  1. October 1, I noticed that the prices of motor bike taxi went up. There was a notice on the taxi stand, with info that certain sections had increased the price. But two weeks later I became charged 33% more on another stretch it was announced that the price was changed.

Can motor bike taxi just put up the price when they want, or are there regulations governing this?

There is not much to complain that the price goes up a few bath. But it seems they should inform a little better! Although a percentage increase of 30 percent is quite a lot, compared to what you read about that regular taxi should be allowed to increase their rate

  3. Yes, i was speaking a lot with the lady at the Emerald pool. and my gf spoke with her as well. She said that a 5 year drivers license is no evidence of living in Thailand.

So if they need evidence of living in thailand. It might be a good idea to get a addres registration from Immigration.

I know from Koh Samet, farang with driver licens will pay the Thai price of 20 THB.

It is sad that Thailand still practice this racist price system.

As said before, i do not complain if all people are charged the same, and if the money go to maintain the parks.

  4. The driving license does not work at any national park in krabi, the greed is un real they even charge you 20 bht now to park you motor bike outside the national park ,entrance fees are 200 bht White skin or 20 bht brown skin

    Thanks for the answer!

I paid 400 THB last time i was at the Emerald pool, withc is way to much. But i have to back to Krabi soon, as i get visitors from overseas. Normaly i avoid the greedy Thai people, but sometime you have to pay.

  5. Does anyone know if a farang who lives in Thailand has to pay the overprised farang price at the nationalparks in Krabi? Normaly when i go some place around here or in Chonburi aera, i always show my Thai driver licens and pay the thai price.

Some farangs will say, " why complain about this" I do, because i am living here, and i speand all my money in Thailand. And ofcause i can pay a fee, a fee that is equal to who ever visit.

  6. Is there anybody here who have experience on apply for a Thai visa in example UK or another country, by postal service from outside the country you are applying in?

I know that it is no problem to apply for a Thai visa in UK if you use a adress in UK, even you are not a UK citizen. I did that last year, I used a friends adress in UK, sent my passport to him, and he forwarded it to a consulate, no problem

I am currently in Norway, the consulate and Thai embassy in Norway will NOT give multy entry Non-im O visa, no chance. So i have to apply for it somewhere else.

Ofcause i can travle to a consulate in UK. But it would be cheaper and better if it can be done by postal service. It will also be great if the consulate accept to give visa based just on marriage certifficate.

  7. yes, i am aware that i need the marriage certificate to get the visa. But in some counrty it is enough with just that paper. I also know that if i get it, i have to do visa run since i can not provide all the documentation that immigration in bkk want.

That is why i will do it at a consulate. But none of the 2 answers did`t actually answer my question about aplaying in HULL....

  8. Can someone please help me with some questions.

I want to applay for a Non-o visa. And as fr as i can see, it is easy to get from Hull in UK. But is it possible for me as a Norwegian citizen to apply by post, from norway. Or do i have to go there in person? The thai consulate in Oslo also just require copy of marriage cartificate (married to thai woman) i am married, but i have a little problem to get copy and signature from my wife...

    1) if i get a singel entry Non-o from Oslo. Can i jut stay 90 dys, and then what?

  9. I hope someone can answer a few question about my visa.

I have a ED visa that i have to extend at the end of the month, ( last extention for the ED visa) but the day before my visa runs out, am i going back to my home country for a 3 week period. I will buy a Non-im re-entry permit before i leave. But do i have to renew my visa before leaving? or can i do it when i back? Because if i do before leaving, i will use 3 weeks of my visa while i not stay here. I know when i get back, i will only get 14 days at the airport, before i have to go back to immigration.

If i example get a new Visa in my home country, Non-O. Can i enter Thailand on my ED visa, or is it impossible?

  10. Another bad thing is King power dutyfree.

I travled out of Suvarnabhumi airport in june 2010, and i was going to buy prince cigarette (smoked by scandinavians), but there was no prince avalible. So i sent a eamil to customer support and asked. They told me that they had to renew their license to sale Prince, and that it would be back in sale a few weeks later.

Next time i leave Thialand was january 2011 and still not Prince at King power. The answer from customer support this time was that Prince had production problems and could not deliver.

  11. I got my thai driver license last year, at bkk aera 3 office. All that i neded was copy of passport, medical certificate and leasing contract. It was no problem to get a thai driver licnese. They aske why i did not have 1 year visa. But i explained to them, i am to young to have retirement visa. And i do not work here. So therefor i just have tourist visa.

I have to renew it in March. And i am sure it will work out fine.

But if any other on turist visa have extended their license from 1 year to 5 year, i would be glad to hear about it.

I will come back with more info when i have renewed it in march
