I brought several thousand dollars in Amex travelers checks to deposit in Bangkok Bank. BB want 30 baht per check service fee plus a not great exchange rate. They were nice enough to tell me to go to a nearby AMEX office where there is no service charge and a better exchange rate.

I find cholchicine twice a day to be great! Your stomach will get used to it after a while. allopurinol causes me severe hive reaction. The beauty with cholchicine is you can up the does if you feel something coming on and it is inexpensive

I an thinking of purchasing a medium size washing machine for my apt. I have looked at Big C, Carrefour and Lotus. I think I would purchase a Japanese brand such as Panasonic in the 6 -12 thousand baht range. They are a bit different that ones we use in USA so I am at a bit of a loss on things I should consider.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks

I deposited several thousand dollars in travelers checks with no problem, no hold back. The BoB wanted to charge 33 baht per travelers check, but they did tell me I could go down the street to the AMEX office and do with no commision and a better exchange rate.

I have a retirement Visa and started an account at Bangkok bank. I was suprised to learn they would not let me have the internet banking option. They said I could not have with a retirement Visa, a work permit is required.
Is this a goverment rule, bank rule and is there a way around? It severly limits my ability to transfer funds.
Thanks

I am looking for a recommendation for a good English school as well as Japanese school. The potential student is a recent Ram grad whe can speak english fairly well but would like to sharpen her skills for job hunting.
I am aware of "British Council" at Siam square but was wondering if there were other quality schools. I have no idea about Japanese language schools.
