  1. 1. Don't have long Relationships with working/bar girls. 95% of the time it works out badly and the break up will be a horror in your life.

    2. Date a girl thats not in the bar business your life will be 10000 times happier. Educated and has her own money is important otherwise after a while you won't enjoy life with her much.

These are very good advices but not necessarily true for the education and money part, although, it does help to a certain extent. A friend of mine came here basically penniless. He got married to his Thai wife and they both started up a small business together. She wasn't that well educated and certainly not well off but through thick and thin she stayed with him. I think one of the keys is staying away from bar girls. They are not all bad but you're likely to run into the bad ones much more often than in other professions.

  2. Im not too good on local history... but I can't understand why Thai people keep telling me Angkor Wat's name is wrong (I forget the name they give it), and claiming that Angkor Wat belongs to the Thailand.. someone even seemed to think the Thais built it - but I understand it was built by the Khmers before Thailand even existed.

Can anyone fill me in? What is their claim to this site?

    Thanks

I think the people you talked to need to get the fact straight. Nakorn Wat has always been Cambodian. It doesn't belong to Thailand. All of my Thai friends and colleagues, to whom I asked this question, said this was something they learnt in school. My wife also said the same thing. If this is about the temple at Phra wiharn border dispute, then it's a different story.

  3. As a result of not wearing shoes and working in the rice paddies, my girlfriends big toe and second toe are like a pair of pincers very strong grip, comes as a result of pulling rice with the toes she told me.

Hi, a new member here and my first post is about feet and toes. BTW, thank you, that was quite educational and this thread is hilarious. I've just realised I never paid much attention to my wife's feet and toes. I think I'm going to take a good look at them before she gets up.
