  1. Your Girlfriend needs help from the hospital. A lot of the big hospitals have staff that deal with Immigration in cases like this. If not you need a medical certificate from the doctor.

Have a chat with the hospital and Immigration.

This is the rule that deals with her. It may even help you. If not you will have to do a border run and pay any overstay you may have.

2.25 In the case of medical

treatment or convalescence or to look after a patient:

Permission will be granted for a period of not more than 90 days at a time.

    (1) Confirmation and request has been made by a physician

responsible for the treatment. The Physician must describe the details of treatment and advised that the illness is a barrier for travelling.

    (2) In the case of looking after a patient, confirmation and request has been made by the physician responsible for the treatment or by an embassy or consulate.

    (3) Patient Carer, except parents, spouse, children, adopted children or children of spouse, shall be granted no more than 1 extra person.

I would not count on this rule saving her from overstay.I recently spent 7 days in hospital due to auto accident.I obtained said certificate from the doctor and, presented myself to immigration in CM.I was told by several imm.officers I had overstayed 8 days and, being in hospital was no excuse.Had to pay, believe it or not.Have receipts to prove it,WOE IS ME! :)

  2. Guys thanks for all your opinions and advice.

I'm going to think about the things that have been posted and will reply later today.

Enjoylife,I traveled the world like you for 7 years in my 20s-to early 30s.I often think of people I met along the way, wondering what became of them.I clearly remember a young lady from guess where(issan)writing to me,wanting me to send money etc.So nothing has changed and the world still goes round and round.

If you continue to travel thailand will still be here when you are ready to settle.Give your relationship time to take form.Distance and new adventures will help you find the answers you seek.No matter what advice you get on this forum you will be the final judge;keep seeking knowledge,be aware and,be happy.

  3. If the padded bra makes them feel more confident then fair enough. Most women associate our breasts as being feminine and womanly, so often smaller chested girls will feel lacking and embarrassed. More fool the guys who may date a smaller framed slender girl and still expect a real ample chest. It does happen, but not often. Im sure she wishes parts of your body was up to scratch too when the clothes come off too. :D

Sorry eek, always been a leg man myself, and just adore nome lek :)

  4. I really can't believe the jerks who have responded to my post. Anyway here is my story...my Thai partner shopped as uaual at Carrefour for groceries. Usually "I never check the receipts. But this time he deciided to check it out as it seemed a bit high. Turned out that they charged us 190 bHT EACH FOR 6 nd partner got it straightened out quicklydifferent drinks that cost 10 bt each. It was rung up 3 times for 3 different drinks. A different of 1,100 baht. The girl could not explain it, tried to say it was just a mistake, and then blamed the store for posting the wrong prices. The police were there questioning her at the time; they responded in 4 minutes. The clerk finally broke down crying and they took her off to the police station to be fined, etc. The manager of the store begged my B/F to have mercy and not tell Faramg friend about this incident or post it on the Internet. We had a similar smaller incident about a year ago...and was probably just a mistake. ??

BTW I definitely got my money back from Thai partner. He is an honest person and apparently more Jai Dee than some of you people out there are. Take a look at yourselves and try to keep an open mind!

My my a bit on the sensitive side are'nt we.tsk, tsk, tsk :)

  5. I thought I would post a few helpful hints for people to fit in here.

    Where is your "here"?

    1. Always find ways to mention how long you've been in Thailand for, the more the better.

Yes, because obviously those FOB are entitled to spout off and make lists :)

    2. Actively seek white skin chicks to impress the Thais. Equally, regard all dark skin chicks as ugly, scoff at them and call them whores.

Make sweeping generalizations about your fellow farang and have no clear understanding that people have different tastes in partners :D As if likin light or dark skin has much bearing on anything!

    3. Take great pride in that fact that your wife is not an ex-prostitute.

Huh? No need for pride in the fact that a spouse didn't sleep with men for money is there? I mean really ...... Nobody in my social circle needs to take any pride in that since nobody in that group would have ever dated a prostitute much less married one!

    4. Prance around like a big shot because you have a normal / semi-decent job / business in Thailand by western standards.

Wait --- let me guess ... nah ...

    5. Make sure to play down your Thai language skills in a way that comes across as humble but fluent, even if you can't speak shit compared to time spent.

The alternative being ....? Oh, making lists ...

    6. Be sure to use your most impressive memorized Thai phrases as often as possible with complete disregard for context.

    Are there impressive Thai phrases?

    7. Make as many chicks as uncomfortable as possible with your poorly pronounced pidgin Thai that is only understood by other up standing expats that you smugly speak (bad) Thai with. Combine this with your overbearing body language that you still thinks flys here after all this time.

You used "here" again .. where is here? But hey, there is an almost unavoidable fact. You can tell a lot about someone by how they speak Thai :D

    8. Apply the Thai sadika system to the expat / tourist community - look down on all who backpack, TELF etc. whilst prostrating before your wealthier, longer in Thailand expat mates.

    See rules 5, 6, and 7.

    9. Whenever someone informs you of a purchase, be sure to tell them that they could have got a better deal if they had your expertise.

It is a truly Thai trait .. and fun :D

    10. Most important, be condescending, cynical and patronizingly accepting of Thailand and the Thais. Like you understand everything but are way above it all.

Or better yet be bitter about all those fellow foreigners that have been here longer, have good jobs, didn't marry prostitutes, and have some fluency in Thai including knowing sakdina : sadika

mmmmm, social circle.I'll have to get one of those, sounds so impressive :D

  6. Or lives in Mae Rim :D

No there are more people in mae rim than me,I see them everyday. :) Maybe they are'nt really there though, could be to much leo :D
