Good reason you are on ignore.

I can guarantee that example flight from Saigon to Bangkok WILL require an onward flight if flying without visa or reentry permit..

Obviously not on ignore or how did you reply?

Standard response from DrJack, always pay for onward flight, always carry 20,000 baht, always use agent for 12 month extensions as we are obviously too stupid to be able to do it ourself

I know 3 guys that have made at least 5 or 6 entries this year the same way, no questions.

Yeah the so called automatic red flag for airport arrivals is a myth. I've spent 8 months in Thailand this year without a "proper visa"  and have 3-4 visa exempt entries a year since 2015 without any questions from IO

You mention common visit for your wife

For most farang a visa exempt flight from nearby countries would require an onward (return ) flight.

What is your wife experience in this regard.

With Indonesian pp I'm assume this is not required.

Are you hoping to find another person who gets asked for an onward flight instead of it always being just you ????

Central Pattaya has turned into one big red light district in recent years. I live in Central Pattaya and maybe I didn't realize that so much before. There were not many bars in my area.

What do you consider to be Central Pattaya? I live in Central Pattaya since 2008 and it's always been a red light district within walking distance of my condo lol

Yep.  A million dollar net worth nowadays is basically broke.  Especially with inflation in the 7-10 percent range for at least the next 5 years and near zero returns on stocks and bank accounts.

Obviously you don't have a million nett worth. That should get you over $40,000 per year in a standard saving account which is about 120,000 baht per month to live in Thailand.  More than enough to live very well in Thailand and definitely not broke

You appear just to want to argue but making  points I already spoke of... I will humour you a little.

Firstly don't be sorry... we were discussing what an agency Extension required relative to going to immigration and doing it yourself...

The instruction was, bring a passport photo if you have one, the shop is quite capable of producing one.. I keep a few with my passport... so that photo to go with the application I supplied. . They do take a pic in the shop anyhow, which means there is no need to go to immigration later  I told you I did not fill out a TM7... did you miss that!? Nor did I read one. I saved more than a minute, I didn't even have a blank one! Read this again, perhaps twice.

Thank for confirming an agent submission is illegal as they don't care about the immigration rules

Me, I prefer to follow the rules and retirement visa is easy for 1900 baht, 2 hours in immigration is an acceptable downside when I have so much free time

I happened to have a passport photo and they took it, but it was not a requirement. I did not have to fill in  the TM7...

Sorry but since the TM7 form requires a passport photo to be attached I don't see how a photo could ever not be required, plus surely you had to read and sign the TM7 they filled out for you, rather than didn't have to do a TM7

(probably saved one minute by not filling out TM7 yourself before signing, how hard is it write your name, date of birth, passport number and address of stay lol)

If this was my ship I think I would try and turn it into a gamboling party ship..

I think this would be waaaaaaaaaay more successful than the trip to Koh Samui......

Even the Pattaya to Hua Hin run I think would be better..

You should get with Leaver, the self proclaimed best Pattaya businessman never to have any skin in the game, so therefore has never failed. I'm sure he could make your idea a sure winner ????

Meanwhile in realty, hope the latest engine fixes are the last of ongoing issues and this gets off and running successfully soon

Yes sounds like my experience.... stopped off at the bank and got the letter and update on the book.....straight to the agent and they copied the bankbook, took a photo, I gave them the bank letter and a photo I happened to have, paid the fee, and that was it.....oh they wanted my phone number as they called me the following afterso noon to say passport ready for collection. Easy

The post you replied to says drop passport and pay only, but you went to bank and got the required letter and passbook copies and you went and got a passport photo.  Was there no need to provide proof of residence or did you also give chanote or lease agreement to agent? (If not required by agent than likely not required by IO either as on 90 day reports)

Still dont know what agent does but fill in a form (that takes less than a minute) and photocopy some documents (5 baht per page elsewhere). Why not just give same documents to immigration and save 15000 baht for a 12 month extension?

I don't know what agent you are talking about.

Don't want a Thai defamation suit coming my way but very popular agent who is reccomended often  on this forum as the go to agent in Pattaya (so I assume sets the standard of usual practice)

Wrong. Only fools spend their retirement years printing bank books, going to banks for bank letter, filling up forms, asking moronic question in this forum about document requirements, making copies and taking pics running around in scorching heat, waiting in immigration lines for hours and kowtowing to IOs if they demand something else and repeat the process, and then keep their 800K tied up in a low interest paying banks and all these for claiming their biggest achievement in life of getting a retirement visa. OMG, what a scene these old proud retirees printing their bank books every month in front  of bank machines.

You make it sound like you just drop off your passport, pay the money and done.

This is what I don't get as my Mate just did his first time 15 month non imm o and 12 month extension package for 25,000 baht through a popular agent.

Thing is, he already had a bank account with 800k baht in it. So he had to provide agent with his passport, copies of his condo chanote, get a passport pic, copy of his TM30, go to the bank to get letter, go to immigration to get photo in front of building.

So what has he saved by using an agent instead of doing it himself? Maybe 2 hours in a queue in Jomtien immigration. Not worth the 25,000 baht for me when retired with plenty of time on my hands (plus agent took 4 weeks and had his passport whole time)

Note: he had the 800k baht in his account for 2 days when he applied at agent (which meets non-imm O requirement), agent gave him a letter to give to bank, and bank letter than confirmed 800k was in bank for 3 months, even though it wasn't. I can't see anyway that is not fraud (and why do when his 800k met imm requirements)

There are cheap cargo shorts at the Pattaya night bizarre across from Central Festival/View Talay 6, second road.  Also Mikes shopping mall seaside and even the old Mikes near Walking street entrance.

Unfortunately they're all made for 6"6 tall and go way past the knee for anyone 5"10'

    Question?

Spam emails from their Email address or from other companies?

If from their Email address did it have an Unsubscribe button on it on the Bottom?

Spam emails were from everywhere and rotated daily so same message different email.

Could be coincidence but never had a problem before as don't normally give out email address. For AA I had to or would not get quote. Email Spam started straight after I declined AA insurance they quoted me.

Don't mean to defame them but had never given email before or after Spam attack

I have several insurances through AA Insurances Brokers and never any Spam emails and I use an original email address for them via (https://simplelogin.io) maybe something you should try to see really where those emails originate from.

I Only received a News Letter from them recently, which I unsubscribed by sending them an email.

As I said, I only received the spam emails after I declined their quote whereas you are a customer so I wouldn't expect you to get them.

    AA Insurance Brokers

Not an insurance but a broker and they do have an office in Pattaya

    Link: https://www.aainsure.net/

I clicked on AA insurance brokers once after recommendation on this forum, had to give email, then had over 30 spam emails per day when I declined insurance

Now down to about 5 spam emails per day after reporting and blocking emails for 4 months

Maybe coincidence but I don't think so....
