When I was working in Jomtien for 1 year, about 8 years ago, I stayed in those types of rented rooms.  I recall that I paid no more than 4,000 baht per month for a room with basic furnishings, TV with foreign channels, air-con, free wi-fi etc.

The price is low because the room is basic, and it is only 1 small room.  I think you'd go a bit stir crazy living in that small space for a long time, (although many Thais seem to manage OK)

Obviously you were on a english teaches pay.

The Thais I've met in the last 3-4 years of stay here are not overly fond of the Muslims in the South, especially as there are almost daily reports of some bombing or the other down there.

History lesson 1. The south was muslim till the brits changed things. End of discussion.

you are clueless my friend it is a criminal act here not civil as in most countries and HERE you can say the truth and still be sued so you need to go back to school and educate yourself just a tad (with all due respect)

What did i say  that is civil and not criminal?? Where did i say  that you cant tell the truth and still be sued???  You have to get up  in the morning a lot earlier to get one over me.

appalling post there is NO crime in exposing corruption and injustice that's what great investigative journalists do

You need educating in Thai law. There is no crime in exposing corruption and injustice. If in doing so, you defame someone, they can sue you. So no, it was not an appalling post, you need to know your facts before running off at the mouth, with all due respect.

    That was not very nice.

The guy only want's a short  holiday with his family and costing it out.

    What's wrong with that .

what a retarded comment you made   :bah:

So what happens then if halfway through his trip, he finds his bus fare back home has doubled?  As an economist for 25 years, I know what I am talking about.

The previous occasion that is exactly what it was, and that is what i was talking about. A foreigner in Chiang Mai I believe.

Nowhere in the article above did it specify where his hands were tied, only that they were.

hope that clarifies it for you.

The scene being compromised is as I wrote. Police didnt say they were looking for anyone in connection with it, which suggests they are thinking of suicide..

fail to see how the comment was rubbish.

"Well we have seen this sort of thing before. Man found hanged with hands tied behind back."  Your exact words.

RTP will undoubtedly rule it a suicide, citing depression at not having a new iPhone or some other nonsense.

Note that the scene is not cordoned off, and all sorts of folk are in the vicinity of potential forensic evidence.

Maybe Ronald McDonald should become the new chief, so as to give them some ideas in line with their thought process abilities.

    Tied behind his back???

The reason was that he was Japanese. As Thaiwrath said 5 am is early morning.  What we don't know is did the Thai man have a girlfriend who works in the entertainment industry and was also eating with the victim ?

What we also dont  know is, was the attacker a money lender  and had he lent the Japanese man one million baht and had found out that the Japanese man was about to leave thailand that morning with out paying him  back.
