  1. The nation's power centres, economically speaking, will not allow a dictatorship of bought votes for long, history amply demonstrates.
There's an evident absurdity in this sentence, if the votes were for sale what problem would the "power centres" have in buying them all ? If the "power centers" are using the army, the judiciary and all possible dirty tricks like buying the Newin faction , it must be because the peasants votes actually are not for sale.
  2. None of them are winning, they all should to be taken out back and shot, the yellow shirts were disgusting in there actions and now the red shirts are following there leed. If any of them actually had an ounce of decency and love for there country they would shut up shop go home and fight this the right way through the courts or at the ballot box. The only agenda either side seems to have is the destruction of there country. Shame on the lot of them.
What if the courts are currupt and the ballot box is denied ?

Red shirts are just asking rogue Abhisit to step down and call for elections.

Rogue Abhisit is well aware he's been appointed in spite of people's vote and will never do that, unless forced. All disruptions and possible violences are rogue Abhisit's responsability, not Red demonstrators who are just trying to get back the voting rights they have been robbed of.

  3. Other than the lower cost of living I see no advantage to living in Thailand, at all. I see it only being attractive to old men with young wives or young men doing the bar scene. I don't knock this but if you are trying to live a more conventional life then I see no attraction anymore. Subtract the 'pussy factor' from the equation, including old men with child brides, and see how many want to stay then. The UK, Australia, the USA and rest of our home country's are better than Thailand in every way, other than the likelihood of getting laid on a night out.

Might be true, but a satisfactory sex life is nothing to sneeze at.

I pity those that structure their lives around it though :o

    Please disregard your nick.
  4. The BKK Post reported that the noon starting time for the Red Shirt march was delayed because "Mr Jatuporn said many supporters were probably spending the morning collecting their 2,000 baht gift cheques from the government and needed the extra time to gather at Sanam Luang."

So the red shirts, who want to bring down the government, can't attend the rally, because they are going to get their 2000 baht handout from the government that they don't support...

    :o:D:D:D:D:wai::P :jerk:

Anyone care to discuss the high and mighty principals of this "Political movement" again?

Do you still believe anything the Bangkok Bullshit writes ?
  5. Nobody give a darn about tonight protest. Getting 2,000 Baht from Mark to go shopping inside airconditioned mall (or buy stock), is better than getting 200 Baht from Thaksin to stand under the sun.
Farmers aren't getting a satang as they are not in social security. Only the middle class who voted for the Democrats is getting the 2.000 baht loot cut.Far from being a stimulus,it was just another punitive and vindictive move of this illegal government against Thai people.
  6. IMHO this means that the government is preparing for an economical disaster. because due the coming economical collapse millions will return to the rural areas.

The only way to bring prosperity to a country is international trade and foreign investments

Do they really still think that farming can bring wealth. This program only shows that Thailand is still a 3th world country and they are happy to be like that.

    What a shame.

I think you don't understand the Sufficiency Economic....We changed approx. 2 years ago to Sufficiency Economic in our company.

My wife as manager did so, as she thought that a crisis will come.

Now our staff, who always had big dept have mostly 10-50.000 Baht on their bank accounts and there is a plan in the worst case we can downsize the company to 10 % of the turnover without laying people off.

With a farm and an income of 2000 Baht per month, but all food comes from the farm you are much better off than with 10.000 Baht in Bangkok in a rented room as low class labour instead of landowner.

Many farm owners are for both nature and society better than 4 big food producer own all the land.

That shouldn't be so difficult to understand, or? And I don't see how that damage international trade or foreign investments.

    You're running a kolkhoze ?

Seriously, I'm very curious to know what is a "Sufficiency Economic" company. You're absolutely right, most of us have absolutely no idea what it means, please explain.

I think I can explain it for you.

It means "starve and shut up"

and also "if you still happen to have some baht left, make sure to use them to purchase the yellow shirt and the rubber bracelet" they come in many colours now...make sure your collection is complete.

  7. Yes she does.

It is no big deal really. I still have the power to stop the card and the most she would get is one days limit. 20K Thai baht.

To all the above posters talking about trust in a such a supercilious way, I would say: Never trust anybody, even family. Ever.

Virgil got it right in The Aeneid.

At last some sense spoken :o
