Haha, it gets in your blood. I am still a back packer at heart. Always will be. I just spent 6 months back packing in South America. Now my idea of backpacking is having a back pack, photo gear, laptop, 600-800 dollar / month airbnb's and flying to the next city... haha Have a good one brother... -

First few times I came to Thailand I was a backpacker. I stayed in 500 baht guest houses and ate very good. Spent about 1200-1500 / month and that was years ago. Had a great time.. Would not trade it for the guys suited up and pulling a roller bag for any amount of money. Used to see those guys heading to the hot spots , spend their whole time in one spot. Or heading out in the sticks to a wife or GF. Different life style all together. -

Most people know that Thailand is not a good place to retire. Nothing wrong with Thailand, but you would never pick it as a retirement destination. -

It is really too late, nothing that they can do now. World economy is in a shambles. And will be getting worse by the day. 45 days is a joke IMO, for me anyway. 90 days minimum, then I will think about it. And be able to extend another 90 days! -

Thai's are not stupid, This will morph into them growing high grade pot and selling it as fast as you can say. cat in a hat. If they get <deleted> at ya they will turn you in and down the toilet you will go. This is going to be crazy to watch. -

This is going to get out of hand and very fast. -
I know, but in Amsterdam it is legal. 15-25 percent THC. Really good smoke. I also agree a good thing they are letting guys out of prison. two thumbs up. Here at just .2 percent. It is a scam ready built into the system. The Thai government is already saying they think it will be a boom to the tourist industry. Thai's and others will grow the good stuff, and sell it. Only to walk around the corner and be shook down. i will wait and see how it plays out.

Thailand Considering An End to Pandemic-Era Entry Requirements
garyk replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Philippines lifted all June 1 I believe. Heading there instead of Thailand next month hopefully. If Thailand opens will be there for my 3 month tourist visa.. Inflation is running so hight here in the US I will head over to get some relief. Win win for me, dollar is strong against the Baht. Perfect for a cheap vacation. Spent 6 months in South America and the dollar was killing the Colombia Peso. , and had a killer time. -
Tourism Ministry to Delay Tourism Fee Until the End of This Year
garyk replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Piphat stated that the proposal for the cancellation of the Thailand Pass registration for international arrivals to the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) during its next meeting will attract more tourists, as they will no longer be required to purchase travel insurance or deal with complex entry procedures. This will help more than anything, Philippines dropped the insurance this month. They are loosing billions of baht until they scrap Thai Pass.
