GF she went across several times. So did anyone that wanted to go.

The Thai government's expecting to start initial vaccinations about the middle of 2021 and won't be opening the gates to full tourism until much nearer the end of the year.
I doubt that will make much difference. As other countries get vaccinated the flood gates will open.

I read a financial article the other day on Thailand. The wealthiest people in Thailand in the retail sector are getting hit hard. World rankings have dropped there ranking from the top 3 into the 20's and dropping fast. It won't be long now before the government changes it tune. In the next few months as the vaccine comes on line I bet the rules will change FAST..
Keep your money in your pocket, it won't be long now.

Looks like Thailand will be closed until 2022 pretty much. I will get my first dose this month, hopefully February I will be in Mexico or South America.
Only people that I can see going to Thailand are people with family or business.
Pretty much a write off for the next year at least.
