  1. Condo/house owners can use the "Section 38 App' to register a TM 30 (wouldn't hotel use the same app?)
  2. No-one is allowed to change their front door in my condo, and I assume this applies to most condo's as the whole point is to keep the places looking the same (this is the same as my Aussie apartment as well). Also as the OP is a renter to suggest he just do it without approaching management is so wrong (poor owner having their condo illegally modified without any permission) Leaving your door wide open is also not allowed in my condo. I live in a pretty soundproof condo never hearing neighbours but as soon as someone's door is open the TV/stereo sounds flood the whole corridor (no problem if not making noise). I assume a grill cut in the door would have a less but similar sound problem?
  3. You can't figure out how to catch a bus from Jomtien to Bangkok but within an hour of supposed phone failure you found this obscure phone repair location that's the best in Pattaya...how did you find it?
  4. For future games I think a scheduled replay would be the best bet to watch (just stay away from phone from 2am and hope noone spoils it for you) Here's what Witherspoons offered today
  5. Umm, the whole thread is that OP doesn't want to carry passport with them? A good enough why for you?
  6. So can't carry with you, can't leave in hotel room safe...might as well just not worry about it...
  7. Again you expats are over thinking it with your Thai drivers licence and pink card (whatever that is). As a tourist why would you not check into a hotel with your passport. Surely you have it on you moving hotels? Personally I think hotel will want real passport, not photocopy (unless you have other Thai ID mentioned so much).
  8. I guess this thread is only for people that have a Thai drivers licence lol
  9. I don't need a map as too many potholes in that street to go down ???? However happy to make a donation to your cause at the orphanage if you'd like to post how we can do that (or where to buy a map)
  10. Surely you're not suggesting this border run trip for an 80 year old woman, traveling alone with English as her 3rd language? Flight to KL and back to BKK made perfect sense to make an easy trip for her (with no reason for IO hassling her in BKK)
  11. Places like IRovers used to open 24 hours to show all sports. I understand they were allowed to do so because they were a hotel and served food, not just a bar. I guess covid has caused the death of 24 hour sports bars in Pattaya so now most of F1 and NFL is unwatchable (along with a lot of soccer world cup games)
  12. Speaking as a tourist so no Thai drivers licence or pink card like so many posts here say to show. I carry a copy of my Passport info and entry stamp pages cut down to the passport single page size instead of keeping at A4 page size, so easy to carry in wallet. I've only ever needed to show the copy at currency exchange Note: my actual passport has only ever been needed at immigration, hotel check-in, bank opening or phone Sim purchase.
  13. Don't like your chances as game starts 02:00. I searched everywhere to watch the recent rugby league world cup where Australia games started 02:30. Found nothing open. Typical IRovers, Witherspoon, Hemmingways, Metro Bar, varoius soi bukhao sports bars and Frasers in Jomtien all closed
  14. Wondering why anyone would need a street map of Soi Honey? Walk down the 150 metres of Soi Honey, something catches your eye, go in, if not keep walking....
  15. Maybe he should start a new thread "the actual favorite bars and restaurants that closed in last 3 years" would probably consist of a couple of posts ????
  16. It's what everyone has been telling you for 4 pages of posts lol
  17. Last time I applied for a TM30 in Jomtien the couple before me were fined 600 baht for not doing the TM30 within 24 hours. IO had entry date on computer and no TM30 filed. Maybe an IO off day but couple were OK to pay it and move on That's why I thought hotel was better rather than apply later than the rules allow
  18. Just wasted 5 minutes of my life reading why the OP is on a mission for what I have no clue Pretty simple, enter on visa exempt or tourist visa, apply for 90 day non-imm O visa, apply for 12 month extension..what is the OP arguing about?
  19. The problem is he had only 24 hours after arrival to apply for the Tm30 which is obviously passed so a 600 baht fine may apply Getting a hotel TM30 seems easier (or just pay the fine and apply for TM30 with copies of Chanote, passport page and entry stamp)
  20. "Is the closure of your favorite bar or restaurant imminent?" No, over 3 years since this thread was started and all of "my favorite bars and restuarants" are still open and going strong despite the horrific covid years Can't believe this thread is still going, pretty much no-one has mentioned a favorite bar that has closed in over a year
  21. My Sim card cost me 100 baht from dtac and I pay 200 baht per month for unlimited internet at 15mbps. Constantly use Netflix no problem at that speed. Note: I get "free internet at maximum speed" for 3 days everytime I renew and I haven't noticed any difference so 15mbps seems fine for movie streaming
  22. The popular theory is to check into a hotel the night before you go for extension and get the hotel TM30 submission proof to add to your application, seems to work TM7 Form, copy of Passport page, entry stamp, Tm30 and one passport pic +1900 baht
  23. Ask your airline if you're allowed to board with one way flight. I've travelled 14 years with no onward flight and never had a problem If you ask your airline and they say yes it's ok you have no problem (as immigration not likely to ask or care)
  24. Okay, anyone have any advice on tile replacement companies in central Pattaya or expected cost for 100sqm condo?
  25. Yeah I'm just sick of the vinyl floorboards you can't mop properly as too much water and they start to bend
