No you do not know what you are talking about. It was legalized years ago for the hill tribes in the north. Something to do with their religion and traditions. They can grow it and use it for their tradition, but it turned into a cash cow for the police and them.

Same here, in the years in Thailand I have been to several of the small government hospitals for injuries. Dirt cheap. Head to the city and they see you and the price goes up crazy. Just a scam, no other way to see it. Problem is, most foreigners don't know any better. Most are in Pattaya , Puckett, BKK and they think it is normal. Thailand is the home of scams an rip offs. It is a business model. I was just in Colombia and it is getting the same there now. In the sticks I got food poisoning and spend the night in the hospital. Back at my condo in Cali. I went to the doctor for a check up. They saw me coming, very expensive. If a foreigner you have a dollar sign on your cheat in the big city all over the world it seems.

For many years it has been legal to grow weed and opium for the hill tribe people. The police would have a policeman in plane clothes sitting with the drug dealers and when you bought you were arrested and fined or jailed. I would not trust a Thai cop as far as I could throw one.. Birding in the hills I have seen heroin , opium , weed openly being peddled. But if a foreigner in Thailand and you bought from a dealer. Which was put in your face , you would go to jail. The dealer would be rewarded and the cops would make bucks.. You guys better be careful.

I doubt if he cares what so ever. If he encounters a trouble maker they disappear or go to jail.

Yes I had a 68 year old neighbor that decided not to get the vaccine , he said it was a trick of the government.. he died. Unless wast of life. His wife and kids really suffered.

This ranks right up there with he handling of the pandemic.

Cause tourists are not going to come anytime soon IMO.

True, am from Texas and the dirt weed we got back then I thought was good until I went to Hawaii, and smoked some of their home grown weed.

From years back I own two foreign stocks.. One is a car, and parts manufacturer and one is Walmart Mexico. Both dividend paying. Both have paid dividends without fail for years. I also own a revenue driven fund that invests in foreign stocks some. Also been paying me for years without fail. But, as of the last few years I have not bought any foreign stocks of any kind. And don't intend to.......

Poor baby, are you loosing in the market.. haha I never give advice what so ever. But, what I am doing is buying slowly as it drops. I started a few days ago. But, pretty conservative. S&P fund, and some blue chip stocks. I am a firm believer in the US stock market. I don't know enough about other countries to invest.

The Ruble is very strong right now. As long as the Ruble is strong Thailand will welcome Russia with open arms. Russian oil is very strong. I have read a few saying it will see a huge influx in investment dollars. So far the sanctions that were put in place are not working against the Ruble. Curious to see the outcome. Also America is heading into a rescission, stocks are tanking and trillions are being lost. Personally if living in that part of the world I would be putting together an exit strategy.

He said his elected government has been given the chance to pursue that national strategy. I think that clears thing's up...

It really does not matter what they do at this point. I mean they could open completely and no one would come. The world is slipping into a recession. They have made every blunder you could possibly imagine for a country reliant on tourism. Anyone still traveling with any brains will bypass Thailand. It is a no brainer at this point.
