    This is a very very touchy subject in my family.

    I bought all the correct fittings, attachements etc etc and the family think there is something wrong with me.

    me "Why isn't Kitty in the chair?"

    her "Kitty feels no good in the chair"

    me "well how do you think she will feel if she flies through the windscreen?"

    her "Mai bpen rai, you good driver"

    This is very disturbing for me to hear as a mother. U may be the best driver there is, but im sure the guy in front and/or behind you isn't such a great driver. Nowadays, there are cell phones, radios, etc that causes distractions. And an accident may happen at anytime. Studies shows most accidents happen at least 2 blocks from home...now that's in the US, but im sure almost the same elsewhere. I will never hold my child while in the car. Maybe because my family have been in an accident before, and if it wasnt for the carseat, my sister wouldn't be here. And this accident happened in the 1980s, when carseats were taking up space in a car.

    It's sad to hear that most Thais are unable to afford these things. I wonder if there is any way I would be able to help. In the US we have "garage sales" and there are lots of baby products, such as car seats and strollers, that people try to sell cause their child grew out of them. And these products are usually for sale for $5 USD compared to a brand new one for approximately $150 USD.

    And as for the person driving that BMW with his/her child crawling around in the back, that is just plain ignorance!

  2. Anna,

    He's a young guy, right? Then he'll learn to get over it, after u tell him what the deal is. Sounds like he's being led to think u might have some kind of interest in him. But trust me, im sure he would have no trouble finding another girl to lust over. Like someone said earlier, maybe u should find a guy u are interested in and bring the new guy around. Or are u scared you're gonna hurt this young nice guy's feeling if u were to do that?

    In the humble town of Sriracha:

    7-11 pay here = 1,300 baht per month

    Teacher (Thai) = 5,100 baht per month (newly hired-Govt. school)

    Teacher English (Thai) = 8,200 baht per month (Govt. school)

    Teacher English (Native) = 25,000 per month (30K the 2nd year) (ECC)

    Police = 8,800 baht per month (extracurricular activity not included)

    Unemployment compensation in Thailand = mai mee... "no have"

    B1300 = US$31.67

    B5100 = US$124.24

    B8200 = US$199.67

    B25K = US$609.01

    B30K = US$730.81

    B8800 = US$214.37

    Are the calculations correct? OMG I can never live on 30Kbaht = $730.81USD a month! But how much are living cost in Thailand? My rent in the US is $975USD/month for a 2 bedroom home. What is the exact currency today? $1 USD = how many bahts? I dont want to get ripped off when i go there on vacation. :o

    The "ATM joke" holds true most ANYWHERE in the world!

    Anywhere? I think u mean...EVERYWHERE. If u held up an ATM card and waving it to me...il go running to you too. LOL hehehe jk

    britmaveric Posted 2005-04-05 08:22:14

    Sandy - long time no see where ya been?

    Hey brit (sweety) I've missed u guys so i decided to come back. :o But yes, its been a real long time. Have i missed anything important? lol

  6. OMG...are u guys talking about the same Big Brother that they air in the US for about 4 years now? That show is done for. No one really watches it anymore. Better off watching the Real World on MTV (US), cause they actually dont dumb things that ppl like to watch and criticize. Very amusing. lol

  7. SEAtramp

    Meeting Thai woman is not to difficult. Most have a grasp on the English language.

    It helps if you dress smart, and have ATM tattood on your forehead.

    What's with the ATM joke? LOL :o I can't but help say that it's actually true. Sad but true...

  8. Hey brit...I just got it over the weekend. First tat. I use to be only into peircings..thought i get a tat too. I took pictures of it but i had the cream on so it looked kinda to glossy in the pic. Now its starting to peel and itch. So imma wait til its all healed up and take a new picture. I myself really dont know how it turned out...I hope it looks fine. Well in the mirror it does. LOL

  9. My house....shoes off!!! Even my 2 yr old daughter knows to take her shoes off when she gets into the house. I myself was born in the US but still do things the asian way. My bf now is in the habit of taking his shoes off. And even ask ppl who visits, to take them off as well.

    But why on earth would anyone wear dirty smelly shoes into bed? That's just ridicules.

  10. Darlek Posted on Tue 2004-09-28, 03:46:39

    they get pissed off when you are walking along a road somewhere and they see some piece of clothing they want . you refuse to buy the clothing , and they throw a big sulk.

    In that case, Darlek u have or had a very materialistic gf. I can buy my own piece of clothing, thank u. And i think most of us girls (women) would agree.

    What pisses me off....big time. Is when for a month u tell your bf or husband that u will be doing something on this day. And u actually sit there to explain to him what the event is all about, who will be there, what time it will start and end, and where it is being held. Then when the night comes, you're getting ready, and he says to u "where are u going?" "u didnt tell me u were going out." And he knows deep in his little brain somewhere that i did tell him, but he just dont want u to go out.

    And the towel thing, she probably yelling at u about it cause, if u put it on the floor once and it stays there, and then she has to pick up after u, then she will know it will happen again, then it would turn into something that she has to do, is to pick up after u all the time. This is also one of the things that pisses me off.

    You men are grown, have hands and feet...u can do things for yourself too. :o

    Ha ha, American fast food sucks so bad! That's why there are McDonalds in every city in every country on earth, and they always sell the <deleted> out of those sucky burgers wherever they go on sale. Yeah, the people of the world really think American fast food sucks!

    If it sucks so bad, then why do they have one in every city/country and yet the people are still eating McDonalds? Make's you wanna think don't it?

    Food is food, if it keeps you from being hungry, then why not eat it. If u dont like it, then dont order it. No matter how bad the food might be to u, but it is still up and running in business.

    Seems nobody on the board is taking any liking in Hooters.

    Strange that they are still a succeful francise business, isn't it? Or do we not want to admitt that we like it and only go there to see the scenery???

    What do u think i have been saying? I only go there for the environment (scenery). Basically that's what everyone has said. But we hate the food. Of course it's sucessful. I wish i would have thought of a place like hooters and yet it's still legal. Who wants to eat when u have good-looking females and booze in the same place. :o

  13. Last weekend i went to hooters (here in Chicago), and our server was Thai/Irish. Dang she looked good. Maybe Thailand's Hooters might want to hire the bi-racial females just to run the business. LOL

    It isnt the food, it has never been any good. Who couldnt just go buy the frozen chicken wings at the store and warm them up in the oven? That's what it basically is. :o

    They are both under 5, and attend an English school. At their age, they can mix with kids from any language and make themselves understood.

    I know exactly what you mean. Its funny how my daughter would talk to other kids, like her cousin who is full hispanic, in Laotion and he knows no English only Spanish, would actually understand eachother. Kids are just so smart.
